"2). Middlebury Panthers (3-0; LW: 2): Kudo's to O-line Coach Dave Caputi for teaching his guys to hold on every play and only get caught about 1% of the time..."

Is that the only way Midd could have upset your Cardinals, Nescacman?
We think you have kinda nailed it, if in a snarky way.
Midd's coaching staff does have their players ready to play on Saturday.

Not sure how Middlebury offense holding held the Bowdoin to 10 points of offense. Middlebury is playing for Bob Ritter's last year. The 2000 Middlebury Panthers did the same for Mickey Heinecken. Bob deserves to go out on top. I hope it happens.

Same! :)

Amhurst adds a historically inept offensive performance to what has already been an awful 2022 season...a few tidbits from yesterday's game...no touchdowns (now 2 total TD's in 3 games), 1 trip in to the red zone (that makes 4 trips in 3 games),  24 yards rushing on 20 carries, 8 total first downs (including 2 via Hartford State penalty), 175 yards of total offense, 13 for 31 passing including 3 interceptions (including one for a pick 6), 11 punts, 26 minutes of total possession time, and the highlight, 1 of 15 on third down. The LMs leading rusher had 13 yards on the ground. About the only highlight for the LMs yesterday: their punters averaged almost 41 yards per punt on those 11 punts.

The HS defense is decent but they are by no means the '85 Bears...

This upcoming weekend the big match up will be Colby at Wesleyan. I think if Colby comes out victorious they will pole vault to top tier team for this year. The victory will really put monkey wrench in championship race.On the same token Williams could be a spoiler as they travel to Middlebury. However key injuries to starting LT of Williams and a few others and there inability to throw the ball effectively makes the chances slim. I think another loss puts tem at bottom tier for this year and Tufts has shown offensively that they belong on top tier.

The LMs have now scored 19 points in 3 games for an average of about 6 points a game...more on this developing story later as HCOF EJ awaits all of those Lord Mammoth legacies to arrive.

You know what NESCACMAN wants for Christmas? Charlie to learn how to properly use the "quote' feature on D3 Boards!

That's hilarious, but in his defense, it does take a few tries for newbies. :)

So sad to hear the news of MUC57's passing. His posts were always wonderful and respectful. He seemed like such a nice guy who loved everything Mount Union.

I remember when you guys came out to Linfield for a playoff game. You guys were very good and had a very good QB and HalfBack.... does anyone remember that?

I sure do.  You're right. In QB, Spencer Stanek and RB, Nick Kukuc you saw two of the best in school history but we just couldn't stop turning the ball over that day.  Looking for a great day out of the Cards this Friday! Go Cards!
Linfield QB was really good. Your guys had a tough time stopping our RB (192 yds on 25 carries), but we turned the ball over 7 times (5 int, 2 fumbles), including a pick-6 and a fumble at the goal line by another RB.  I remember sitting in the stands wishing we would just give the ball to RB Kukoc on every play.

I was sitting in the stands hoping we'd pull that one out.  I didn't want the season to end just yet. Tough day.

While this board has gone nearly dormant, I still consider "CCIW Chat" to be my home.  So with sadness I announce that as of Tuesday morning, out beloved dog Shelby will be no more.  She had a good life (and by large dog standards a long life - we adopted her when she was full-grown, but from her third shelter, so no birth records existed - both the shelter and our vet thought she was 3, which would make her 15.)

She now sometimes collapses for no apparent reason, has almost stopped eating, etc.  Unfortunately we can't enter her brain to know if she thinks life is still worth living, but her coughing fits SEEM painful, and she has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure.  Tomorrow I'm buying her a steak for her last meal.  RIP, Shelby. :(

Awww, that's so sad. Worst part about owning a pet, is knowing when it's time to say good-bye.  :'( :'(

He's a great kid who went to the junior high where I teach. He'll work hard to get on the floor.
Thanks for the scoop, NCF.

IWU seems to be the place where many of our former students are going these days. :D

I thought you were supposed to be pointing them to NCC...or Middlebury.

I do give them a hard time when I see them at the gym, but you know kids, they have a mind of their own and don't listen to reason. ::) ::) ;D ;D :D :D :P :P
