Quote from: Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan) on March 07, 2026, 07:40:15 AMSo, I can't click the "opt out" on the email preference page, even after clicking edit on the top.  I can't seem to click anything on that page or through to the challenges.

This has been fixed in the dev environment and will be included in the nightly update to production. There will be a note in the emails that go out tonight. Hoping to have a couple other new features in there tonight, too, before I have to stop working on this for the next two weeks to focus on indoor track.

::blank stare::

I'll get that fixed before we send out the first email... I swear I tested all the things before moving to live. Also that explains the surprising 100% retention. I'm more surprised that you're the first one to say anything.

Hey everyone!

Just a quick note to let you know that I did a buuuuuuuunch of updates to d3challenge the last few days that you're just now going to be able to see.

Biggest one is you can download an up-to-date PDF version of your brackets. You need to first review your bracket before you can download the PDF. The PDF also has all the winners and losers clearly marked and shows you where your eliminated teams fall short later in the bracket. At the bottom you will also find a key and the breakdown of your points by round.

Also on the standings pages you will see not just your points but the total possible points you could get the rest of the tournament. You can also view the other brackets in the challenge.

There's a dark mode that you can activate if you want to see the site in a dark space.

Carrying from past years it's possible to get the numbers on who picked what winners in each round... like finding out that 8 brackets had Maine-Farmington winning in the first round.

If you have other ideas on functions for the site please feel free to pop over to the provide support page and drop us an email. Also there's zero advertising on the platform and I hope to keep it that way but development doesn't come free. If you have the ability to help out check out the options on that page as well.

Cheers! And thanks for your support of not just us over at d3photography but also D3hoops.com and the rest of the D3sports.com Network.

Glad it's working now and much appreciated. Trying to make the process a little more user friendly for mobile devices. Hoping to get it done this afternoon yet.

Quote from: WPI89 on March 04, 2026, 01:13:59 PMAnyone been able to enter the bracket challenge - I have discovered about 14 different ways for it not to let me in so far.

Can you try again and DM or email me (support@d3photography.com) with what you're seeing?

I did reboot a related server a few moments ago but I'm also at my computer working on a feature in development so I can look into anything quickly.

Quote from: repete on November 29, 2025, 05:52:22 PMApparently snow angels are verboten in d3, but not the Big Ten.
I thought it was an appropriate celebration given the conditions today.

Me too. Iowa crew probably grumpy about a long drive down 35 tonight.

FWIW it was very confusing as to WHY the penalty was called... the only thing I could come up with was the receiver did not actually attempt to return the ball before doing the snow angel.

Many of the SJU photogs on the sideline were similarly frustrated by the call.

Also one of the reasons I chose to run the snow angel photo as the gallery highlight. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Congratulations to d4_Pace and paclassic89 for tying for 14th place in the d3challenge.com bracket challenge.

https://d3photo.com/

I hope we can get more users in it next year -- it's been a few years since we hosted a soccer challenge (or any challenge) so the smaller numbers this year weren't discouraging but actually made me excited to keep the project going forward.

I'll see you all in November, 2024!

It took a pretty massive comeback (down 0-2, survived 6 match points) but we did eventually send Whitewater back to Wisconsin without the regional championship.  On to LA for the elite eight.

It's been a pretty impressive season for them this year, that's for sure. It's been fun watching them play the few times I made it over for matches.

@Ryan. I believe you left out the part where you sued first, for a crazy amount of money and damages. The SID made a mistake, and they tried to discuss. You can't go scorched earth and then complain when they disengage from the nonsense. Agree it didn't have to get here. But the insanity of your initial lawsuit played a part. There's blame to go around.

We enforced our license, $50 per image per use, and sent them an invoice.

They then told us to pound sand, lied in the statements they made to us, and refused to take our calls.

We have not filed a suit on the school.

They put 3,196 photos of ours for sale, sold many, pocketed the money, and when they admitted it refused to return that money to us.

So... who's the bad guy here?

[Edit]
I'll gladly clear up all the misinformation and rumor being spread on this. The only times we've held detail back was while we were trying to sit down to come to a resolution with the school and they were dodging their responsibility. Once those attempts were fully exhausted we started publishing the name of the school that stole from us and on July 1, 2023, we dropped their name from our website completely – five years after they told us to buzz off and banned us from their campus.

TSIAH - The school in Arden Hills, MN.

I know a bit of the history between BU and the folks at D3 Photography - this makes me chuckle.

(Go to the bracket challenge for where I am getting this info.)

That's funny, but frankly a little embarrassing and unprofessional for d3photo.

I spent five years trying to simply have a conversation with that school.

I called them every month for two years.

They refused to talk to me, or my partner.

They even went as far as to ban not just d3photo from their campus but at one time banned D3sports as well.

They still refuse to come to the table to discuss things.

They only let their lawyers talk and they will not talk to us because we do not have a lawyer at this time. We cannot afford to hire the lawyers needed to get them to tell us to pound sand.

Five years, tens of thousands of dollars, spent trying to get them to simply talk to us.

We are broken.

They have lost the privilege to be referred to by their name.

Unprofessional? Maybe. I'd rather be called "unprofressional" than commit fraud, steal, lie, and cover up those actions like the school has.

Everything you said may well be correct, but I didn't check week 3...when you think about it, you're going to be a little red-faced. The UST/SJU game was sandwiched between the week 4 and week 5 vote. I'm not sure how the week 3 poll would reflect what was going to happen 2 weeks later!! So obviously, my comments referred to the week 4 top 25 and the one that came out today, week 5. The numbers are like this:
{snipped}

Very good point. I'm not used to the new site yet, apparently.

I stand corrected.

Thanks for the optimistic tone bp. SJU falls to  #23, UWEC up to #17. I guess that fuels the optimism.

Interesting that St. Thomas lost 4 votes beating the J's by 1, who lost exactly 1/2 their votes from a week prior (158 to 79). Stout remains at 3 votes, with a date at the Perk this Sat; Point drops 57 votes all the way down to 4 with their loss to EC. The Oshkosh yo-yo is a little confusing - they beat RF and pick up 11 votes, then beat LC for almost the first time in modern, recorded history, but lose 16 (now are at 8). EC picked up 41 votes & 1 position beating Point by 6 in OT. I look forward to see what they do at Platteville this week. Trine (winner over Adrian by 1 score) moves down 1 position, but in the process, picks up 18 votes :-\.  EC, SJU, Stout, Oshkosh, probably even Point beats Trine on any given Sat or Thurs, IMO). Interesting!!  ;)

Actually, UST gained 4 points (I'd wager that they are on every single ballot both weeks).
Week three: 543 points: http://d3football.com/top25/2010/week3
Week four: 547 points: http://d3football.com/top25/2010/current

The lot took over 4600 photos and 20 minutes of video.

I've edited both down to 619 photos and about 10 minutes.

Well, obviously, there was no need to bring the trophy to UST, Ryan.

That's not the point. If you lose, you have to give up the trophy. If it is, indeed, a "traveling" trophy.

In all the other trophy games, the "prize" itself goes to the location of the particular game.
