Is it available yet? I've not seen it on either the Aztec Bowl or AFCA site.
It's historically not posted til last minute because of bids being sent to playoff participants not sure whether they'll be available. Last year I believe we had a thread for those who had accepted bids and should be playing. Perhaps it would be good to post confirmed players in this link...
In that light, ONU's Steve Gunter (CB) has accepted a bid to play.
So has John Pursell from Del Val
Marietta's Clay Ream (DL) is also headed to the Aztec Bowl.
Capital's James Starks (CB) is confirmed as well.
Warren,
The NWC is sending three...I thought UPS had one but I didn't see anything on their web site:
Andrew Woods, CB, Linfield
Jay Tulley, S, Whitworth
Brandon Bennett, OT, Willamette
The 50-man roster, plus alternates, will be released on Nov. 27.
This year's game is slated for Dec. 8 in Chihuahua.
UW-Stevens Point defensive back Kasey Morgan is on the team.
WR Jake Allen of Mississippi College has accepted.http://www.gochoctaws.com/news/football/2007/9/20/FB-Jake.asp (http://www.gochoctaws.com/news/football/2007/9/20/FB-Jake.asp)
It was just posted that Eric Dube LB DIckinson has accepted to play.
2 time Defensive player of the year in the Centennial Conference.
Alfred has its 6-2 310-lb. defensive tackle Don Miller (LeRoy, NY) going to the Aztec Bowl as well.

FB's Jerrell Freeman selected to play in 2007 Aztec Bowl
11/27/07
Aztec Bowl selection LB Jerrell Freeman
Belton, TX -University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player Jerrell Freeman has been selected to play in the 2007 Aztec Bowl in Chihuahua, Mexico on December 8th. Freeman, a senior linebacker from Waco University High School, is one of five linebackers named to the active roster. He will only play in the Aztec Bowl if UMHB is eliminated from the NCAA Division III National Championships this weekend. Freeman leads the Cru with 96 total tackles and 16.5 tackles for loss this season. He also has 6.0 sacks and seven pass break-ups on the season. Freeman has forced two fumbles and also blocked a punt that he returned for a touchdown. He is the sixth UMHB player selected to play in the Aztec Bowl, a game that pits a team of Division III all-stats against Mexico's national champion. The 2007 Aztec Bowl will be played at Estadio Olimpico in Chihuahua and will kick off at 6:00 PM Central Time on Saturday, December 8th.
While it's a great honor to go to the Aztec bowl, some players eschew the invitation because of academic commitments. Congrats to everyone named, and to those asked as well.
That's awesome but I do find it funny that there are invites to players from Whitewater, UMHB, Wesley, Bethel, Central, and St. John Fisher...but none from the Death Star.
...and by Death Star I'm not talking about Wabash.

When was the last time the Galactic Empire didn't make it to the semis? They prolly got tired of naming guys who never ended up being able to play ;)
And my post was to acknowledge that Wabash had at least one invite, but the player in question talked to some professors and decided that he needed to be on campus that week.

Maybe its none of my business, but shame on the professors for not letting this kid get a chance of a lifetime. If I were that kid I would ask the AD what he should do. Thats not fair.
If its the kids choice then so be it....
Jonny, ya gotta understand that compared to playing in the Monon Classic a little jaunt down to Mexico may not be all that impressive for these kids. If it's his choice based on his academic and personal needs then more power to him.

Like I said before. I dont want to comment on anyones personal business, but I hope his decision didnt come down to a professor not being flexible with an exam date or paper date.
And I would disagree that "a little jaunt down to Mexico" wouldnt be impressive. I would say its a one in a lifetime experience and a special d3football event.

There's a quote on the Wabash press release regarding this. No professor is putting his or her foot down. It was totally a choice by the student athlete to put student first.

Maybe I can fiure out why I wasn't picking anything up.
If this helps you guys debug -- it starts to load Charlie Chitwood's broadcast, then flips to "cuttingedge.wavestreamer.com" before failing.

PC...good work today for everyone involved in the semis.
Good health to all in prep for the Stagg.
This Aztec Bowl is enjoyable. Personal fouls starting to fly on both sides now though at USA 23 Mexico 13 5:00 in the 3rd.
37-19 final in the Aztec Bowl. Dubuque's Jermar Jackson was the Team USA mvp. Story and stats will be on afca.com shortly.
Team USA ran off nearly eight minutes of the fourth quarter on two scoring drives without throwing a pass to put the game away.
ran into this on youtube. A well done highlight video of this past year's Aztec Bowl from the Mexican Team side of the House.
