Randi did hit some clutch shots toward the end of the game, however she didn't blow me away with her performance.  She missed a lot of shots and had several turnovers.  Randi doesn't shoot a good percentage from the floor and throws up many bad shots.
Plus, you don't give the POY award to someone based on their performance in one game.  The award should go to an individual who had a great year all season which led to team success.  What's more important, the fact that Randi averaged 2 more points per game cause she took an extra 10 shots every game, or the fact that the two Mary Washington players mentioned played a team game and ended the season with 7(and probably more) wins then Marymount.

This is my first time posting on this site but I follow CAC basketball and just wanted to comment on the POY selection.  Randi Jones is a decent player but I don't think she was deserving of POY honors.
Mary Washington had a phenomenal year and I feel that either Debbie Bruen or Liz Hickey deserved POY.  Mary Wash was one of the best teams in the country and dominated the CAC's during the regular season with the only slip-up coming in the Conference Championship.  Bruen averaged 12 points and 8 boards a game for one of the best teams in the country and Hickey averaged 10 and 8 while also dominating the defensive side of the ball.  Randi averaged 14 a game but took 200 more shots a game and shot 20 percentage points less then both of the aforementioned players.  Give Bruen or Hickey 200 more shots on the year and they would easily be averaging 20 ppg.
