Is there anyway those who don't live in Salem can get advanced tickets.

Hmmm...This will be interesting. I hope that oxy has a large contingent coming out. THis will be my first oxy game as a fan and not a play, so I hope its an enjoyable one. This time around I can get in trouble for fighting. The copious amounts of domestic beer prior to the game will not help....

Does anyone know the setup of the Willamette stadium. Does it have two stands or just one like oxy?

Oxy's special teams department is run by Widolff himself who does a superb job. Not to mention that the tigers have one of the best punters in the nation in Alex Groh. I wouldn't count on Willamette out performing oxy on the Special teams department.

With Oxy's powerful and fast D-ends in Worthheimer and Fisher, I think that any Willamette rushing will be done inbetween the tackles. An up the gut attach strategy has traditionally been Oxy's weak point in rushing D-fence, but with the verteran Antohony Ostland and yound star Pat Sarkissian in the middle it will be interesting to see what the bearcats try to do.
As far as Oxy coaching goes, EJ Johnson is a brilliant defensive coordinator that will come up with an complicated yet sucessful strategy to shut the bearcats down. Knowing coach EJ, he'll probably be living in his office and will be running on only a few nights sleep once they reach Salem.
I think the big question will be how Oxy's secondary holds up. You can always count on Ciasulli and Tromello coming up with big plays, but the overall function of this group can be questionable. I'm not familliar with how sucessfull Willamette's passing game is...could someone elighten me?
All and all I'll be hoping for a 2004 repeat.

Scoring defense: Willamette 17.0, Oxy 18.4
Rushing: Willamette 254.5, Oxy 236.6
Rushing defense: Willamette 137.3, Oxy 81.2
Passing: Willamette 144.0, Oxy 229.0
Passing defense: Willamette 175.9, Oxy 226.4
Total offense: Willamette 398.5, Oxy 465.6
Total defense: Willamette 313.2, Oxy 307.7

According to these stats it looks like its going to be one great show in Salem this next weekend. I feel a little guilty when I say that I AM PUMPED to see the Tigers and the Bearcats go at it in up here. Oxy and the rest of the western conference teams always get the royal treatment. But if Oxy prevails they will be hosting for 2 subsequent games.
Lets hope for a first round victory so we can see UWW or St. Johns come play in the soot laden sky. I'm sure the tigers have already acclimated to the harsh conditions....I know Dale won't be taking it easy.

Can't a fan express some enthusiasm. I dont't feel that just saying "I can't wait to see Oxy edge out Will." gives me much credibility as player turned fan. From first hand experience, I know that the players are excited for a big time victory and not just a squeaker.....

Ouch. It hurt more than I thought. i'm currently re-thinking my prior decision....I think I'm going to copy and paste all my documents from word from now on. Thanks for the help Tooth. Maybe I'll just send you all my posts and you can give them the once through.
Back to football. With Redlands ranked what are the chances they get a Pool C bid? I'm praying against this as I want to witness a Tiger whooping of the bearcats.

Well thanks for the advise. As of right now I'm at a school computer that is not equipt with Firefox. I'm not sure I'll down load FF on my personal PC. I dont see the point if thats the only reason i will be doing so. Ill take my chances with the petty fools who deside to edit my postings....All I'll have to return is....have you ever heard of a little school call OXY!

I know your son. I threw for Oxy as well so we were familiar with eachother through that. You cant really make friends while playing a football game....just too much emotion going on. Hope LR can play. But if you want him to sit try to sell the fact that he may be able to get another year of eligibility out of it...That might work.

63 for 8 years.....The greatest of my life thus far. After 4 years of Grad school we'll see what being a real adult brings to the table.

Well I figure that I've read this board enough and its about time that I start chipping in. I'm a recent Oxy grad who is stuck up in Portland for Grad school......I'm really hoping Oxy plays Willamette 1st round so I can see atleast 1 game live. Ive been paying close attention to rankings and now that Redlands is back in the top 25 why would the NCAA deny them the Pool C bid.......other than the fact that the NCAA loves to screw over the SCIAC?
?
Any thoughts?
