There is one on the 30th against Cisco jc. I haven't heard about the second one...

Quote from: Ron Boerger on August 08, 2025, 11:35:49 AMIt does look like Dorien Hill is going to Trinity as his Xitter profile now says Linebacker 🐯 - if not Trinity then one of the couple dozen Tiger mascot schools.

Only school I saw he officially visited was East Central University in Oklahoma, so I think that may be where he ended up. Rooting for him obviously, but man what a shame we couldn't work something out to keep him here.

If anyone is interested, I've published a few threads on my twitter/X account previewing UMHB football position groups heading into 2025.

Defensive Line Preview https://x.com/CouchCru17/status/1949509479629730273

Still need to knock out the offensive line and linebackers before fall camp starts.

This could be a darn fun season for Cru football fans even more so if we put a good squad together.

Home games vs Bethel TN, UW Whitewater, Tx Wesleyan and Hardin Simmons. Doesn't get much better than that!

Credit to Harmon for getting it done.

Quote from: CruFrenzy on May 17, 2025, 02:16:08 PMI think our non con should be a great test, should tell us a lot about where our program is at right now.

Agree 100%. I don't want to hear any more talk about the Cru's weak non con schedule. One D2 opponent, One D3 national powerhouse, and two of the best NAIA teams in the country (one of whom beat us handily last year). Coach better have this team ready to play...

Who is the second NAIA team we are playing?

I must've missed that. Other than Bethel TN.

I like it. Average to above average D2 opponent 1100 miles away from home, now that's a game if you don't show up for you will get absolutely ran through.

I think our non con should be a great test, should tell us a lot about where our program is at right now.

Etch might have already shared this, if he did my apologies but it was somewhat notable so I'll (re)share.

UMHB lands Jaden Lenore 6'3" 310 lb defensive tackle, originally class of 24. Seems to have either taken a year off or was injured. Was still "looking for a home" as of late December 2024.

Had D1 offers from UT Martin, Mississippi Valley State, Alabama A&M, Alcorn State. If he can get into shape could be a nice addition with the loss of Botts (Rice) and Cavness (Graduation).

Quote from: CruFrenzy on April 28, 2025, 05:19:17 PMI didn't say he lead the nation in passing yards. But there's a case to be made.

Top 5 best QBs in NO PARTICULAR order from 2024

Zac Boyes - Cortland State
Syverson - SJU
Luke Lehnen- NCC
Kaden Brown - ETBU
Simptimphelter - John Carroll
I wonder how he would have done with the supporting cast that Luke Lehren or Zac Boyes had.

Or if he had just had a few more passing attempts. He had 250 attempts compared to most of these others that had 300 and 400+. With the exception of Lehnen who seemingly threw a TD on every attempt  ;D

Quote from: Ron Boerger on April 26, 2025, 02:51:41 PMFormer ETBU QB Kaden Brown is back in the portal after concluding spring practice at La Tech.  Good grief.

Word at the rumor mill is there is mutual interest between UMHB and Brown... wouldn't that be a turn of events.

Would be fascinating to see what coach Lee could do with Mouser AND Kaden Brown, who may have been the best QB in D3 football last season.

Getting the Bethel (TN) game set is really solid for me. I know they're NAIA but from a team building/experience standpoint it will be a fantastic opportunity for our guys to get their lick back and against a top 10 caliber NAIA team nonetheless.

The UTRGV concept is interesting, they'd probably make us travel to Edinburg (6 hour road trip) but we would likely win that game vs a first year FCS team. Either way that's probably going to remain a hypothetical - the idea is intriguing but I don't think it's likely to happen.
