Maryville defeated #27 Centre in their first game, and #18 (0r #14 depending on which poll you look at) Emory yesterday. As someone previously stated, they are playing 10 or 11 deep and with not too much of a drop off. They did lose one of their post players against covenant but not sure for how long. She was on crutches at the Emory game. January will be an interesting month because the scotts will face both Ferrum and Christopher Newport at that time. Will be fun to watch.

Next week the season begins. Kind of surprise Maryville was picked second in the preseason poll. I realize preseason doesnt mean a whole lot. Just have to wait and see how it holds up. Maryville will definitely get tested early. Center is up first and #14 Thomas More folows that. Interested in seeing what anybody else thinks.

How will Maryville and Lagrange stack up against Piedmont this year? I wasnt too impressed with Piedmont until they beat Greensboro. Their schedule had looked pretty weak up to that point. Is Greensboro down this year or is Piedmont that good? From the stats I've seen, Wheeler has been dominating up to this point in the season. Looking forward to seeing how she does against a little tougher competition.

Anyone have any thoughts about how Piedmont, Maryville and LaGrange will stack up next year in the USA South Conference? I know Maryville will have all but one returner, Lagrange will probably have everyone back and Piedmont will lose Wheeler. How about Greensboro and C-N next year?
