Region 3 men's basketball / Re: Empire 8
November 29, 2007, 12:54:09 PM
Here's a question for you Empire 8 fans, has Hartwick beat tough teams to be unblemished right now or just cakewalk teams. Curious as an O-State fan with their game on Dec. 4th. Any answers is appreciated.

On a side note, not sure if the exact divisional breakdown was mentioned so here it is in alphabetical order since interconference play has not begun yet:

EAST DIVISION: Cortland Red Dragons, New Paltz Hawks, Oneonta Red Dragons, Potsdam Bears, Plattsburgh Cardinals, SUNYIT Wildcats

WEST DIVISION: Brockport Golden Eagles,  Buffalo State Bengals, Fredonia Blue Devils, Geneseo Knights, Morrisville Mustangs, Oswego Lakers

Morrisville is not elegible for postseason play yet. I say this looks balanced either way. Let's see how it looks in the conference cause based on right now most of the conference has done well and had quite a few games already. I know Oneonta lost by 10 to Naz and badly to Rochester. In a couple of weeks they head down to Greensboro who has done damage already this year and also play Averett again. All are pushing themselves to make sure the conference gets two bids min. to me. And I've seen and read what others have done already. Lets go SUNYAC.

So it essentially is a top 4 place winners in each division go to the playoffs this year. Let's hope that it shakes out properly and a 8-8 5th place on one side doesn't get screwed for a 6-10 4th place in the other divison.  Granted I have to look at the divisional breakdown but I think all you have to do is look at one SUNYAC's school schedule. They play there division rivals twice and other division once. So go from there. And Oneonta State got a win after a tough opening weekend, hopefully they can start the confernce right with a win against Geneseo this Friday.

On a side note I don't know all the tba but for Oneonta and New Paltz they go against Nazareth and Rochester, wins against either of those teams can send a message to look out for the SUNYAC. With Rochester being number 9 and Nazareth receiving votes.  Personally I want Oneonta to come out 2-0 but as long as its not 0-2 they have a decent start.

Hello this is my first time posting here. I was just wondering after reading the recent posts.  After Brockport and Plattsburgh how do people here see the rest of the conference shaping up.  And for the record if your looking for a voice of a fan of the O-State Red Dragons, I guess I'll be up for that role.  Looking forward to an interesting season.
