I almost feel sorry for them but like splik said 2 years (tears) ago it's the culture.

How is Mike?
#2
So how are you guys doing?  I see my favorite team is doing better.

I noticed that someone posted the following "What a shame for the Juniata team! Coach Alt did a good job with that program. They were moving in the right direction!"

The Eagles won what, a game a year under Alt for 5 years and he thinks the team was headed in the right direction?  Players came and went, the common denominator in 5 years was Alt and his POOR decisions.

Whether it was picking assistant coaches or choosing which players played where, or his failure to make changes to his offense to reflect the skill level of his players.

Coach Alt is a gentleman and a very nice guy but he reached the pinnacle of ineptitude as a head coach.

The Juniata athletic administration may have set that program back 10 years keeping him around that long.

I read with some ammusment that you guys think that the Eagles can actually win a game!

Man I looked at their stats, 56 yards a game rushing whew, the quaterback who has a bum wheel has almost as many yards a game as the tailbacks.

The culture there just doesn't contribute to winning footabll.

BT you have more karma than me and Splik combined.  I still owe karma for peeing on Juniata's coaches last year.
#6
Splik, nice to hear from you. I've given up on karma.

I really do wish Juniata well, the foolball players get it from all sides, on campus even the volley ballers rub it in their faces.

Go Eagles!!!

Juniata brought in a whole bunch of new people.  But the decision makers still remain.

It will be interesting to see if the influx of players will make a difference.  Like BT I don't see a lot of freshmen cracking the lineup and if they do there will be a learnign experience.

I wish them luck.

Anyone want to bet that their first play is a run off tackle?

Hi Guys

My winter was just like everyone else I guess just waiting for spring.  How about you guys?

One question though, how does a guys karma go down when he hasn't made a snidely whip lash post in months?  Man I'm down to a -3.

Maybe we can have a little discussion about something I'm always curious about.  It has to do with coaching.

When I was growing up in sports coaches assessed their talent before they decided what kind of offense or defense they would use.

These days it seems like everyone runs a "system' and won't change no matter what kind of talent they have.

Are coaches just caught up in todays "system" mentality and can't adapt or am I missing something here.

It seems to me the best coaches/teams adapt their "system" to their talent, the poorest coaches/teams just keep running the "system" no matter how bad it gets.

It looks like it will be a challange for them to win a game again this season.

Anyone know when D-III starts spring practice?

Where's Splick been?

BT and Muldaddy what I went through this season was of my own making.

Being overly critical of a team (no matter your intent) that is near and dear to peoples hearts will bring criticism from many corners.  I created my own mess and tried to clean it up, apparently fbfan814 holds a resentment because he thinks Juniata is above critism.  Even though they are 4 and 36 over the last 4 years.

If you notice the quote at the bottom of my posts "Whatever goes contrary to fact, no matter how fond of it you are must be revised or discarded." by Carl Sagan goes along way to explaining my intent.

Enough of the soap opera.  Go mules

Born Power Index has Salisbury St. as a 3.1 favorite.

But that doesn't take in to account that they have to play on the road.  Which I think is good for 3 points so I see this game as even.

ROOT for the Mules to uphold the Centennial Conference pride.

While I'm at it how about a bunch of applause for the kids at Gallaudet making their first appearance in D-III in a long time.

How tough can it be for those kids to play football under the conditions they have been born with?

I did not see the game but I understand a young man from Gallaudet was hurt pretty seriously at the end of the game and had to be taken from the field in a neck brace.

That is a tough enough situtation with hearing athletes, how do you communicate with a person that has to communicate with his hands when he can't move them.  I understand that this person is OK although I'm not 100% about his condition.

Well kudos to the men who coach Gallaudet and to the valent players who must love the game to put up with what they have to go through to play football.

It's kind of humbling.

Bring it, what do you have to say?

Muledaddy.

The mules were the best team I saw all year, devasting defense.  I really hope they do well in the playoffs and I would consider making the trip to see them play next week.

As far as my kid goes, I think everyone has had enough of that soap opera.

Root for the MULES.
