Yep, the plaque presentation took WAY too long.  That could have been shortened to 5 minutes easily.  Some people drive in from out of town to the game and work on Thursday morning.....

On the plus side tonight should be more manageable timewise.  And I expect to see a few more illogical substitutions tonight per usual.

Mascots... welcome to MIAA hoops in the 21st century.

As far as a Hope mascot what is the Devos green hoppy frog thing for?  Seems like all we have to do is put an orange cape on that thing, attach clashing blue t-shirts and orange shorts (or vice-versa), some ugly orange/blue socks/shoes and call it good.  And put the mysterious roman numeral 3 on the back of his jersey while we're at it.

Will a mascot with great prowess in leaping ability be more fitting for a Men's basketball team?  Does it matter what the mascot is to entertain the children sitting in the stands?  Is there room for both 'hoppy the frog' and a 'flying dutchman' squirrel?  What ramifications and other questions do we need to address before making this large and important decision?

I know I personally would hate to see the wrong choice be put into effect and then regret it later. ::)

FDF-

I don't know man, I want this information to be wrong.  I want to see a 50 point blowout over patsy madonna.  I'm about ready to call the sentinel up myself and find out.

Someone at Hope who reads these boards all day long, please page Tom Renner and get us the scoop.

Rats.  I just heard through the grapevine that the b-ball games at Devos were cancelled due to inclimate weather.  Guess I'll be watching Hoosiers tonight.  What will I do tomorrow...

I was also at meet the dutchmen and boy the team looks improved.   Score was about 100ish Dutchmen to 80ish All Stars.

Flying Dutch Fan is right on the money.  Devos is very, very nice.  I sat in the reserve seats and there will be a lot of happy fannies.    Besides the great sound system, the court is well lit,  shot clocks on the baskets, scoreboard good.   Bathrooms nice with doors on stalls.  Nice looking weight room.  One complaint:  time-out/substitution buzzer way too loud (I have sensitive ears).

Other..   VanIwaarden was the game announcer and he did a great job.   Had some former players in the crowd per usual.   Plenty of fine Dutch ladies in attendance as you'd expect  :-*.    Kleersynder was on the Berghorst All Stars.

Parked next to the Martha Miller center and wow.  Devos and Martha really spruce up that side of the Hope campus.  Incredible.

Interesting. Does anyone know who is on the Berghorst all star team this year ?

Mmmm, Hope tickets.  I better get mine tomorrow.  Ok, not to get too far off topic... Speaking of the Devos Fieldhouse is anyone else hearing statements like "Why did they only put in 3100 seats"?  Come Come now, Does anyone know if Calvin has a hard time filling their 4200 seats in their fieldhouse ??

Some of the 'talk of the town' in Holland for years has been how "hard it is to get season tickets to the Hope games."   I'm not a math major but 100+ bucks for season tickets seems like you'd want all the seats you could possibly fill.

Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to being in the best D3 field house in the nation this season!
