2 starters, lets not forget about a certain All-Tournament Catcher ;)  Hendrix had a very good run to close the year but the record and history put them exactly where they belong in the preseason rankings. They finished third in the West 2009 season and they will most likely finish there again this year. As long as they just get in the tournament!
Am looking forward to a visit to Jackson this weekend as Hendrix will be playing both baseball and basketball. Reminds me again of the 2nd lost starter ;)
Hope for lots of sun to melt the 4 inches of snow still on the ground in Conway.

Another great victory for Thad McCracken and the Lady Warriors! When are these ladies going to get some national votes?!? When playing their game there is no one better in the conference. Consistent shooting and rebounding are very hard to beat. 5 deep in the backcourt 5 deep in the frontcourt. The Depauw Hendrix rematch in Jackson is gonna be a great one!

Defending SCAC Champs....Hendrix College will open up tomorrow at the University of Dallas. They bring a lot of guys back and look out for 1B Jeff Forgeson finally out of Daniel Ward's hefty shadow to carry the lineup. Returing the entire infield, corner outfield, and starting pitching staff I am very excited to see how far they will go this year.
If you guys remember I made the outlandish prediction before the tournament last year that Hendrix would bring home the hardware so I've decided to make another such prediction.....2010 SCAC Pitcher of the Year: Soph. from Hendrix Ted Smoyer...
Look forward to another amazing season
That is all.

Well good news to all Hendrix fans who agree with the previous post! Daniel Ward is a volunteer assistant coach for the Warriors! What an addition to an already stellar coaching staff!!!!

Todd Ward is by far the best player in the conference in my opinion. No disrespect to Danny Noll but I believe Mason has a lot more to do with Noll's success then Ponder does with Ward.
That kind of athlete is very rare in D3 and I think with two straight first round eliminations he will come out of this offseason ready to go.  He is a matchup problem for every team in the conference and I don't think there is another player you can say that about. I am really looking forward to seeing how he and the Stormy Petrels do this year as they seem to have the most coming back.

Hello all! New poster to the Women's board. I am a follower of Hendrix and the SCAC. I think Hendrix will surprise the league this year with a new coach and style. Hendrix has always had top tier talent but always seemed to underperform down the stretch. Didn't know too much about the previous coach but it seemed that alot of supporters were in favor of the decision for a change. Byler is obviously an elite player in the SCAC but with word of injury issues HC might need to look elsewhere early in the year. Morris, the point guard, hopefully will be 100% after she lost her sophmore season to a knee problem. She is a guard that for her size can really score and run an offense. She is a small guard but is crafty and is lights out with deep range at times. With experienced players inside, White, Merritt and Hensy, the front court needs one or two scorers to emerge and HC will be a force in the West. I am looking forward to see what the new coach will be doing offensively and defensively. Some early season scrimmages and exhibitions should be key to getting their season off right.

Hello again all. Is it already time for baseball! It seems like just yesterday that Hendrix was hoisting the trophy in Jackson!  ;D
Hendrix is still a very talented team but will not sneak up on anyone this year. Only losing four seniors they seem to have the players to make another run at the title but who knows how they will respond to being in the discussion in the preseason for a change. I've heard that they recently recieved some very extravagent champ. rings and hopefully they do not settle for just one.
Well I'm sure we will get more indepth with preseason talk after christmas but just wanted to chime in a bit. Hendrix did not make any friends in the SCAC and i'm sure no one would like to see them anywhere close to the trophy this year. Good luck to all schools preparing for the upcoming season.

Hello all! New to the basketball board this year. Collected my winnings from Vegas after predicting Hendrix baseball winning the 2009 SCAC tourney. Follower of Hendrix and the SCAC. Looking forward to a new Hendrix team this year without King, Foley, Wible and....Bertrand. So basicially Hendrix will rely on soph. Nick Heathscott to hold down the inside, something he showed flashes of last year if he can stay out of foul trouble. Heathscott could be the best true post player in the conference this year. It seems the cupboard might be a little bare for Priest with bigs....hopefully someone can emerge to spot Heathscott a few minutes here and there.
Seniors Cal Rose and Janson Hightower should be able to carry the back court but it will be interesting to see who else will emerge to put the ball in the hoop. Look for Ryan Rizos to play significant minutes this year. A junior who could play the 3 or 4 is a deceptively quick scorer who could really give opposing defenses matchup problems.
With the conference really up in the air this year any team has a shot to cut down the nets in the Hanger Dome!
Well I think that is enough for me for one night. Good luck to all schools and hope for another exciting year of SCAC basketball.

Top 7 Centre up 3-1. Centre looks to playing some impressive defense. Millsaps just had Owen thrown out at home to end the sixth.  Jake Jones, 5H 1ER through 6...
Could the East upset #1 in the nation??
I wonder what Hendrix is thinking right now?

Hendrix wins game #1 10-7 against Depauw.  Hendrix scores 4 in the top of the ninth to take the lead for good. Depauw loads the bases in the bottom half, but only gets one across and a 3rd to 1st double play ends the game. Gerlach got hit pretty hard in the first three innings but beared down and held Hendrix in check for the next three. Wasn't overpowering but seemed to really have command of three pitches.
One side note for Hendrix is that Gnat threw 5 1/3 probably over 80 pitches to pick up a win out of the bullpen. This should be a factor for the next few days as Gnat seemed to be the go to guy for Hendrix out of the bullpen.

Rhodes and Trinity both had runners on base in the first but couldn't get a run across.  This is looking to be a very good game.
