Dordt did beat Northwestern this week, so maybe the RCA footballers are trending down?

Now, when can we get close to the Flying Dutchpersons? I'm sure some Knight alums will see this 3-0 start as an indication of a close game this fall.

And 20 years ago these things happened more often, before we had as many conference games and as much emphasis on in-region/D-III opponents. Our basketball rule still applies for basketball, though -- there aren't any non-scholarship D-I basketball programs.May I be that guy? Ivys are D1 and non-scholarship, IIRC.

If you're able, please consider giving the video a thumbs up on YouTube and hopefully it can find an audience beyond those normally plugged into D3 hoops.

I do like yore supporting Holland's coach–well done.

With that quality, Holland needed to put the game out of reach, which didn't happen.

February 16, 2025, 06:42:18 PMQuote from: ziggy on February 14, 2025, 12:48:33 PMFor any Calvin fans wondering about a "rooting guide" as games play out down the stretch, here is what I have come up with.preach
Root for Calvin to win any game they play. Duh.
Root for all of Calvin's non-conference opponents to win. Again, kind of duh, but the higher up the ranks any opponent can go the better the wins will look and the less the hit taken for the losses.
In games not involving Calvin, it is probably to their benefit for Hope and Trine to not stumble again. Both teams are currently in range for the added "quality win bonus" so a loss by either would be more detrimental than a normal conference game where things "come out in the wash" with one team losing and one team winning.
It would also be beneficial for Adrian to not lose either of their games against Alma or Kalamazoo. The Alma wins are currently excluded from Calvin's resume because they are beyond the minimum wins dial and adding in those additional wins would hurt Calvin's overall NPI. That means the Alma win the other night was bad news as Calvin saw no benefit while their win against Kalamazoo took a hit. Ideally now both the games against Alma AND Kalamazoo will fall off Calvin's resume while Adrian looks a little better.

Quote from: oldknight on January 30, 2025, 12:24:04 AMThis was the most intense basketball game I have attended in many years, raising my blood pressure a notch throughout its course. Calvin's win at Hope last week was pretty intense too, but this tilt against Trine exceeded the Rivalry game I believe. What are folks' thoughts on the officiating?
Consistent?
Was too much physical play allowed?
Did it seem like an NCAA tournament game? Where the officials allow very physical play.
