Rowan and Cortland in a close one...going down to the wire.

Anywhere I can watch the MSU - Willie P game, only audio on both college web sites ?

All I can say is, sad. On both sides of the ball,  I like MSU but it really pains me to watch these games. I think the local high school can put up more points than them. Something has to change, motivation seems to be non-existent, offensive line is terrible, Davies getting sacked, Scoppa has nowhere to run...I know everyone wants to blame the coach and at times I agree, but the coach doesn't play the game. I could go on for another hour, but I think I'll go fishing instead.  Rams, I'll see you at the next home game.

Montclair "D" & Special Teams  17    Salve Regina  16

If I was not there I would not believe what I am reading. (5) first downs and (109) Total Yards. You Gotta be kidding me. The "O" Coordinator either has to start getting creative or resign. I have been following MSU for (13) years and the past (3) years of offense have been horrible. And don't use the excuse that the "O" line and QB are young. Year after year, this becomes tiresome. I was screaming so loud at the "O" coordinator I thought I would get bounced out. Funny thing the other fans agreed. There is now way we can beat a quality team with this vanilla "O". May God Bless and protect our "D". There is still time to wake up. I hope we do it.
Things aren't looking to good for the boy's right now, down to Alfred 30 - 10 at the half.  Not looking good on D or O. geez

Rams, are you making the trip to PA this weekend??

My Mom passed away today. She was in assisted living in NJ. Made the arrangements to get her back to PA which will happen tomorrow. Viewing Thursday and Funeral Friday. I'll be looking out for the Red Hawks on Sat night. See ya at the Train Station next week for the Salve game and hopefully go 2-0.
Dave,
Just saw this, so sorry for you loss, prayers going out for you and your family.

Was at the MSU scrimmage yesterday at Sam Mills Stadium, they have lots of potential, a lot of potential!!!
The QB I mentioned last week is a Sophomore who walked on in the spring, looks like he is getting the nod to be the starter. No Red/White Scrimmage

Catch Ball / Red Hawks,

What is the story for the Red Hawks in 2013. I would assume that camp has started. Will they scrimage Lackawana as usual? What about the Red / White scrimage? Cruious minds would like to know. "Keep Pounding".
Hey Rams,
How are you and how's the little one doing ?
Today is the first day of practice with full pads, Lackawanna scrimmage is this Saturday.
The QB is a student at MSU who never played ball at MSU, so he is actually a walk on, not a transfer.

more to follow...Hoping for a great season this year !  I'll  see you at the home opener.

Hi Buddy,

The little one is now 3 1/2. See ya at the Salve Game. What is the poop on the QB? Curious minds want to know. If you want send me an e-mail. Got stuff to do this Saturday, please fill me in on the Lackawana scrimage. Will the Red and White scrimage be next weekend? How is the Newly Wed doing. See ya soon.

Dave !!!

The newly Wed is doing fine, but as you know, he is very busy, we have been playing phone tag for the past week. :)
Hopefully I'll have some updates tomorrow.

Montclair wins in OT 55 - 49 , down 28 - 0 at the end of the 1st half...

If we beat Kean next week and go 5-5 does that make us elegible for an ECAC Bid.  ::) Only kidding my friend. How have you been? Have you survived Sandy? How is your son doing? I think the Football program is in Cahos. Recruiting by sitting back and saying we are MSU just doesn't work and there needs to be major coaching changes. Neitherr will happen, but I had to speak my mind. I'll be ready for next year, but this really sucked this year. My rant is in no way ment at the Great Montclair State Football Players, rather my rant is at the Coaches and their tenyear. I guess someone had to say it, it might as well be me.

Nice comeback today over B-Port and congrat's to all the kids on the Montclait State Football Team
.

Hey Dave,

Doing good, yeah we survived Sandy, lost power for 2 days, lost some tree's, but no damage to the house.
MSU, I know its a rebuilding year, defense hasn't been stellar and the offense, well, the play calling leaves a lot to be desired at times. Seems like they just couldn''t get things to be consistent for more than one week in a row. ?
Hopefully there will be  lesson's learned from this year and they come back into camp next year with the " Desire" and hopefully some different play calling.

Going to try and make the Kean game, missed a few games this year, purchased a rental property and been dumping a lot of time and energy into getting it ready.

Catchball / Pride,

Any word on how the boys look this year? Will the "O" line be able to protect Drew and create holes for AJ? Should we look for the SOS from the "O" or will we start to mix it up and be less predictable? Do we have a scrimage, if so where, when and with who? Were there any transfers that can make an impact? How is Chad doing in Atlanta? Curious minds would like to know. ;)
Hi Rams,
Just saw this today, been pretty busy.  Scrimmaged Lackawana, they beat us by a TD, we are a young team, going to have to work hard this year. Cathey looked sharp, we scored 2 TD's one on a pass ,the other a run. On paper we beat them, with everyone getting some time, hey thats what scrimmages are for,  see what you have to work with and go from there, even though you and I know it doesn't always work that way.  >:( Offensive line, as I always mention, needs to work real hard if we want to be a contender. We are down to 6 backs, I think 2 or 3 bailed out just before camp. Freshman QB that came in has good potential, in my opinion he may be the backup if he keeps up the hard work.
Can't say to much about the defense, Freshman LB, Tenpenny, looks like a strong kid and has some skills,he's getting a lot of special teams play and as long as he stays healthy(pulled groin this week) he should be a good addition.
That's all I have for now, I will be missing the opening day game due to a previous engagement, have a few frosty one's for me.

Sitting back on a lazy Sunday. Things are looking good, the Yankees are beating Philly (I know it's pre-season), The knicks are beating the Celtics and the Rangers are beating Boston, then to top it off the Red Hawks have put out their 2012 Schedule. Got my D3 Football fix and started to surf around. :)

Montclair loses (8)O/(5)D and our QB, Kean loses (6)O/(5)D +QB, Cortland loses (6)O/(5)D+QB, TCNJ (6)O/(6)D+QB and Rowan loses (5)O/(5)D. The MAC Challange has Montclair vs Leb Val, Kean vs Albright, Rowan vs Del Val all tough games and TCNJ vs FDU. Montclairs other OC game is against Salve who returns (13) will be tough.

If Montclair has Cathy back to QB or a good Jr. Trans, Scopa will run well, but no D'Anrdea and Skinner will step up on "D". No room for the "O" coordinater to screw the pooch as he has been doing. That being said I predict :

1. Montclair 9-1
2. Kean       8-2
3. Cortland  8-2
4. TCNJ       7-3
5. Rowan    6-4
6. Willy P
7. B-Port
8. M-Ville
9. W.Conn

You can interchange Kean and Cortland. If Montclair does not return Cathy or bring in a Jr. Trans at QB I reserve the right to move Montclair to (#4) or (#5). That being said it should be a fun year.

LET'S  GO  MIGHTY  RED  HAWKS  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ahhh Yes the excitement of how things will turnout this season is upon us, Hey Ram's  how are you doing pal ?  Spring ball started last week and ends tomorrow. Can't wait to see what this season brings.  I'll be checking in soon !

Was Cathy at Spring Practice ?  Any word on the QB situition ?
Yes he was looking good, he'll most likely get the nod to start....more to come

One hell of an article!!!! Not only is Garrett the head coach, the D coordinator was one of the best linebackers to come out of MSU and probably one of the toughest people I ever met in Keith Migliorino, the O line coach in Nick Greggorio, who was a three year starter back in the early 2000s when the legend Ed Collins was at the QB helm...

I think the best part about this building rivalry is how it is all left on the field where it belongs. Coach Garrett Migs and Nick Gregorio (Quaf) all come to the MSU Alumni Beefsteak each year and break bread with all of their friends, former teammates and coaches...

This is going to be one for the books, Pat come down to NJ for the game!!!

Montclair State is going to be victorious when that final whistle blows!!!!!! Everything you got guys, leave it all on the field!!!

"Keep Pounding"

Sam Mills

Execute, Execute, Execute !!!  And It Will Happen.  ;)
Well here it is, game day.  Best of Luck to the Red Hawks, they need to step up big time to show all the naysayers that they have what it takes to win the NJAC again this year. Offense, Defense, Special Teams gotta roll big time today.
By the time I get there the train station will be packed, I will most likely camp out over by the main entrance, beers and plenty of sandwiches. Rams I'll look for you in the stands and say hello when I see Ya !!!

Big game saturday fellas, don't let up...

Rally behind Cathy, send a message to the region that even with our starting QB gone, we will not miss a beat!!!!

"KEEP POUNDING"

Sam Mills

This game is huge, TCNJ is no walk in the park. Another game under Cathy's belt. I feel like we are coming together as a team. This is very important. I feel something good about the Red Hawks this year. Just keep getting better and take care of business. 110-60 and "Keep Pounding"
Gonna be a good one today, in my opinion, Cathey is going to have a banner day. I stated after the Cortland game that this kid has skills and I think today it will show. This is a must win for us, Oline is gonna protect him like a Red hawk protects her young, and he is gonna fly.

Really tough loss.  Congrats to MSU on the win.  Cortland stayed in it as usual and had every chance to take the game.  Thought the safety in the 4th by I think Gruber putting CState up by 2 was going to do it but MSU didn't let up and drove down for the winning field goal.  Again, congrats to MSU.  Both teams played hard and it was a great game to watch.

Agreed and +K. Had fun tailgating with some of the Cortland faithful. Good People. Good game. Our "O" play calling has to get better. It makes me wonder. ::)
Actually this was one game where it was looking like I was actually going to give the O line some props.
Good game =yes
Defense tough as usual = yes,  a couple of 15 yd penalties hurt us.
Play calling = not bad today
I think if Fischer didn't get hurt, we would have won by a lot more than a point.

Dave,
Saw you showing off your lovely wife, looks like a keeper. Also saw Ryan McCoach and his parents.

Have to travel to Boston next weekend, so missing the game.  >:(
But I'll be there in spirit

Leaving for West Virginia late Thursday. Homecoming at my college and Alumni meetings. We just need to "Keep Pounding" against Willy P. Let me know if you hear anything on Fisher. I'll be in Ewing in (2) weeks.
I'll know more about Fischer in about an hour or so, will keep you posted.

What is the word on Fisher ?
Not Good at all, out 4 weeks, 2 fractures in his ankle. >:(

Cathey will step up, IMHO the kid has skills, he was a little nervous against Cortland but he will be much better this week.
