Olson gets NABC national player of the year. Congrats to him and the whole senior class on an amazing 4 years.

Are there sectional MVP's posted anywhere?

Also, not sure where it was posted by fpc85, but I think Fletcher has a great shot at AA. He has had an outstanding season, and I think the fact that he has not had the chance to put in substantial minutes before this year just speaks more to the overall talent of the players of Amherst and Hixon's coaching ability to retain such great players, even though they have to sit the bench. I think this outstanding season alone warrants some recognition.

Good luck Jeffs, repeat '08! So happy they are headed back to Salem. I think that their odds look really good, so long as they do not overlook a very solid Ursinus team. Give 'em hell!

So how is the all decade team going to work then? Is there going to be an ongoing list? How long would it take players like Olson and Strong to make the list?

Wow JeffRookie, very impressed by the elaborate research done. I think that is a very interesting and telling stat to use. It really does show the effectiveness and productivity of the players. I think the fact that all 5 Amherst starters are in the top 15 is also impressive. Props to B. Jones for topping the list. I think you did a good job of proving your point as well. You just can't argue with the numbers especially because Rose really does not contribute to his team in any other effective way.

On other note...I really am still stunned by the Williams collapse. I know others have discussed it at length, but wow. I knew that their undefeated record would not last, and that they would be facing tougher competition, but I am still just stunned. 2-5 in the NESCAC, never would have predicted that one.

Fletch and Andrew may split the amherst votes...if that happens neither wins...although i dont think either cares.

I think that Walters has definitely put up some of the better numbers, but it seems that the team just can't function without Olson. Even when he isn't scoring he is helping the team in other ways, and provides something that no one else on the team can. If Walters on the other hand has an off night, there are many other players, like Jones or Baskauskas even Hopkins, who can replace his numbers. Just a thought, but I think both should be in the running for POY.

Great win for the Lord Jeffs tonight. With both Rochester and Brandeis losing yesterday, could we possibly see the Lord Jeffs back on top of the polls this week??

I feel for ya FPC85. I think that it is ironic how people on this board get blasted for being obnoxious fans, and then FPC85 attempts to address his team from a rational standpoint and people seem upset with him. I do think "have a chance" was a little exaggerated, as Amherst does have the talent, experience, and leadership, but all these areas haven't seemed to click for them all together yet. I think that they have the bulls eye on their back and teams are after them as is the case with any defending national champ, but either way they just don't seem to be playing up to expectations. I have to say, it does make for exiting league play. I'm not sure I don't think they will still come away with the title, but some improvements are a necessity for this to happen.

Long time reader, first time poster as well. Thoroughly enjoy reading this board, you all have great DIII knowledge and I echo PolarBear, it is great to see passion for DIII sports. I have a general question; it seems that with Amherst not playing up to their potential, the NESCAC really is wide open. Most would have placed them as the favorite at the beginning of the season, do most still feel this way? While they are 13-2, teams have definitely shed light on their weaknesses and it seems like it is anybody's game at this point. What other teams are true contenders for a NESCAC title and what puts them in such a good position?
