BW--What does the margin have to be in order to qualify as a "monkey stomp"? At least 21 points, I would  guess.

I wonder whether the UWRF AD or Coach Walker have had any calls from parents concerned about frostbite Saturday.

BDB--Haven't decided whether to attend game or watch from Johnnies Bar. My forecast says 0 degrees high but negligible wind. So if I "dress warm" it may be enough.

Quote from: cubs on December 06, 2025, 02:03:42 PMNot to be outdone, Platteville making some mistakes of their own. After jumping out to a quick 10-0 lead, though one could argue it could be more after settling for a FG despite having 1st and Goal from the one yard line. That defensive stop seemed to shift the momentum, as Bethel went down and scored to make it a 10-7 game. The Pioneers then put a drive together but throw an INT at the two yard line on 2nd Down. Platteville seems to answer with an INT of their own but a roughing the passer penalty wipes it out and Bethel scores after the second chance to take a 14-10 lead.
Platteville in position to score before the half with another 1st and Goal inside the Bethel 10 yard line and promptly turns it over on a sack/fumble with under 20 remaining.

Thanks for the recap. I was at the Wisconsin-Marquette game so I could only check the scores now and then. Congratulations to River Falls on your big win today. They will be hosting Wheaton which has been somewhat of a surprise this playoff season.

Thanks, Palum.

Quote from: emma17 on December 06, 2025, 06:18:13 PMI think it was a good showing by the WIAC today. Turnovers hurt UWP and UWL but that often separates the best from the very good.

UWRF played well- Blaha took a pounding. I saw him limping, I hope he's good to go next Saturday. Congratulations to the Falcons.

Blaha ok. Thanks, Emma.

Quote from: sfury on December 07, 2025, 01:16:30 AMPossibly a good omen for River Falls.

In 2005, the Johnnies traveled to a powerful but still somewhat of an upstart Wisconsin program: Whitewater. St. John's took a 7-0 lead, capitalizing on an early Whitewater turnover. I remember thinking, ah, here we go, Johnnies have been here so many times before, it's going to be more of the same. Final: Whitewater 34, SJU 7.

I guess what I'm saying is, River Falls fans: Get ready to win six national titles in the next decade.

Thanks! But that may be a bit ambitious.

art76--I agree about the RF fans on the refs. Also did not appreciate the booing when SJU came on the field before the game.

Mitch Hall, Palum:  thanks.
Blaha not seriously injured and actually ran on the field to replace Fitzgerald after his injury, to the leg he does not have a brace on. But Ben Wesolowaki became the third qb.

Thanks, Emma. Did not appreciate booing when SJU came on the field or taunting calls from RF fans. Also did not expect one dimensional SJU offense. Trey Feeny appeared slow in every respect to me. But he could afford to be slow bcuz SJU O line very good prorotecting him.

Duffman--No charge (thatI'm aware of) for tailgating. It happens in last 3 lanes on south side of parking lot.

Kaleb Blaha is 23, not 25. His first year at UWRF was 2021. A medical red-shirt year after his second hamstring injury gave him an extra year.

RF last beat SJU in 1937 when I was 4 years. old. Since then RF is 0-9 against the Johnnies. What does that portend? Nothing. The game will be close but the string of wins will end.

Am expecting a much tougher game from St. John's than Falcons got from Chapman.Falcons will have to play at the level they did last Saturday to avoid a loss.I think the last game between RF and the Johnnies was a 17-14 last minute Falcon loss at SJU in 2013.

Unfortunately, the seating accommodations at Ramer Field are really bad because rental bleachers are in place in preparation for future replacement. They are inadequate in length and barely rise high enough to see over the players even at the top level.I wondered a few weeks ago when it became known that UWRF would be a host school whether the bleacher situation would prevent hosting.

Regardless, I look forward to seeing a large crowd of Johnnie fans December 6.

RF wins a no turnover game on a snowy, blustery day. Blaha sits most of 4th quarter as Fitzgerald comes in and tosses two passes in his 2 first plays, the second for a TD.That's what you call depth. No team I'd rather see us beat than St. John's. IT WILL HAPPEN NEXT SATURDAY.
