What a conference finish. No way I thought RHIT would get swept. Congrats to both Franklin and Defiance for making the tournament.

It looks like the jinx of the regular season champion not winning the conference tournament may be coming to an end the way Manchester has been playing, but that is why they play the game.

Franklins tough loss to RHIT yesterday with a score of 6 - 5 may have hurt their chances of making the conference tournament.

With conference playing ending this week it looks like Manchester and Anderson are in. Leaving RHIT, Transy, Defiance and Franklin battling it out for the last two spots with only 1 1/2 games separating the 3rd place to 6th place teams.

It looks like Franklin's only chance to get in would be to sweep Anderson and then would need Defiance to win two of the three games against Transy.

I like RHIT's chances of getting in by finishing conference against Earlham.

Congratulations to Franklins freshman pitcher Hayden Cleveland for breaking the schools single game strikeout record by recording 15 K's in nine innings against Mount St. Joseph this past weekend.

His 15 stikeouts broke Franklin College's previous strikeout record of 14 posted by David Verdeyen in 2003 and matched by Andy Clark in 2008.

A little story on former Franklin College pitcher Andy Clark who had previously retired from the Frontier League this year.

The way I see things, there's three teams with any hope of winning the conference.

5. Total winning percentage by non-conference opponents.

6. The team which has not gone to the NCAA Football Playoffs for the longest period of time (Big 10 Rose Bowl Rule).

7. Rankings from the AFCA Division III National Poll.

8. Blind Draw.  One lot shall be marked AQ and all others will be blank.  The draw will be conducted by the conference Commissioner and SID at the Heartland Conference Office.  The draw will be made in alphabetical order of the tied schools.  A coach or representative from each school involved may attend the drawing

Did they change something up at Manchester, never had any problem at the football games drinking out of the can or bottle? The only place I was asked to pour mine out of a can was at MSJ walking from the parking structure to the field even though the MSJ fans were drinking out of a keg right beside me.

Just like Griz-Backer said keeping it in a cup is the best idea, that is what got me through four years of baseball at all the schools.

Noticed where Derek Eitel was assigned to the Reno Aces(AAA) Pacific Coast League from Visalia(High A) on 07/03/11 and pitched that day.

Matchup in the frontier league between former D3 Pitchers Wade Kitchens(Chapman) of the Evansville Otters and Andy Clark(Franklin) of the Florence Freedom.
