The HPU game probably isnt the best game to guage whether or not a player is "dangerous" running the ball...Hardin Simmons ran for I believe 502 yards against them...UMHB was also able to blitz very liberally against an HPU team that was obviously undermanned...game plans change when you arent threatened by an opponent...and as for HSU playing girly men you are exactly right...every thursday the team gets their nails done together instead of practicing tackling drills....Are you kidding me? The defense injured 2 of your running backs in the first game? Please feel free to say something meaningful at some point Cru fans

ha thanks minni! i was also told josh knox might have a chance to go play on the same team in italy that matt is going to play for although thats just hearsay...ya my brother says hes gonna lose some weight now that his playing days are over...by the way he was nominated for lineman of the year but apparently 2nd team is the same thing?

Can anyone explain to me how Q. Jones is 2nd team all conference? He was second in the conference in yds, TD's and yards/ game. Also where is the love for Zavious Robbins? He leads the conference in kick return yards and is 2nd in yards/return and is nowhere to be found on the list behind 4 other returners? At least honorable mention would seem necessary. Also Jordan Daniel at 2nd team just doesnt seem right. He led HSU lineman in pancake blocks with a torn mcl that he only missed one game for. His only game that he graded out at less than 90 percent was the UMHB game and that was after missing a week and a half of practice and the MC game due to the torn mcl. He was dominant in every other game he played in averaging about 10 pancakes a game. Justin Feaster led the conference in passing efficiency(well behind josh saenz who only had 31 passing attempts) and was third in yds/game and second in passing touchdowns and is second team? I understand HSU had a down year but wheres the recognition for the players who deserve to be honored for the things they did? Just because they had a defense that struggled doesnt mean they deserve to be left out of the honors deserved

well i said his speed was rare to the conference...but i might have to take that back seeing as how UMHB's linebackers seem to be able to catch anyone...jerrell freeman is similar to a vacuum cleaner...so to make it short his speed is impressive for a QB

Watched HSU's last 7 on 7 this past wednesday and although several key players werent present I was extremely impressed with 2 of the transfers. Adam Podzemny from UTEP runs some amazing routes. His cuts are very deceptive and has the ability to get secondary turned around very easily.  Also Clint Bricker from SFA has also been equally impressive. His speed and size are unique to this conference and he has a very strong arm. It should be interesting and fun to see these guys come in and play with the likes of Mychal Carrylo Matt Fields Q jones and all the other returners.

Does anyone have any other info on transfers to the other schools in the ASC?

Jordan Neal has been in Sweden since mid april playing football for the Lihmahn Griffins in Malmo. He actually just got back to Abilene today for the midseason break for Swedens national team to take part in a World Cup like football tournament. His wedding is this saturday and then he will have a month before heading back to Sweden for the rest of his season there. Josh Kubiak is a representative of the US national team taking part in the tournament

speaking of HSU's quarterback issues, Yes replacing Jordan is a huge feat. He was my roomate the last 2 years before leaving for sweden..He is a tremendous athlete and ive never seen someone with the dedication he has to his cause. He left everything he had on the field. Im now roomates with Clint Bricker the transfer expected to take over at QB. Clint transferred from Stephen F Austin after dislocating his shoulder in the 3rd game of the season there. He will be a redshirt sophomore here at HSU and Playing and starting 3 games for a D1AA program should have a tremendous effect on how ready he is to play. His work ethic rivals that of my former roomate and i have the utmost confidence that hell be ready to step in and play. Oh did i mention hes 6'2 222 and runs a 4.56 40?

USC actually had 12 men on the field during the play when they had that penalty called....and illegal participation is a 15 yard penalty so even if there is any way to justify the refs calling that penalty last week there is no way to justify only penalizing us 5 yards...they either made a call that doesnt exist last week or they just announced the wrong penalty...

can anyone give me a good reason why trinity is second in the regional rankings? It seems like UMHB should be second followed by hsu then trinity considering trinity lost to a team that both UMHB and  HSU beat by 3 touchdowns and 4 touchdowns respectively ??? ???....just wondering what everyone elses take on this is and i wasnt sure if this had been brought up before but any feedback on this would be great

All this talk about the UMHB offense being sub par I looked up the conference standings they have scored the 2nd most points in the conference behind Mississippi College. I remember earlier in the week somebody posting saying the UMHB offense is never really brought up yet they just keep putting up points I guess that is true after all.
thats funny they had 200 yards of total offense so I guess the offense wasnt what really won the game for them their defense played great and UMHB had to go less than 20 yards on 3 occasions to score so I dont know many offenses that wouldnt put some points up if their made that many plays...also HSU got in their orange formation on the last series which is 5 wide which forces mhb to cover  and not bring their tough blitzes and it paid off also hsu took 3 shots downfield the entire game all completions!!!just some food for thought as well!! :o

so we have to punish the offense for the defense giving them a short field
no not at all im just saying im not convinced the offense is that good  the only had one long drive the entire game and 200 total yards but i am convinced the defense is that good and yes maybe they should have gone to that formation earlier...i just think umhb made corrections at halftime and adjusted well and HSU didnt and the crusaders came up with huge playes
