Crudbdad,
Thanks for hangin with us at our tailgate. I enjoyed our visit.  I really thought that this would be a pick-em game.   Your son did a great job today.  UMHB has a ton of talent, and they showed it early on.  I have to admit I don't understand the thought process on the 2QB system.  I know it has been working for the Cru, I just felt that the Cru were out of sinc in the second half.
Again Congrats on an awesome season, and thanks for trekking to the Catdome.

Enjoyed meeting you, DOC and Wildcat11. Thanks for the NW hospitality. AS to the platoon you live by the sword and die by it. After the 1st fumble we were shocked to see him back in. Oh well, can't overcome that many turnovers. Thanks for the compliment on my son. Hope you go all the way now.

Good News!  The UMHB and Linfield game will be broadcasted free.

http://www.linfield.edu/sports/release.php?id=3209

Videocast:  By popular request, a live video broadcast stream is being been made available free of charge...the subscription fee normally charged during the regular season is being waived...the videocast features rooftop and sideline camera angles, as well as instant replay...it also includes the live audio of the Linfield radio broadcast.

Thanks for the info.

Interesting that UMHB and Linfield have 2 common opponents.  Should be a good game.  Is the game going to be streamed on the internet?
Early reports on the NWC site state no video from Linfield.

I just discovered that the CATDOME has covered seats for the home team. C'mon are you kidding me. I thought you Oregonians were hardy souls that braved the elements to watch games ;D

I want to preface this post by saying UMHB was the better team and deserved everything that happened.
I just have one question: Why were there no calls made when UMHB came onto the field and some of there players took off their helmets during live play?
I was at the game. What are your refering to?
When sneads pass was tipped on the 2-pt conversion, many Cru players didn't see the play wasn't dead yet, and some removed their helmets in celebration along with some of the sideline coming out on the field. Now, I am not an official, but there should have been an unsportsman like penalty along with the illegal forward pass which would've been offsetting and resulted in a replay of the down.
Now, I believe the better team won, but it such a shame we will never know the what the outcome could've been if the refs didn't interfere, and its terrible that such an amazing game now has a stain on it.
Thanks for clarifying. I was to busy watching the play. Once Snead caught the ball I thought he had a window around the left side to run it in. I didn't see the helmets come off as we were doing our own celebration and finally breathing fresh air again. Still think the offsides on the onside kick was more bizarre.

How far is McMinville from Portland. Any decent hotels to stay at in Mcminville.

Hi Crudbdad.

McMinnville is about an hour and half drive from Portland International.  Being that if you were coming in on Friday, it may be a little less traffic and you may be able to make it in an hour and 10 minutes.  We are about 45 Miles SW of Portland International.  Pretty easy drive too.

If you want to stay in town I would recommend the Comfort Inn and Suites or the Red Lion Inn.  The Best Western Vinyards Inn is also pretty good and they are all less than 5 minutes from the Catdome.

Both the Comfort Inn and Red Lion are also just 2-3 minutes from downtown where all the good eating and drinking establishments are.  Try Golden Valley Brew Pub for dinner.  Right down the street is a good old watering  hole know effectionatley as the 'D' short for Deluxe.  Some fans meet there Friday evening and some go to the Elks.

If you come out hope you have a great trip
Crudbdad:
If needed, there is a Best Western and other hotels in the town of Newberg which is about 20+ minutes from Linfield.
Be sure you drive the posted speed limit going through the towns surrounding McMinnville.

Thanks. I have learned from driving thru all of the Texas spped traps to get to UMHB games to drive the speed limit, so Barney doesn't write me a ticket. ;)

Anyone coming out who would like to trade football shirts?
Depends on the size ;D I might be interested. Think my UMHB shirts are all XL.

Central was the best team we played all year. The size of the line was more D1 than D3. Just glad we could hold on at the end. Great college football game regardless of the level. For those that live in Pella we received wonderful hospitality during our short stay and according to some of our players, your kids played the game hard without any trash talking. That in and of itself is something to be proud of.

Thanx for the sentiments! Playing hard without talking smack is a pillar of Central football. Besides, you should see our coaches. They'll pull an All-American if he starts mouthing off in someones face. Doesn't matter who it is. Now, some players have a real mean streak (see DutchHawk circa 2005) but they keep their mouths shut. Hope you had a chance to check out the pastry shops.
Hope you had a chance to check out the pastry shops brought some home. Would defintily have to work out if I lived there. ;D

Let me be the first to welcome you to the Catdome !!  This should be a great matchup.  Weather will be in the eighty's so just pack light--shorts and flip flops will do--sunscreen is a must.  Dont mind all of the Cat fans that look like they just wandered in from their duck blind.  We always expect rain.
Tailgate action starts early and you are all welcome.  We are the group down on the corner by the Wildcat bus.  Dont mind that the group looks like old harley riders--we are friendly ( until the bell rings at gametime)
Electric longies are the drink of the day-- you will like em !!
I'm sure both teams are bringin their A game for sure--fasten your seatbelt--lets get it on !!

Phone it in !!

Must have been drinking those Electric Longies all day for that weather forecast ;D What time do ya'll start the tailgate would like to stop by and drink with the enemy ;D
