Not much to left to say, as everyone has covered everything.  I can't think of another word, except for OUTSTANDING.

An outstanding tradition.

An outstanding victory.

An outstanding opponent.

An outstanding Coach.

And an outstanding group of student athletes.

Compliments to all at D3Football and Ric MountUnionFootball.com.

And finally, a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you and your families.  May God Bless.

I think it is funny how some are trying to downplay LK and the Raider's "tradition" and history over the last 15 years.  I would agree with them that tradition and history don't amount to a hill of beans if the team in question went 6-5 for the year.  I would also agree with them, indeed this is 2005, and it is the 2005 UWW team and 2005 MUC team that will be facing off on Saturday.  Glad we at least in agreement on which year we are in.

With that said, I think tradition, history, pride, etc., are pretty significant factors in a game like Saturday's.  I don't profess to know as much about football as Ric or Seventiesraiders, but in a game where statistically speaking, both teams are pretty comparable, the history of MUC is a rather significant rallying cry.

A program's tradition makes a player commit himself not only to the man next to him, but to the names of those players who went before him.

Tradition pushes a team not to be better than, but  to honor their past.

Tradition carries a team during the ebbs and flows of a game that aren't going particularly well for them.

Tradition makes players huddle up before kickoff and feel as though every team that went to the Stagg Bowl is huddled up with them.

Tradition gives a team confidence that they can win, because they have done so so many times before.

May be considered by some as something akin to voodu, but this is a game of advantages, and in this regard, I give it to MUC

All the best to both teams, and safe travels to everyone going.

Go Raiders.

And frankly voice if you want to talk about arrogance just go through the west region board from Saturday through Monday.  For crying out loud you haven't won anything yet but by reading what the posters have to say we might as well save our time and not even go to Salem.

Ric,

First, thanks for the awesome website.

Second, I am glad I am not the only one (as others have said) that has the same thoughts.

Enjoy the weekend.  Hope to run into you.  I will make it a point to introduce myself.

Hi Everybody,

Long time reader first time poster.  Feel compelled to stand up to be counted, considering I have grown tired of the Foghorn Leghorn supporters of UWW.

I don't recall a Stagg Bowl bound team (correction, their fans) as full of themselves as the Rowan Profs were in 1993.  I seem to recall back then that MUC was just a little college in Ohio that was going to be culled by the gigantic and ubertalented Profs.

Wish I was good at predictions, but I am not, so I will leave it at that.   The ChickenLittles of UWW may be all that, but something tells me that for MUC, the best is yet to come.

Go Raiders.

I think you are confusing the NJ Press and maybe KC Keeler with Rowan fans.  The press and Keeler didn't think much of Mount's chances.

There wasn't any post patterns back in 1993.  What I remember during the tailgate were two sets of fans (Mount/Rowan) that were happy to be in the title game.  I talked to a bunch of Mount fans before the game and had a good time.

Admittedly I didn't know much about Mount Union in 1993, but I figured the Raiders must be good because they got to the Stagg Bowl.  I don't recall the majority of Rowan or Mount fans being full of themselves.

Point taken.  Didn't mean to offend JT.

Apparently even the most light-hearted posts suggesting that the Warhawks MAY lose will hurt one's karma.

I would to think what would happen if I posted a predicition like ...
