"Soft" Defensive game plan yesterday reminds me of the Stagg Bowl last year.  Maybe that is the Bend but don't Break D saved for games where the opponent matches up better (physically & speed) with MUC???

Did you see what Coppage did for UWW yesterday?  MUC has a long way to go if they want to defend the Championship in December.

If MTU has some way to go, this game was needed.  Whether MTU succeeds will depend on which happens first:  MTU sees the weaknesses that led to the near-upset and fixes them, or an opponent sees them and exploits them for real damage.

Being tested in a strong conference (the OAC has multiple ranked teams and often more than just its champion in the playoffs) is an avantage which, in the FBS of Division I, we see in the Southeastern Conference.  That this league has ruled the FBS in recent years is no coincidence.

I read that Mount Union College/University will add engineering in the fall of 2010, the implication being that this was one of the factors behind the name change.  Being from NE Ohio, I can only guess what might have been if, in the late 1970s, there had been a Mount Union University with engineering available as an option for me, instead of my going elsewhere to study in that area.  Would have been good now to say I went there.

It's still near my hometown, so GO RAIDERS !!!

Same for me too.  I ended up at Akron U because MUC didn't have an engineering program.

Only real football playing + engineering option for me was ONU.  But I grew up in a town of barely a 100 people (Paris, OH) and didn't want to go to college in one too.

How ironic, my undergraduate school was Akron :)!  I think it's named The University of Akron.

Ada, OH, home of ONU, is a bit mroe than 100 people; but yes, rather far from any large metropolitan area.
