I think it's pretty safe to say that Pat Coleman is a ragging moron who results to acting like a little whining baby who got recess taken away from him whenever anyone argues against him.

Rest assured LC is going to be missing out on the $5k+ i've been donating every year since I graduated in 1982, especially considering they are still trying to pay off their newest academic building and the renovations that took place on Shellenberger field and are now making the students have to pay for some of the renovations to Shellenberger. I know of several basketball alumni who have already stopped donating. LC is already expensive enough as it is and they made it more expensive by making students have to pay for the field because they couldn't raise enough money to cover the costs of the academic building and the field. LC can't afford to be losing donors at this point unless they want students to start having to pay more. A change needs to be made.

If LC hires a good basketball coach who can win games here, LC will most likely find their donations to increase because people won't be embarrassed to admit being a fan of the men's basketball team. With the popularity of basketball as a sport here, the basketball team here could very well challenge men's lacrosse for the most popular sport on campus, and LC should find that to be very beneficial when trying to get donations for their next project. Also, an athlete is more likely to donate the better their collegiate athletic experience is from what I can tell. You don't find many basketball alumni who had a good collegiate basketball experience, and thus most of the ones I know don't donate at all to LC. If you bring in a coach who can change the climate of the basketball team, it will only help the efforts of development to raise money.

If Swickrath is not "relieved of his duties" after the season is over, I'm never going to donate a single damn cent to LC. I'm sick of sitting by and seeing the team get blown out game after game by every single ODAC team. I'm sick of seeing a team loaded  with talent not even competing in 75% of their games. I'm sick of seeing a team in dire need of coaching not receiving the coaching they need. I'm sick of seeing a team look completely lost on both ends of the floor because they aren't taught anything in practice or are taught it completely wrong. I'm sick of seeing a coach let his team play on the court like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. I'm sick of seeing Swickrath bring in players with such low bball IQ that they commit asinine errors that even OK high school players don't commit. But most importantly, I'm sick of seeing Swickrath idly sit by and find all this crap acceptable. It's embarrassing to admit that I'm a fan of the LC men's basketball team.

I don't even care if the new coach we bring in can't recruit any sort of talent at all as long as he can ensure me they will work hard for a full 40-minutes, will execute the offense and the defense, and will play as a team. I don't even care if we go 0-25 with the new coach as long as I see that. I'd rather see go 0-25 playing the right way than watching a team go 3-22 playing the wrong way virtually every single game, at least the 0-25 team would be worth watching once in a while.

But if LC doesn't relieve Swickrath of his duties before the school year is over, the school will never get another cent from me.

How many more years is it going to take the administration over at LC to realize that John Swickrath is one of the worst head coaches in Division III? Is it blind to Swickrath's extremely huge ego and and his gigantic lack of maturity? Is it blind to the fact that several players quit and/or transfer every year specifically because they hate Coach Swickrath? How many more blowouts is it going to take to have this man fired? How many more underachieving seasons is it going to take? How many more 9th and 10th place finishes in the conference is it going to take?

They have been blown out six times this year in just 13 games, 13 times last year, and 11 times in the 05-06 season. The only two decent at best years he had was when he was playing with talent that was recruited by other coaches. He has recruited some talented players, the kind of players he wants, and he can't win with them. What the hell does that tell you? To me it says 1) he can't recruit, 2) he can't win with the pieces he wants, and 3) he can't coach.

He can't recruit because 1) he brings in talented players, but 2) they can't play defense and 3) they have a very low basketball IQ. He can't win with the players he brings in because look at last year and this year. All the players that have played, with the exception of Vasiliou, were recruited by Swickrath or he allowed them to walk on to the team. They won a whopping 6 games last year and lost 13 straight to end the season and this year they have won a stupendous 3 games. He can't coach, well no explanation is needed here, his record in holding leads in the second half and winning close games is self-explanatory.

So I ask again: How many more horribly underachieving years is it going to take to get this man out of here?
