Hawks definitely persevered...again. defense came up big when the time mattered.

I smell a trap game next week, I fear. Hope the Hawks don't just go through the motions against a sneaky good Stout team. Keep up the intensity.

Both teams enter play undefeated for the season.  Paxton Rothmeier leads the rushing attack for UWEC.  While quarterback Nathan Uselding leads the UW-PLATTEVILLE offense.  Look for Uselding to continue his 75% completion percentage during the game.  Last year Uselding had over 300 yards passing on 77% passing.   Look for that to continue at home.  Platteville's strength is it's rush defense giving up 2.2 yards per rush.  Look for a high scoring game with Platteville in charge all of the game.

UW Whitewater at UW La Crosse
First time for both teams, they face a starting quarterback from last year.  La Crosse knows Klinkner, while Whitewater knows Haas.  Over the last 2 years, Whitewater is 3-4 on the road in the WIAC.  With the only road wins to Eau Claire, Point and Oshkosh.  In the last 3 games the winning margin has been: 3 points, 3 points and 3 points.  Also, the last time these 2 teams played in La Crosse, the attendance on a sunny 55 degree day was 3,037 fans.  SAD!

Or UW-SP vs UW-SP.  Stout needs a get right game.  No better team for them to visit then Point.  One week after giving up close to 400 to Eau Claire, look for Stout to go over that number.  This game could get ugly quickly.

UW Oshkosh at UW River Falls

It's funny when you compare this game to last years game.  River Falls had 1 blemish, the Oshkosh loss.  They want revenge.  The loser of the game won't win the conference title either.  Speed beat the River Falls defense last week.  The question then is, does Oshkosh have enough speed to stress the defense.  I don't think so.  River Falls might have a backup QB and RB starting.  I think it will be enough.

Good old fashion UWW win today. Pound the rock and play good defense, forcing turnovers.

Take away Novotny's longest run (69 yards) and he still has over 100 yards with 5.6 yards/carry on the day. Impressive against a very good team. This young kid could be the Warhawk's next great back.

Nearly 500 yards in 4 games, over 9 ypc. Hasn't played the toughest opponents. But his best game of his young career was against the reigning champs. Really looking forward to his future here.

That ends that narrative that UWW beating only bad teams. What a turn around from last year. Great game by the defense. Ways to go still but HUGE first step towards a division title.

Yes, this year we had particular difficulty in filling our schedule. I think we've gotten a much better jump on the next couple of years. If some of the things I've been hearing get locked in, then next year will be a much more fun and competitive non-con schedule.

Playing a hard nonconference schedule is a little overrated, imo. Can do more harm in fact.

Especially playing in the WIAC. You lose a nonconference game it puts tons of pressure on to run the table and win the WIAC. 2 losses puts you in a very tough spot for a Pool C bid. Almost better off playing cupcakes to begin the year, so if you were to lose in the WIAC a one loss team, is almost a shoe-in for a Pool C.

UWW has won a couple of their championships playing no bodies to start the season. And in other years, won the Stagg Bowls playing really good non-con teams. I don't think it makes a difference in "preparing" the team for anything.

Interesting...might be a mount union-less playoff this year. And it's only week 3!

Maybe Osh Vegas Palms Resort RV park will soon sponsor a D3 bowl game so Oshkosh can participate.

And yes, that place is all too real. Pass it every time you drive up 41.

That would be an improvement for UW0. Three conference losses was 100% an outlier season for the Hawks. Far from the standard.

Well, LaCrosse is a nice town with some fun stuff to do, but Whitewater seems kinda dull. And even though the football is usually good, is there much more to do in W-W then watch football and drink? 🤗

A few good bars and restaurants, watching a historic football program, and that about wraps it up. Yeah, La Crosse is about 3x the size of whitewater. Them and 0shk0sh are the 2 biggest WIAC cities on the conference.

Carleton is a decent team in a top 5 conference. 6-3 in the MIAC last year, tied for 3rd.

Also, new guy has lots to learn about how scheduling works. As if teams can pick and chose who they play. So many moving parts in non conference scheduling. Ask any coach.
