Title: 501c3 Football Teams
Post by: Gray Fox on September 21, 2019, 10:32:34 PM
Lewis-Clark Valley has a 501c3 organization to play football.
It is a state school in Idaho.

It's actually not a school -- it's a joint club team between two schools. Not sure if having a non-profit organization means anything, but this is definitely a club team.

But they claim they are a NCAA Affiliate.  What is that?

Anyone can build a website and make claims. Here is the definition of an NCAA affiliated member:

"An affiliated member is a nonprofit coaches or sports association whose function and purpose are directly related to one or more sports in which the NCAA conducts championships or an emerging sport for women, or an association that consists of college/university administrators and has a direct connection to either the NCAA or its member institutions."

You can probably see that doesn't qualify here.
