As I get ready to come to homecoming I realized I would get not only to see a football  game(which should be a blow out)  but I also remembered the soccer teams.  They play two games that weekend.  The soccer teams have been some of the only good news in the fall for the last several years(except for last years volleyball).

Early season statement game later today as HSU travels to San Antonio to take on Trinity, 8PM.  Due to construction at Trinity the game will be played at the University of the Incarnate Word, a mile or two east of Trinity on Hildebrand.   Always an exciting game when these rivals get together.

Lady Tigers opened the season with a loss to College of the Southwest and then beat Bacone the next day.

The first NCAA regional rankings are out and posted in the Great Lakes Rankings area.  This poll is the only one to use when wondering about Pool B and Pool C candidates.

If the only loss you have all year is to the national champs well it goes without saying,,----you had a great year.

HSU will be back next year as I believe most of their key players are not seniors.  They also have a very classy coaching staff - a staff that should get them back into the post-season next year.

Trinity gets by HSU today, 1-0.  A little bad luck for the Cowgirls as one shot went off the post, another off the crossbar.

Congrats to you ASC and HSU fans!  It was a tremendous victory for coach Wood, and for the team, especially the seniors.

Congrats to the HSU ladies on the national title.  What a great match up 1 and 2.  The defending two time champ.  I have seeing this team year in and year out winning all year until Trinity would send them home.  I guess they put that ghost to bed and the rest was easy.  I may be the only one in California that has heard about this but I let out big shout out from the left coast.

#10 Trinity defeats #1 HSU tonight in 2OT, 3-2.  Abby Loar had two goals including the game winner for Trinity, which jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half before Katy Kuykendall scored back-to-back goals for the Cowgirls to tie it up in the first half.
