Was anyone else reminded of 1983 NC State? Whittenburg to Charles for the title? Just needed coach Marcus Kahn to run around looking for someone to hug.

NCAA tournament matches are first to two points. First is the traditional 5 bowler team game, second is 5 baker game total. Then if necessary a best of 7 baker games. (For those unfamiliar, baker games are where the team bowls a single game so leadoff bowls frames 1 and 6, second bowls frames 2 and 7, etc.)

In the opening round of the NCAA tournament St Vincent lost to Belmont Abbey 2-1 (traditional team game: 876-918, 5 baker games: 956-812, best of 7 baker games 1-4) and were eliminated.

Carroll won their opening round match 2-1 over Fayetteville St (909-856, 890-892, 4-0) and advanced to double elimination play but lost 2-0 to #1 ranked Jacksonville St (899-1062, 852-1046) and then 2-1 to defending champs Youngstown St (902-890, 891-917, 0-4)

The four regional winners headed to the championships are Arkansas St, Jacksonville St, Vanderbilt, and Wichita St

The 2025-26 NCAA Women's bracket is out. Two D3 teams are in the 19 team field.

Carroll (52-35) won the CCIW tournament and is headed to the Lansing regional. They will face Fayetteville St, a D2 school from North Carolina, in the opening round which is single elimination. If they win they'll move on to the double elimination portion of the bracket and take on Jacksonville St who is the #1 team in the country.

St Vincent (45-3) repeated as AMCC champs and will head to the Pittsburgh regional. The Bearcats finished with the best record in the country with a .938 win percentage. They also play in the opening round facing Belmont Abbey, a D2 school from North Carolina. If they win they'll face 3rd overall seed Arkansas St.

Bowling is currently only NCAA sanctioned for women and there's no divisions so D3 schools can compete against schools like Nebraska, Vanderbilt, and Wichita St. Last year the championship was won by Youngstown St over Jacksonville St

Congrats to Denison on winning the title 55-41 over Scranton. After only going 15-11 last year and 10-16 just three years ago, they finished 30-2 and lift the Walnut and Bronze.

Should have combined it with bowling. The PBA was in Fort Wayne this week for the Indiana Classic. The televised finals are tomorrow and I bet that will have at least 200-300 in attendance.
