Okay, Pat, Keith, Gordon and the rest of the staff can obviously trump most everyone else, but I'm curious to know how many different teams folks from across the country have seen play in person? (games played in don't count, nor do televised games. Only games seen as a fan at the stadium)
This is meant simply for fun, nothing more, nothing less.
Thinking back, these are the team's I've seen:
ASC (8)--Hardin-Simmons, Mary Hardin-Baylor, East Texas Baptist, Mississippi College, McMurry, Louisiana College, Howard Payne, Sul Ross
CCIW (1)--Wheaton
MIAA (1)--Hope
MAC (5)--Delaware Valley, Lebanon Valley, Albright, FDU Florham, Widener
SCAC (7)--Austin College, Birmingham Southern, Colorado College, Centre, Millsaps, Rhodes, Trinity
LL (1)--Susquehanna
CC (1)--McDaniel
NWC (1)--Linfield
WIAC (3)--UW Stout, UW Stevens Point, UW Whitewater
UAA (1)--Washington Univ.
So, if my math and memory are correct, I think I've seen 29. How about you guys?
Fun project, but didn't take too long for me.
SLIAC(5) - Huntingdon*, LaGrange*, MacMurray, Eureka*, Westminster
SCAC(5) - Sewanee*, Rhodes*, Milsaps*, Trinity, Colorado College
USAC(2) - Maryville*, NC Wesleyan
PAC(1) - Thomas More
WIAC(1) - UW Oshkosh
Empire 8(1) - Ithaca*
ACFA(1) - Wesley*
ASC(1) - McMurry
17 Teams
*9 stadiums
I'll play!
NCAC (9) - Allegheny, Denison*, Earlham*, Hiram, Oberlin, Ohio Wesleyan*, Wabash*, Wittenberg*, Wooster* (will complete the set next year when Kenyon comes to C'ville)
HCAC (7) - Anderson*, Bluffton, Franklin*, Hanover*, Manchester*, Mt. St. Joseph, Rose-Hulman

CCIW (2) - Millikin*, Wheaton*
SLIAC (2) - Huntingdon, MacMurray

WIAC (1) - UW-Whitewater*
So I think I've got 33 teams and 18 stadiums. I've also seen the stadiums at RHIT and Trinity(TX) but have not seen a game at those places so I didn't count them here.
SLIAC( 8 ) -- LaGrange*, Huntingdon*, Blackburn*, MacMurray*, Greenville, Westminster, Principia*, Eureka
NCAC (2)--Kenyon*, Dennison
ASC (3)--Mississippi College*. Louisiana College, UMHB*
SCAC (4)--Birmingham Southern*, Centre*, Rhodes*, Millsaps*

USAC (1)--Maryville*
ODAC (1)--Bridgewater*
MAC (1)--Wilkes
PAC (1)--W&J

How about adding the number of states you traveled to to see games? And no I didn't mean states of mind ::)
Addendum...I also saw the Gustavus Adolphus stadium but did not see a game there. I forgot that I visited GAC when I was figuring out where I wanted to go to school back in the day. :)
I've seen games in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. I fully expect to be at the Wabash/WashU game in St. Louis in 2010. And I've seen stadiums but not games in Minnesota and Texas. So 5 states for games, soon to be 6, and 2 more that I've seen empty.

Glad you added that. I think the states thing is what I'm most proud of. I've seen games in every D3 major state, though a lot of states with one or two schools are on my missing list:
Yes - 20
Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan (stadium only, no game), Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Mississippi, Texas, California, Oregon and Washington.
Missing: 12/9
Missouri, Maine, Vermont, Conn., RI (Salve), W. Va. (Bethany), Georgia (LaGrange), Alabama (Hunt. & B-SC), Colorado (Colo. Coll.)., Tennessee (Maryville), Kentucky (Thomas More), Louisiana (La. Coll.)
I've seen teams from Alabama, Kentucky & Connecticut play in other states though.
States with no D3 football: 18
Florida, S. Carolina, Arkansas, N. Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, N. Dakota, S. Dakota, Nebraska (wesleyan doesn't count), Kansas, New Hampshire, Alaska, Hawaii

K-Mack,
Don't forget Sewanee and Rhodes in TN, a visit to Sewanee's campus is worth the trip. Also, you should be able to cross Arkansas off the list once Hendrix adds football.
I'm also reminded that Plymouth State is in New Hampshire.
Such is the disadvantage of trying to traverse the country's map in your head instead of actually looking at one.
My states list is looking a lot more with so many one- and two-team states hovering around D3's major nerve centers.
So there are 16 states with no D3 teams football, or there are 17 with Hendrix soon to change Arkansas over.
Agreed, exmajor. Sewanee is pretty darned close to what God intended a college campus to look like. Too bad it's so far out in the middle of BFE. Beautiful place, though.
I talked to God earlier today. He told me he's pretty proud of Carnegie Mellon.
And Redlands. He likes the palm trees.
I've been to Carnegie Mellon. Our gods must be different. ;)

Pretty sure there's only one. Clearly he just tells you whatever you want to hear.
LOL. Right you are.
CMU is nice, but if you've not been to Sewanee, you don't know what you're missing. Looks like it came straight out of Oxford, my friend.

I'm not slandering Sewanee, or really even saying Carnegie Mellon is the best.
Just saw an opportunity for a joke and I ran with it.

More worried about slandering Sewanee than Slandering God??? I'll step out of the room and let the lightning (and Thunder!) do it's work. :D :o :o
I've seen W&J plus 56 teams they've played in D-III.
Sometime, when I have nothing to do, I'll list them, from NNA to Juniata, from NCWesleyan to Trine, from UMHB to Rowan, and Ithaca to HSU.
And, other than '92 & '94 Staggs, that doesn't count the games I've seen that W&J wasn't playing in.
I guess I'm old!

My List isn't impressive at all but here goes... it should be fun:
Brockport State, Cortland State, Ithaca, St. John Fisher, John Carroll, New Jersey, New Jersey City (when they existed), Thiel, McDaniel, Buffalo State, Utica, Rowan, Montclair State, Wesley, Frostburg State, Kean, Springfield, Mt. Ida.
18 is all I can think of at the moment..
I am going to have to go back and look through some old books to remember all the teams I have seen Wesley play over the years. And the number of stadiums we traveled to. But I do know we went from Boston to Indianapolis to North Carolina

Those games definitely count. :)
Sounds like you have a good list if you ever get time to jot them down.
In England they have the "Doing the 92" club for people that have visited all 92 professional football (soccer) teams stadiums. I think it would be interesting to find who has been to the most D3 stadiums as well as the most states.
While I have seen dozens of D3 teams play. I have only been to 7 stadiums...and 1 of those doesn't count now because that team has moved on to D2. I have been to Dubuque, Loras, Luther, Wartburg, Coe, Cornell, and Upper Iowa...who now play in D2...but not very well!!!
Pat, I counted '92 & '94 Stagg bowls. I've watched (TV) several other Stagg Bowls, but didn't count those teams in my total.
