Here's a request for the JF.com crew.  How about talking to some players/coaches this year?  It would lend more interest and credibility to your stories and site.  I can only read so much about how great the Johnnie Nation is and which nicknames belong to who.  Thanks!

That is an idea Duff, and of course we would welcome any contributions to the site from you. In Mexico till later in the week but upon my return I do have a nickname article ready to post just for Duff! I hope everyone who participates on this Board is ready for the season and to support thier team!

Thanks for the enthusiasm, tats.  The editorial decision for johnniefootball.com seems a good one, so I bet DustySJU had more to do with it than usTDT.

Yes you are correct OZ! The Godfather(DSJU) of the site made the call but I think that I rec'd a "second that motion" from TDT!

Maybe we can persuade a posting or two outta you this season?

Johnnie Nation be sure to check the site after the Holiday weekend (or so) as we will hopefully have more content and updates about new contributors, player nicknames and so on.

I think ALL of us on this board are ready for Footabll to start!

As this weekend marks the half-way point of Summer( yea like we have enjoyed nice weather here in MN to date!) that means that the countdown to kick-off2011 rolls on for those partial to a certain team located behind the Pines in Stearns County!

Articles(which John cannot control like a video feed) are indeed being posted on JF.com to hopefully ease the long wait till kick-off2011!

I hope all who support their alma maters via this board are having a good Summer!

Go JOHNNIES!

Hello?!?!?! Anyone out there?!?!?!? Hello?!?!?!

...crickets...

Ok well the President of the CAC has been away on important business the past few months.  I've only read back to mid-April, so I hope everyone was well behaved in my absence.

Looks like the Tommies have all the key cogs coming in to win it all in 2011.  I mean have ya'll ever seen such a brilliantly composed press release(cough: yes of course I wrote it Shawn!!).

Clark I'm coming to the Bay Area in 2.5 weeks.  Let's do lunch!!!

In other breaking news following a long evening of cold beers on St. Anthony Main last week it was decided that the new editor-in-chief of JohnnieFootball.com will be none other than Mr. Johnnie Tats.  Please welcome Tats & share all comments/questions/complaints with him.

Veeeeeeeek where are you?  Get outta the free sampling lines at Costco.  The "Club" is waiting for you!!!

Congratulations, Tats.  We look forward to your editorial influence.  It can only make things better

I think the decision was made in this manner. Everyone else took one step back and I was concentrating on my beer at the gathering, and  I did not notice. A case of the last man standing! In all seriousness, we are hoping that the site and the the postings are enjoyable to all in the Johnnie Nation and all others who follow D3 Ball. As many of you know (from my postings on the site) I am not the word smith like Dusty SJU, TDT or Tmerton. I simply like to post from the heart and from my love of all that is SJU,much like others on this Board who proudly support their Alma Maters! Here's to a GREAT D3 football season and the 10 year anniversary of the Sfestvities at Collegeville!
See everyone at Collegeville on 9/3 for kick-off 2011

Off season be damned......updated content about the upcoming installation of lights(!) at the Natural Bowl is now on johnniefootball.com

2011 QB for the Johnnies....#10 Bruns, rifle of an arm. Obvious to those who have seen Johnnie games first hand, the current "crop" of QB reserves cannot seem to get the job at hand completed.

only people who heard the profanity laced (yelled) comment line the 3rd quarter( I think) as they came off of the Field  by a Carl Coach (or player). And I quote" DO NOT OPEN YOUR EFFIN MOUTH TO A/THE DAMN REFS".

Was this from the Carleton bench directed at Carleton players? If so, I don't see a problem. No need for a player to get a cheap penalty for running their mouth at an official.

I am pretty sure it was some Asst. Coach going at a player. Possibly the Refs advised the Carleton bench that they(players) were becoming a bit too lippy during the game? Therefore the coach's comment? It still was a bit funny b/c at that exact time the Stadium seemed to be quiet and then this booming expletive came out.

Yeah, cause there's never been any profanity for the SJU sideline  ::)

I guess I should have mentioned that this comment was loud enough to be heard up by the "press box" where Wingman and I were sitting! I would never argue with anyone about prfanity on a Johnnie sideline! Heck Gags can teach a Longshoreman a thing or two!

How was the tailgate yesterday?  Did Clark miss me??  Saw the attendance was only 831.  Bad weather in Minny? Or apathy setting in?

Hey Veek what was your Halloween costume for your big party this year?  I hope your little girls aren't going as "Princesses" tonight...

Happy Halloween to my pal Flash.  Hope his Justin Bieber....errrr Beaver...costume goes over well with the hell raising kids (like Veek's brood).

TDT-
Luckily the attendance was only those 800 some odd folks, that way there were the only people who heard the profanity laced (yelled) comment line the 3rd quarter( I think) as they came off of the Field  by a Carl Coach (or player). And I quote" DO NOT OPEN YOUR EFFIN MOUTH TO A/THE DAMN REFS".  Of course that was followed by a chorus of jeers and boo's form the Johnnie faithful. Wow for $51lk per year that is what you get down there huh?
I hope that it was addressed by someone in a postion of authority in Carleton!

However, LWD is correct.  The true BONER call by the WIAC officiating crew was the INT in the endzone and spotting the ball at the 3 yard line.  I'd love to hear the explanation.  Either it is a touchback and the ball goes to the 20 yard line or it is on the 1 foot line outside the endzone.  No other options unless there are some new rules this year I'm not aware of.  That was crucial because it forces the Johnnies to be conservative in their play calling and then end up punting backed up to the endzone (so a quick punt is essential) instead of having plenty of breathing room (and field position) out at the 20+ yard line.

The WIAC crew was horrendous.  They should be suspended as they clearly didn't have a clear grasp on the rules.  How bout that complete botch of the OT positioning?  Embarrassing.  Are these cats doing 9 man high school games on Friday nights?  How can this happen?  Especially the head referee.

With you 100% TDT! Serioulsy, those refs must work for BP during the week( what there is no oil leak, the environment will be fine)! or maybe they are TV News weathermen, you know never correct but always keep their jobs! I had a freind along who is not a fervent Johnnie fan, and played semi-pro ball in Chicago and he was simply speechless at the calls and inability of the ref to turn off his mike!!

Yes, it was great seeing everyone at the Tailgate and also meeting those famous( or should I say infamous)  ppsters from this board! Too bad the Johnnies could not pull it out in the end. I agree with Veek's comments about the Refs( they should made what seemed like a faster than normal beeline  off of the fieldd at the end of the game) BUT I guess we should have not let the game get to a point where anything other than the fact that we had enough points to win would matter!

What on earth is up with Frank?  A review of Hamline and no mention of RayGrant15?

An obvious oversight on Frank's part!

Again...Hamiline is and will be considered 13th grade in my house due to this kid's antics...I sincerely look forward to the Pipers visit to Collegeville this year

You need to go away for a while.  I recommend Asia.

Very true Tmerton, just finishing up and then on to the airport...22 hours of flight time await...I feel like you all with your trips to Collegeville each Saturday during the Fall!

Ray's a Saint John's man!  (Check his high school junior year)

OMG...I made the mistake of watching that video, it is torture for me that he is wearing anything St John's and then using #13! I like our Lucky #13 from the "real" SJU much better!

I'm pretty sure he could write for JF.com if he wanted to,they'll let just about anyone have a column  :o

And he makes more sense than Johnnie Tats.

There is a shot from the Duffman.....Well if you want this egomaniac on the site go get 'em. If any Johnnie player posted like that I would personally ask to have him expelled from the 56321. I truly cannot wait till the Pipers roll into the 56321...will he Tweet when they lose to the Johnnie yet again?
