Hoops Fan,

First, BooBalls isn't pre-anything.  He is.  Second, he isn't saying you shouldn't put down other people, but rather the judgements made by JeffRookie unto me are wrong/unfounded.  Third, if you classify the argument as ridiculous, you didn't expect there to be a line of reasoning that you would find to be not ridiculous.  Therefore, there was nothing ironic about the previously mentioned post.  Fourth, Gordon Street? Ah, yes, Gordon Street. I use to know a girl who lived there, when I was young. Not a day goes by that I don't think of that girl and the promise that I made which I will always keep. That one perfect day on Gordon Street. That's uh five blocks up, two over.

Verdad, anyway we can get an SPF breakdown of the juniors of the team?  Perhaps the historian could do some more research and give us a team by team break down of the rest of the NESCAC.  I could really go for a side by side comparison of something entirely useless right about now.

diehardfan, environmental science degree and a tae kwon do master of a father...any other high points of your life you would like to point out to us?  Perhaps when you first gathered the courage to finally jump off the high dive?  Good grades you may have gotten?  Pictures of trophies from rec league level soccer?

To the haters...you may think I'm "an asshole," you may think my humor is on the level of a one Gallagher.  Since you have ignored the groundbreaking work with giving the audience panchos, I will first take that as a compliment.  He was given several Comedy Central specials.  And I remind you that this is the same network that pulled "Kids in the Hall" from the air in favor of MADTV.  I post here for my adoring public, which...from time to time laugh at the inane things I post here.  So I would like to say the following:

Please calm down.  I went and bought me an outfit today that cost me a lot of money, because I figured that Vigo was gonna win.  I don't know how you all see it, but when it comes to the children, Vigo is for the children.  I teach the children.  Puffy is good, but Vigo is the best.  I want you all to know that this is ODV, and I love you all, peace.

Your holiness...while I may be better than this I didnt expect an outright attack on the way I look based on the fact that I criticized the way he calls games, writes articles, talks about the team.

My attacks on williams are the most general and outlandish statements known to man.  Everyone on this board needs to realize that everything that I post is one joke after another.

Jeffrookie...thanks for the advice.  To quote diehardfan  :) ;) :D ;D >:( :( :o 8) ??? ::) :P :-[ :-X :-\ :-* :'(

alsooooooooooo...while clearly that cartoon looks exactly like me you could have at least given me a goatee via mspaint.  Spraypaint would have done...you might as well show how little a life you have while maintaing the ethical journalism you strive for.

So if it wasnt you who called me Egon/vigo in passing (and after someone could actually identify you as the other guy who calls the game on the radio) I really have no idea who you are...neat, neat, neat, neat.  In that case you may continue to call me ugly while hiding behind your computer screen. HOORAY FOR YOU!

p.s. me pointing out that you sound like a jerk...doesnt make me think I am better than you in a social sense here at Amherst, but just moraly.  Clearly a profound difference worth noting.  The fact that you have gone on and on judging me by the way way I look clearly, in no way reinforces that notion.

Also...I'm really interested in seeing the quotes from the team you use in your next article.  I am sure there will be a lot of them.

First...Pat Coleman...I dont think I insulted the kid personally.

Now...Bill...the fact that you would go through my facebook pictures and found one to your liking from over a year ago is both flattering and troubling.  But if what I said got under your skin that much...then perhaps this is a wake up call for you.  I'm not even sure what to say besides the fact that you seem like a sad person.  I gave you the option in my post...its ok if you are so worried by what the likes of Pat Coleman think about your radio broadcast that you become overly negative.  I understand that...but at the same time everyone else just seems not to like you because of it.  It's the choice you made...God knows I won't deny you of that choice.  All I did was point out the way you are perceived by the people who read what you say here who are from Amherst.

Now that that is out of the way...coming at me for how I look, my relationship with some of my closest friends at Amherst.  I am not even sure how to react.  I dont know why you decided that the kids that I live with happen to be friends with me because I suck up to them...but if you could offer me any insight into my personal life I would greatly appreciate it.  Perhaps you could also adress the other kids who go to all the basketball games and went down to Salem to support their friends.  Feel free to judge them based on the way they look and let them know personally if their friends allow them to hang out with them because they "suck up to them."

I wouldn't say my social life depends on them.  But rather our social life depends on my speakers, our bar, and grinding butts.  It's a beatiful relationship really.

In closing if you think I'm an "asshole" and went through my pictures...googled images based on the meaningless garbage I post here done so only to get a rise out of you and people like you in order to subsequently laugh at you along with my friends.  Then thank you...you really have made it all worth while.

W :oW

I post telling this kid to take it easy on his classmates and he insults the way I look.  Love your passion...I'd make fun of you too if someone didn't have to tell me who you were.  I really don't know your name...and before you came up to me in Salem, and had to turn around and ask who you were...I didn't know what you look like.

As far as sucking up to the guys on the basketball team...You can ask my roommates...I'm not very nice to them.  They let me be friends with them because of my remarkable cuddling and dancing ability (seriously just ask.)  Again, jeffrookie...really love the passion.  If I take the time to ask someone your name, perhaps I will post later making fun of you.  As far as me being an asshole...you may be right.

love you, bye.

maaaaaaaaaaaan, am i bored...

Hasanova, I am not sure what your post had to do with anything...the british royal navy or division 3 mens basketball.  Seriously, it had not an ounce of worth.  You and diehardfan can form some type of duo of feeling superior when you conflate typos and spelling errors.  Also...staccato means abrupt.  (obviously also being a musical term.)  It is infrequent that someone on this board attempts to sound smart and fails in the manner in which you just have.  bravo

Also, remember when jeffrookie would dog on o'shea's playing during the regular season...and then remember when it was his defense and work within the amherst offense that was critical in the championship...orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr remember when jeffrookie would post criticizing the play of amherst players as if they were his favorite professional team when in fact they are just his classmates?  It is this bizarre idea that a student can look at these guys (his classmates) as I do when say...my favorite nfl team's offensive line jump offsides and I scream and curse at the tv.

It's Williams that go to their games for love of the school and the sport.  We're supposed to be normal remember...If you want to sound like an impartial journalist while working for the radio powerhouse that is wamh or get your karma points really high by saying negative things about the few kids that actually still throw parties on this campus ...that's your perogative.  Just don't let me or the rest of the kids who actually know and care about these guys hear it at a game.  Chances are someone will tell you to sit on it...The only one who is allowed to say negative things towards Dan O'Shea is me when he is screaming about video games before noon and wakes me up...or Fletcher when he won't come to the diner with me, dave and jones...or Wheeler for going to the library too often. yadadadada?!?!?!

Don't feel like you need to defend yourself, apologize or whatever...you'll always be second to mrmike...

All the way live from the NESCAC board its vigoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...

Let me break this debate down for you right quick.  I agree with those who say it goes back to the coach.  You can say what you want about the team's warmups.  (they looked ridiculous to someone who had never seen them before...cocky doesn't begin to describe it.)  You can be cocky and still show some sportsmanship.  The head coach needed to get his guys on their feet...whether you walk over to the other team or not, when someone is coming over to shake your hand...you stand up.  The circumstances make vwc look even worse by comparison...

Now, I don't know this coach at all...but let me just say again how it looked from someone who hadn't seen this team play before.  Let me bring everyone back to Dan O'Shea's fourth foul.  The game had been called completely inconsistently up until this point but both teams were in the double bonus somewhere around the 8.5 minute mark.  The moment the whistle is blown...on a very picky foul, the vwc head coach turns to the crowd and leads them in a mocking applause of the refs for making the call.  At this point his team was down 20.  The cstv announcers made reference to how ridiculous the coach looked at the time...they also didn't point out the fact that on generally every play one of his guards would either palm the ball or travel.  Suffice to say, his team is down twenty (and maybe both teams had gripes,)  it's clear that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in the case of vwc.

and diehardfan...my dad could beat up your dad   :P ::) ??? 8) :o :( >:( ;D :D :D :D

Hasanova, are you sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the "f" and "d" keys are located directly next to each other on a standard "qwerty" keyboard?

Dman, you are in fact correct that Williams won a championship first.  The Yankees-Red Sox analogy comes to mind first, but I think the following is more accurate to describe that of we which we are referring.  While the British Navy was a global powerhouse before the United States existed...something tells me I'd take us against them these days.

Keep dreaming that your kids have career days everytime they play anyone good.  The rest of us will bank on Olson working the ball inside to the guy who is two inches taller than your tallest player as well as the mutants over at williams unable to entertain a kid with normal social skills enough for him to choose you guys over us.

WHATTUP WHATTUP WHATTUP...PARTY PEOPLE...IN THE PLACE TO BE....

Hello, to all mutants and non-mutants alike.  Sitting at my computer with literally nothing to do.  (I feel like when Hixon spoke about how he respects those with disabilities after his recent injury.  Now I can identify with someone who is able to post on d3hoops.com from work.)

I have come to you all to speak to two central points.  First, and foremost I would like everyone to remember the first post by yours truly.  Although made by my more friendly alter-ego it was on the subject of a one Mike Salerno.  I made the argument that if the jeffs were going to be able to win it all in Salem it was going to be on the hard work and heart of young sal.  Funny, how it all comes full circle and the prophecy of VIGO has come true.  I can't wait until the near future when I get to point out that you all laughed at me for boasting of the talents of Marcus "Ya Boy" Bradley.  I won't even post after Kevin Hopkins wins NESCAC player of the year...that will almost be as easy as making fun of the fact that it has recently been pointed out to me that Pat Coleman always wears the same button down shirt.    (woops, too late)

I will give you right now the key ingredients to the jeffs championship this weekend weekend so everyone around the country can attempt to replicate it:

you take one part babs wheeler leg kick, two parts timbodawg, 2 tablespoons of shea's forearm, a pinch of football mike (5 seconds call anyone?) a splash of the global hyphy movement, mix it together with the junior class that will lead next years team back to a championship in salem...and VOILA!

Pat, Pat, Pat...little did I know that I was being told false information by everyone's favorite prognosticator this side of Punxsutawney.

Since my ride down to Salem expanded my musical horizons to that of the South and the musical favorites of the truth and the savage...I would like to express myself to Pat through the musical stylings of Brenda Lee:

I'm sorry, so sorry
That I was such a fool
I didn't know
Love could be so cruel
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes

You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done

(I'm sorry) I'm sorry
(So sorry) So sorry
Please accept my apology
But love is blind
And I was to blind to see
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes

You tell me mistakes
Are part of being young
But that don't right
The wrong that's been done
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Uh-oh
Oh, yes

I'm sorry, so sorry
Please accept my apology
But love was blind
And I was too blind to see

And also in the words of the woman working the front desk at the Hampton Inn mildly terrified of the eight yankees that looked displeased when she claimed our reservation was cancelled:  "DON'T PANIC, DON'T PANIC"

Pat, Walzy is the only person that I've evert talked to that listens to your radio show...sorry for the heresay but this not being a court of law, I think I'll let it stand. (especially since he has to be your only listener...or at least the only one who leaves his mom's basement to associate with other people)

TEN YEARS AT USA TODAY?!?!?  If I need help with color pictures and/or pie charts I'll let you know.  But since I don't I will continue to post ridiculous things that get under your skin and actually make you feel the need to respond to them.

Which one of the following doesn't belong:

Patrick Ewing
Jim Kelly
Dan Marino
Ted Williams
Kevin Hopkins
Karl Malone
Ernie Banks
Barry Sanders
Charles Barkley

PAT COLEMAN!!!!!!! Word on curb is that the real media in the room and the players looked at you like you had three heads when you asked about Williams.  It's a good thing that Dan Wheeler is such a gentleman or you would have been sitting there with your foot in your mouth.  Also Walzy, informed us that you took back that the Northeast is the weakest region in D3...save the NESCAC.  No love for our friends Brandeis who knocked off your beloved Bantams?  Really shocked that the headline for the website wasn't the following:  "Defense wins Championships" or "The Better Team Lost."  Although the headline lacks anything actually good, the fact that you magined to avoid a complete cliche or an overall jab at Amherst is impressive.  Congrats!

I'm not sure what to say that the truth hasn't already mentioned.  A tremendous amount of love to the Amherst parents for treating us like royalty throughout the weekend.  Made the trip all the way down great even without the basketball.

The difference between Amherst and the field this weekend....THE PASSION.  Incredible leadership by the seniors to never let up whether it was on Friday or Saturday made all the difference in the world.  I feel like Ben to Verdad's Matt right now after we're accepting the best original screenplay for "Good Will Hunting."  WHO TO THANK?!?  Coach B for the love at dinner on Saturday night, the waitress for refilling my lemonade with the pin point accuracy of an AO pass, Rachel C for her epic performance at Fuds, the two guys from the class of 90 for paving the way, tall waitress for keeping Jones motivatived, and the guys in purple in whiite for bringing home a champtionship to Amherst.

The real question, however, is how do you determine who is taller...the Amherst team of '07 or next year's team of '08?  The answer, my friends is actually very simple...

GO BACK TO BACK

I love you all...
