Yeah the ball just didn't drop for us but credit to CNU for taking it to us early. They closed off our 3 point shooters and made shots inside and that was the difference. Good luck to the Captains the rest of the way!

Quote from: Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan) on March 11, 2026, 06:59:32 PMUnused ticket alloments have to be returned by noon Wednesday, so this afternoon is when they know how many will be left for purchase.  I guess both schools sold theirs out easily.
CNU is only an hour down I-64 so I'm quite sure they snapped all of theirs up! They're just as rabid about their team as we are about ours! 45 minutes up I95 Mary Wash is too.....and thats a GOOD THING!

Quote from: rmc1982 on March 11, 2026, 03:51:57 PMJust got a memo from YJ Club.....GAME FRIDAY IN CRENSHAW IS SOLD OUT ALREADY!

CNU could well be bringing a good crowd.
We were only allotted 50% of the tix so I assume the other 50% were snapped up by The Captains! I got that from YJ Club officials.

Found out this am from one of my frat bro basketball alumni buddies that Delani Hammonds has a groin injury and probably won't play tonite either. Will find out if it's season ending tonite. Such a shame too- he's been playing so well all year, but injuries and playing through them are part of the game. I remember well a couple of years ago when Jabril Robinson was out for the playoffs and it hurt us. Hopefully the other guards will pick up the slack to pull us through. At least that's one
Position we're pretty  deep!

Tigerfan- I'm not exactly enamored to be facing Guilford, even though its in Crenshaw! This ia a CLASSIC "Trap Game"- They ALWAYS seem to play us tough, they can score ALOT of points in spurts, and we're heavily favored. This can be a recipe for disaster! If we jump on them early and get them down then MAYBE they fade away but if we let them hang around and it gets late in the ballgame thats when we tend to lose! Hope I'm wrong but HaSA'S Quakers are DANGEROUS!!

#1 Team Montclair St, got beat by TCNJ.....which means now WE will have the bullseye on our back as long as we win at Bridgewater Saturday night. Don't like to be in this position....everybody gunning for us....Oh well....Could be worse!

Quote from: Tigerfan on February 18, 2026, 03:19:11 PMAre you giving 18.5 points & how much are you willing to wager?
Oh I'm DEFINITELY not agreeing with D3Datacast! I think they're CRAZY! Like I said before, Crenshaw is good for 5-10 points on a GOOD NIGHT but remember this is a 5pm start which means some working Alums can't come, the baseball/ softball / lacrosse kids are still at or just getting over practice, and some other students are gonna have to either go to the game and miss dinner or go out after or to the cafe..... lots of bad variables that could affect attendance because of the start time! Less students means LESS CRENSHAW CRAZIES! I think 1- 15 points is reasonable....: 18.5 is RIDICULOUS!

D3 Datacast has us with a 95% chance of winning and the line is 18.5 points! I know Crenshaw is worth 5-10 points usually but i dunno about that many! They predict the score will be 75-57....WOW

Helluva ballgame in the COTU this evening at 5pm( HATE the start time BTW-It could hurt our crowd!)for ALL THE MARBLES and the regular season ODAC crown and seeding in the tournament! RMC-VWU start time at 5 pm just like the first meeting at 5pm in Va Beach to accomodate the ladies. Nothing against the ladies but since this game is so much more  important I think it would have  been prudent to switch the start times to help the crowd but thats just me. 5pm start hurts people who still work like myself. I'll have it on in my business when I close at 5 and may miss part of the first half because of my commute home but some others have made arrangements to get off early to go. My buddy and frat brother and RMC athletics HOF'er Jesse Hellyer called me to see if I wanted to go with him but I have to stay home.Should be a GREAT GAME in CRENSHAW ,tho!! GO JACKETS!!

Quote from: hasanova on February 12, 2026, 01:14:03 PMHuge road win for the Quakers last night.  In a 12-team conference where only the top 8 make the tournament, even #8 is still a pretty good team.  Raise your hand if you want your team to play Guilford in the first round.
HASA!! Good to see you back on here pal! Have missed your insightful posts!

Quote from: y_jack_lok on February 02, 2026, 06:49:23 PMD3 Datacast has Mary Wahington at Randolph-Macon on Saturday as its game of the week, with RMC as a 10.5 point favorite. Seems to me that their computer needs tweaking. They seem to agree. They were surprised to see such a huge spread and both picked UMW to at least keep it to a single digit game, though neither mused about the possibility of the Eagles actually winning. But I'd just call it a tossup.

But, that's getting ahead of things. First the Jackets have to get past H-SC on Wednesday.

RMC by 11.  ;D

I didn't think the Jackets played particularly well but then I'd look up and they were up by 20.They did play sloppy at times and you could tell HSC was down a few guys and it showed.Had they been fully loaded the outcome could have been different. Now we have to face a MWU team fresh off of a tough loss to CNU but the good thing is that it will be in Crenshaw on a Saturday afternoon with a full house. We usually play very well in big games in Crenshaw PLUS "The Crenshaw Crazies" will be out in FULL FORCE! Should be a heck of a ballgame!

Gonna be an interesting week in D3HOOPS! Mary Wash has to run the gauntlet this week playing CNU IN Newport News on Wednesday and the Jackets in Crenshaw Saturday at 4pm!! After this week something's gonna give nationally! So many upsets and losses by top teams it's still a crapshoot who's gonna come out of this in the drivers seat going into the Home Stretch!! ODAC is still very much up for grabs for seedings too!! We still have HSC on Wednesday before we can even think about Mary Wash on Saturday!!It's getting interesting!! 🐝🐝🐝GO JACKETS!!🐝🐝🐝

Quote from: y_jack_lok on January 29, 2026, 09:50:24 AM^^^ Yeah, Robinson didn't play at Randolph on Friday, either. He's wearing a boot on his right foot last night. Marty & Andrew said they were giving it some extra rest and hope he'll play at W&L on Saturday.

Great shooting percentages for the Jackets last night to go with strong rebounding and 24 turnovers by EMU (many unforced), resulting in EMU only taking 36 shots and getting only three offensive rebounds. Unlike at Randolph, where only one player scored in double figures and 13 players scored, last night six Jackets reached double figures.

A tough final stretch coming up for RMC with games at W&L and H-SC, then home vs #3 Mary Washington, followed by at Shenandoah, where the Hornets always make it hard for the jackets, and then home rematches with the only teams to beat them (so far) -- Averett and VWU -- and away at Bridgewater to end the regular season.
I only watched the first half and turned it off the score was so lopsided so I must've missed Marty and Andrew talking about Jabril! Yes we have a tough stretch ahead and if we can make it to the Mary Wash game without another loss it sets that game up to be HUGE in postseason seedings and hosting opportunities! Whomever wins that game barring a late season collapse will be in the drivers seat to host all the way through to the Final Four. One would assume that both would host early in the NCAA's but the later games, should both advance, the nod would probably be given to host to the victor of that game, if the brackets were set up that way! Too much basketball left to play to look ahead, however !! It would be nice if we kept winning to host in the later rounds  because "The Crenshaw Crazies" are worth a few points just because of the sheer noise and havoc and our young men seem to feed off of that enthusiasm very well!!It truly is one of the great venues in DIII to watch playoff basketball! Let's hope we keep our heads on a swivel and play one at a time and that will fall in our favor in due time!! GO JACKETS!!
