The simplified info from Wikipedia...
Tsinghua University (THU; simplified Chinese: 清华大学; traditional Chinese: 清華大學; pinyin: Qīnghuá Dàxué), or Qinghua University, is a university in Beijing, China. The school is one of the nine universities of the C9 League. It was established in 1911, originally under the name "Tsinghua Xuetang". The school was renamed the "Tsinghua School" in 1912. The university section was founded in 1925 and the name "National Tsinghua University" adopted in 1928. With a motto of Self-Discipline and Social Commitment, Tsinghua University describes itself as being dedicated to academic excellence, the well-being of Chinese society and to global development.[1] Today, most national and international rankings place Tsinghua as one of the best universities in mainland China.
The Lopata now going world wide to bring in outstanding Student Athletes . It will be a thrill to welcome this team all the way from China to Wash U and St. Louis......

WashU has a close academic relationship with Tsinghua University through the engineering department. The Chinese university coming to Lopata probably arose after the trip that Tyler Nading and Cameron Smith took around the time of the Bejing Olympics:

After this year Rust should seriously consider leaving D3 and joining the NAIA and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference with Fisk, Tougaloo, SUNO, Xavier, Dillard, Voorhees, and Edward Waters!

The front page news sounds really exciting. I'd be interested to see who else will be playing in that tourney. I wonder who Point will be playing. 10 teams? Will it be 6 men and 4 women? I don't think I'll make the trip out there, but sounds like a good time!

Quote from: Pat on FacebookNot all of the contracts are back yet but these are the commitments. It's a classic format. Men: UW-Stevens Point (as featured on the D3hoops front page right now), Whitworth, Ramapo, Colorado College, Ripon, Scranton. Women: Amherst, St. Norbert, Bates, Kenyon.
Scranton is playing Ramapo and Ripon, so that eliminates them from playing the Point.

Here's a question for the site experts: who has the toughest non-conference schedule in the country in 2010-11?
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps has one of the tougher schedules for a west-coast team.
They open with two NAIA-D1 teams in Azuza Pacific (NAIA Runner up) and Concordia, CA (top 3 ranked team for much of last year)
They also have games against Trinity (TX), Whitworth, Chapman, Franklin & Marshall, with a possible matchup in St Louis vs Wash U.
Its definetly one of the most difficult schedules for CMS in the last 10 or so years. Probably doesn't compare to a WIAC or CCIW type schedule, but it's a step up for west coast teams.

11/22/2010 Trinity (Texas) @ Whitworth 5:30 PM
11/24/2010 Carthage VS Whitworth IN Honolulu, Hawaii 8:00 PM HT
11/27/2010 Luther VS Whitworth IN Honolulu, Hawaii 3:00 PM HT
12/19/2010 Whitworth @ Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Claremont, Calif. 3:00 PM
Hey Pat,
Where's the schedule located for the d3hoops classic?

Thanks Pat. When I looked, I was looking on my phone, must have just missed that with all the small wording! ;D
just a quick hit to reflect two fun points on 2011-2012 schedules
Every couple of years I try to keep up with the real stat men of the site... (ie Knight-slappy), and collect all schedules and play with the data... YES, we will have a running D3 vs non D3 groups this season!!!... Well as we have almost hit Oct. 15, I've found all but 3 D3 schedules on school sites (with a couple here on D3hoops)!!!! Surprizingly, the 3 not yet posted are each relatively main stream D3 schools..
The last 3 are.... Goucher, Guilford, and SUNYIT (though the SUNYIT SID sent a nice note of apology as they evidently had been very recent staff changes).... nothing back from Goucher or Guilford... I'll have to keep hounding!!!
The most amusing fantastic fact learned came off the schedule of everyone's favorite D3/NAIA/USCAA program, UMPI.... the University of Maine Presque Isle.... reviewing their slate, I fell off the couch to see they were playing, at Presque Isle, what i thought might be the powerhouse of the midwest... Holland College...
Now then, was this Matt Neil's sly plan to disguise the Dutchmen in an effort to gain a 26th game? Or perhaps he was sending the frosh/JV team on the 1100 mile trip to get some experience. Or maybe this was a bunch of Seminarians, not wanting to become another one of the Concordias, starting up their program with a unique identity. Alas, no such luck, the Hope Dutch will not have to compete with another school for patronage at its games, no new schedule at the Civic Center, and Flying Dutchfan will not have to figure out how to see both Hope and Holland college games on the same nights....it's the Holland College Hurricanes.. from Prince Edward Island, Canada
