But that said, D3 schools are already participating in NIL at varying levels.  Many athletic websites have links documented their NIL involvment.

CWRU roster update

5'9 260 Jeffrey Meschede, who in 2025 was a backup left guard is now listed as FB and given jersey 0.

The last Spartan that I remember being designated a FB was Corey Checkan who I found was a senior on the 2009 team.

A search of rosters revealed JP Wasserman listed as FB in 2018. A name more familiar to me Jacob Burke was a FB from 2014 to 2017. Wasserman was primarily a blocking back, but Burke rushed for over 1,000 yds in both 2016 and 2017.

I'm curious how Meschede will be used differently from the 7 players listed as HBs as well as TEs.

^^^ Seems to me the Jackets have question marks throughout the lineup this season. Or maybe I just don't remember that much about who's coming back. A #25 ranking might be generous.

Quote from: olddog on July 17, 2026, 05:36:47 PMHope you are well Dr. D...CLU looked like they were improving last year as the season went up, any update as to what is coming back? I think UR could sneak up on some folks, if and only if our O line play improves. Second year for our OC in the league etc.
I would not expect any major shift in CLU football with this new Dean and Lugo still head coach.  Nice guy to your face--that all I will say.  The dean favores woman's sports, for obvious personal reasons. :)

1v2 and 3v5 week 1, pretty awesome start to the season!

If only one of those would move to a night game on a hot Labor Day weekend.  What a schedule!

Bard and Clarkson would be N/A as they didn't qualify for any NCAA D3 tournament (and in Bard's case any LL playoffs besides baseball.)

I didn't even realize that Clarkson wasn't on there. D'oh!

That's somewhat crazy that neither team even makes the list, especially Clakson.

What about Bard? I know they don't field football, and that they've dropped lacrosse, but they're still in the LL, no? Do they not field enough teams to qualify/rate?

I imagine Rochester counts for UAA; any idea where they finished?
