Different Regionals different rules. At NY Regional, EConn plays parts of THREE games on Friday. EConn starts Friday completing a rain delayed Cortland game(ECONN lost). Then beats Clarkson. Then starts a game vs. Brockport at 11pm.  However at foggy New England Region, WNEC stays undefeated beating Bridgewater State thinking they would play late Saturday afternoon for the championship vs. the winner of the Wheaton/St. Joe game winner vs. Bridgewater. But the Wheaton vs. St. Joe's game was suspended in the seventh inning tonight due to fog so they will finish on Saturday. The winner will then play Bridgewater. WNEC being undefeated should the play late Saturday  afternoon.  HOWEVER, unlike the NY regional preference to play-on, WNEC's advantage of playing a team who had already played Saturday was taken away by having the Championship game or games moved to Sunday. The undefeated advantage of WNEC is diminished due to this QUESTIONABLE scheduling change. Two regions Two different formats????  Obviously, whoever plays WNEC in the finals is advantaged by this NCAA/ECAC decision. They get a nights rest when in the past they would have played their 2nd game of the day vs. WNEC.

Both Wheaton and Eastern Conn. were beaten this week by WNEC. Their game this week could be a good one. WNEC has some quality late season wins and appears ready for The CCC Tournament next week with a 29-8 record thru the ECONN victory yesterday. May is shaping up to be a great tournament season.

Even better maybe a Mansfield,Ct NCAA Regional would be a more level playing field if the home team who could not even get to the LEC FINAL was not playing in Conn. If they get a bid maybe they should be shipped out. They have built a great program there but maybe its time for common sense and fairness to win out.

With today's LEC results the at large bid is certainly up for grabs. A great tournment with very good teams that had very exciting games. ECONN probably was a lock if they lost in the LEC Championship. But they did not make it that far opening the door for other teams. Maybe its time for other New England teams that have better records and similar SOS to experience the NCAA Regional opportunity. Reputation has carried ECONN for many years. Time for new blood? ???

With KSC going down in flames today. Good team --Bad day! Who gains the advantage for the regionals? Westfield State or Curry now in better position unless ECONN does not win LEC?

Word, WNEC if they can overcome the tough Westfield State + Endicott losses by improving infield defense can be a dangerous opponent going forward. Their strength of schedule especially non conference has to be one of the tougher ones in the Northeast. Noticed some ranked teams don't play very difficult non- conference schedules to keep down the losses. Several TCCC teams improved themselves this year with incoming freshmen esp. Endicott.

The WNEC -Endicott Saturday Doubleheader at Trelease Park (WNEC) ended with a split with WNEC almost sweeping. In the first game WNEC with Matt Rogers pitching jumped out to a 8-0 lead settling for an 8-4 victory. WNEC had a 5-2 lead in the 7th inning of the second game with closer Mike Lawlor on the mound when a combo of key Endicott hits and poor WNEC infield defense allowed 5 runs to score. Endicott wins a comeback 7-6. WNEC is a very good team (earlier beat #1 Johns Hopkins) that occasionally struggles with infield errors. With Saturday's results, the TCCC ends with WNEC, Curry, and Endicott sharing the regular season title, but by tiebreaker Curry will be top seed in the playoffs starting Tuesday. Should be a great week of baseball in the TCCC.

Starter Evan Michaud and WNEC were cruising with a 5-1 lead into the bottom of the 5th against a very good Westfield State team when two huge errors including a three base throwing error changed the complexion of the game bigtime. WNEC's 11 game win streak ends ugly. WNEC- Endicott Saturday should be a classic.
