https://gotiffindragons.com/news/2026/2/17/ekkens-resigns-as-tiffin-head-football-coach.aspx

looks like another Raider in the NFL.  Geoff should fire up the Kehres family van and take a little poaching road trip over to Tiffin with KB and Kappas

edit: sounds like Ekkens is heading to the desert with the AZ Cards

Quote from: The Third Division on February 14, 2026, 01:15:30 PMUMHB's two year scheduling agreement with Keystone screams desperation. It is not a good look for the program.
Go ahead and list the teams who are interested in scheduling a series with us. Then we can discuss which ones would be better options.

One would think the Division 3 philosophy is grounded in conference and regional competition rather than national and most schools are interested in scheduling as such.

Oh wait: It is

I know you all filter everything through the lens of "What's best for the football team?" which means you think everyone's just too scared to play you, but the sooner you realize that most D3 institutions have bigger concerns than the football team picking up an elite OOC game, the easier it'll be for you.

nobody is scared to play UMHB.  Pick them up in week 4 or 5 and a third of their team has re-entered the portal after transferring in a couple of months earlier.  That non-D3 culture paired with being the only D3FB school to ever vacate a national championship...why would any D3 program fly to Texas?

Quote from: raiderpa on February 16, 2026, 09:34:14 AMHopefully the brass at the OAC is tuning in on the Flosports streaming.  Time to find an alternative for next year, perhaps...

flo sports is absolutely horrible and has been rough since the football season....but it wont change unless an alternative can flip a couple of shekels to the OAC and its schools. as Wu-Tang once said, cash-rules-everything....

Rick Hairston is going to be the first Women's flag football coach at Mount.  The HOF MUC alum is a former great Timken and McK basketball coach, and I thought currently at GlenOak?  He's a pretty top notch coach with lots of ties to the local Stark County high schools.  Not a bad selection

Quote from: The Third Division on February 09, 2026, 11:53:01 AMI'm confident this topic has been discussed for years in this website so I hate to bring it up again.

With NDSU moving up to FBS, My understanding is that mount union didn't move up their football program to D2 because it would have involved all their sports moving up to d2, and Mount Union didn't want to offer athletic scholarships.

Is there anything else I'm missing?

isn't Mount dead according to you? take your goofy rage bait stuff elsewhere

Louisville doesn't have any teaching/admin jobs available, or the ability to create them. It's gotta be someone from inside the program or a retired type like the guy that they just hired.  But we'll see

Quote from: Patrick Coleman on February 07, 2026, 10:44:27 AMOK, so, school, yes. Not schools.

Even if true at more than one of the 60 or so, it's not typically widespread and I'd hardly expect Mount Union to do anything the same way that Thiel did.

if history shows us anything, Jan Dartt will be named head coach of the women's flag football team

Quote from: pradierguy on February 05, 2026, 02:07:38 PMMount Union is adding Women's Flag Football as an official sport. I wonder if any current staff gets plucked to run that program?

LK getting that program going would be something else.

With all the hype I saw on social media I was suprised to see that he had zero touches in the game

The game is actually the least important part of Senior Bowl week.

Regardless of relative importance I was just surprised.

I'm just surprised that HC/AD Brian Polian didnt fire off a lengthy tweet or have a segment on WKYC about the Senior Bowl and the slight that Montgomery suffered

boy are the Polian's taking a beating in the social media world the past week or so, hopefully the JCU WR can get drafted.  He is the type of athlete that can break the D3FB draft dry spell.

VK is one of the top DC in all of college football.  His 'Cuse defenses will be absolutely nasty within a couple of years.  VK is a leader of men to a tee

With all the videos I've seen of JCU WR Ty Montgomery absolutely torching FBS defensive backs, I've really got to hand it to Mount Union's D the last few years. 2024 playoff matchup we held him to 2 catches for 24 yards. This year he had a lot of catches (10) but he only had 89 yards receiving and 0 TDs. Kind of amazing, when you see how well he matches up against guys who will likely get drafted.

Ely could 100% coach them up.  he had plenty of defensive gems, I think it was time for a move up and Mount was hoping for some more consistency at high level defense.  Imagine if there wasnt such a D3 stigma and twitter when Pierre and Cecil were in school. The Mount boys would have been picked a few rounds earlier imo

Pierre's highlights would have broke the internet, that's how a D3 dominates the division

That video is such a great trip down memory lane. Other WR have come and gone and had major success (and better stats), but no one was ever more dominant than #1.

Also.... Jorris had a CANNON. He tends to get forgotten due to a small window of time when he was QB1, but my goodness could he sling it.

At the infamous night game against Otterbein where Pierre introduced himself to the world, I was a very sick sophomore running a large fever. I was at the game (at least the first half) and I literally thought I was hallucinating when I saw Pierre run. He is, to this day, the fastest human being I have seen with my own eyes.

Re: Jorris - he could do a couple things right really well: playfake and throw the ball as far as possible. Luckily no one could outthrow Pierre's speed, and playfaking to Kmic meant the opposing D had to honor that too.

It was a good time to be a Mount student.

Kyle Miller will not be back at Mount

Quote from: CarollFan on February 01, 2026, 09:46:17 AMUSC also picked up a WR Luke Degner from UChicago.
Both Torti and Degner are from California.

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but Degner barely did anything at UChicago.  I highly doubt that USC is expecting much from him.  Will he be a walk on and getting his masters at USC?  Sure.  Will he ever see the field? nope

no player in D3FB history was ever as athletically dominant as PG.  From the moment he was on campus, you pretty much knew that he had no business being there, he looked different, played different, and was just unfair to D3 CB's

Raiders hitting FT after FT to salt away a big win....what a change from the past couple of years

start designing the Fuline statue

Hamilton is the heartbeat of this team, call him grit, a dawg, etc, he's that dude

that little two game dip gives Fuline something to coach against, they can make a good run this year...and next year...oh boy
