SUNYAC teams start playing tomorrow with the first game being Elmira at Cortland. The question this year is if any one can slow down Oneonta, they graduated a ton but tend to reload year after year. If no one can stop them they will win their 5th SUNYAC Championship in 6 years.

Interesting info that Buff State went over to england for their preseaon http://www.buffalostateathletics.com/news/2016/8/2/mens-soccer-buffalo-states-soccer-teams-to-open-2016-campaigns-in-england.aspx (http://www.buffalostateathletics.com/news/2016/8/2/mens-soccer-buffalo-states-soccer-teams-to-open-2016-campaigns-in-england.aspx)
SLU up 2-0 at the half vs Brockport. Overall SLU is the much stronger side, very technical, and just out playing brockport. Brockport had a few chances one hitting the cross bar from a free kick on the 18. Other than that they look disorganized which is probably due to them being a young team and the way SLU can move the ball around.
Also, the video quality is excellent.
SLU and RPI have top 5 video quality in the country. IMO
Opening day of the SUNYAC has finally arrived. The biggest game of this weekend is easily Cortland vs Oneonta this afternoon. This game could and probably will effect who has a shot at the regular season title.

I haven't seen either play but my guess would be 2-1 oneonta. I am going to try and watch that game side by side with the brockport one

What is up with Brockport this season? They seem to be struggling. Do they have injuries? To many dependable seniors graduate? bad luck? What gives...

They lose their starting keeper of the past 4 years, 2 starting defenders, their top midfielder, top goal scorer, and two impact players coming off the bench, their associate head coach of about 13 years, and had 9 freshman and one transfer come in. Their first couple of games they just seemed disorganized and play like a young team.
Oneonta v Cortland 0-0 about 30 minutes in. A good feisty rivalry game with both teams playing pretty well and each with a couple of chances. I see 2 NCAA tournament teams here with maybe 1 of them getting to the Sweet 16 but not sure I see a Final 4 team here as of yet.
I forgot how dominant Oneonta was last year. In 9 conference games they went 8-1-0 but amazingly only let up 2GA in 9 games with 7 shutouts. That is really impressive.
1-1 at half time for brockport and fredonia. Both teams look like a mess and can't string 5 passes together.
Oneonta has come out of half-time FLYING...They go up 1-0 on Cortland with a nice goal after receiving nice service from the flank #18 snaps a header into the corner of the goal. Cortland caught napping defensively as the defender did not really challenge him. Oneonta really moving the ball on a string with some nice beautiful crisp passing all over the field.
Oneonta up 2-0 now and are in complete control of this game. I am disappointed in Cortland's effort and defending. They are playing waaaay to casual for my taste and do not look the least bit interested in this game. Oneonta is the better team and I might have to re-assess as if Oneonta plays like this they can get back to the NCAA Final 4. 2nd Half Oneonta has been impressive.
Brockport is looking terrible, going to be a long season for them. Oneonta up 3-0 now and flying. I'm hoping i can catch some of the plattsburgh game tomorrow to see if they could keep up with oneonta.
3-0 Oneonta over Cortland. Total domination especially 2nd Half. They looked very sharp. If you didn't watch the game and just glanced at the box score, you would think it was an even game besides the score. Shots / Corners and SOG looked somewhat even but in reality they dominated Cortland. That's why it is hard to compare teams by glancing at just box scores. I am guessing Byrne would play SLU in the regular season because he would play anyone anywhere. I wonder if SLU does not want to play them because it would be a great non-conference game to see how each team stacks up. Maybe they do not play regular season because they figure they will see each other in the NCAA's.
Last time they played non-conference was 2011, and then ended up meeting each other in the Sweet 16. With Durocher as AD I expect to see them on them frequently on the schedule in the coming years.
A two day early season event with two doubleheaders involving 1-2 top SUNYACs, SLU, Rochester, and a top 4 NESCAC would be fantastic.
After seeing a little of the plattsburgh game today I have to say that oneonta is still the team to beat
Halftime for Brockport and Oneonta. It is actually pretty even with brockport holding a 4-3 advantage in shots
Brockport and Oneonta still tied at 0 and headed into OT. Brockport still hold a 9-8 advantage in shots.
Other updated scores:
Cortland 3 Plattsburgh 0
Fredonia 2 Buff State 1
Geneseo 2 New Paltz 1
Potsdam 2 Oswego 1
Brockport has a PK saved in the first OT and they end up tied which is a fair result for how both teams played
What is up with Plattsburgh? 4-0 loss to Cortland followed by a 3-0 loss at home to Oneonta.
And I'm starting to think that Oneonta is right there with Chicago and Rowan as a top 3 that has separated from other contenders.

Last regular season games this weekend.
Cortland, Oneonta, and Buff State are locks for the playoffs
Osewgo is already eliminated from the playoffs.
Brockport MUST win both games this weekend as anything less will definitely eliminate them
New Paltz, Fredonia, and Geneseo all control their fate and must win to sure up their positions
Plattsburgh and Potsdam must win both games and hope that New Paltz drops both this weekend to have a shot
I think I got everything, with that here's the schedule this weekend

Brockport @ Plattsburgh
Fredonia @ New Paltz
Geneseo @ Potsdam
Buffalo State @ Oneonta
SATURDAY
Fredonia @ Oneonta
Brockport @ Potsdam
Buffalo State @ New Paltz
Geneseo @ Plattsburgh

Great PK Thriller at Fredonia as Fredonia and Plattsburgh are tied 4-4 with 1 kick left for each....
Fredonia beats Plattsburgh in PK's to end Plattsburgh's season unless they applied for the ECAC's...Fredonia lives to see another day...
