Was able to sneak away from the presents and the Christmas story marathon on TBS to check some things out

I like to concentrate on pitching because to me it seems to be the most important aspect of the game.

Cortland
Will probably have the best staff out of any of the SUNYAC teams and has to be favored to once again represent the NY Region in Wisconsin. Jweid, Tone, Mattes, Bilyk, Serio, Hooper, Baker and Hauck look to be as tough as any staff in the country. Plus i am sure it is safe to assume that Coach Brown did not sit back and rest during recruting

Plattsburgh
To me this staff looks to be in the best shape other than Cortland. Kelley has number one potential and Gent and Painter look like they could settle in nicely behind him at the 2 and 3. Plus as Bob added they still have Van Houtten, Davis, Tracy and Murphy, to fill in behind them. Could it be more than just 0-2 and a BBQ for Plattsburgh this year in the tournament? This looks to be their best chance.

Oneonta
They were able to successfully move on without Salamida last year, it did help have Weber and Locke to fall back on. But who do they fall back on now? Weber, Locke and Lawrence are all gone. Juedes is going to need to step up and have a monster year for the Red Dragons.

Brockport
Of all the perennial powers they to me seem to be in the most trouble. With all due respect to Bob, I just don't see it in their returning guys. Shannon had a terrible year numbers wise following his ROY performance two years ago. Mascari's numbers look deceiving as he did not really pitch against any quality opponents until SUNYAC's. Maxwell's numbers ballooned towards the end of the season after an impressive start. This staff looks suspect at best if you ask me. They look like they will be throwing a ton of freshman out on the field.Couple this with a new coach, could equal problems for Brockport.

New Paltz
I guess you could call them my sleeper team. Looking at the numbers, I would match this staff's #1 with just about anyones. It looks to me that Potter is that good. Add Potter to Donahue and Shanks, you have a very formidable staff that can get SUNYAC wins.

Well i can no longer avoid the christmas story marathon, I would love to sit and talk shop all day here but it is christmas.

This question is for Bob. Is the rest of brockport's coaching staff still in tact if not who has replaced them? Just seeing if i recognize any of the new names

Enjoy the holidays, spring training is right around the corner!!!!

Good Afternoon Fellow Posters,

My son played baseball at a SUNY school late 90's into 00's, i guess I am what you would call a casual observer of the SUNYACS. Now being retrired school teacher I hope to be able to more of a observer.
Was able to catch Oneonta vs. Brockport game at the tournament last year, while we were in town visting our nephew. Looking over the rosters and some of the stats from last year, looks like Cortland is going to do very well AGAIN this year. That pitching rotation looks devistating even with the loss of Dougher and Zgorzelski. Do any of the other school in conference have anything that matches up even close to that? Perennial rival Brockport looks down in the pitching department, loosing what looks to be there 1&2 in Dennstet and Scott. Oneonta loses Weber and Locke. Plattsburgh lost Dahlin. Anyone have any insight on New Paltz? Based on there record last year, it looks as though they may have overachieved a bit.

Looks to me like it could be a dogfight for the 2, 3 and 4 spot to get into the SUNYAC tournament.

Look forward to an interesting season filled with solid debating and sharing of information.
