It's just like watching a practice. The coaches must agree to let people watch. About 100+ there. Mostly parents of both teams and a few UWP students

Stevens Point scrimmaged on Friday night vs. UW-Parkside. Point was able to dictate the tempo and controlled the game for much of the first half. Toward the end of the half Parkside used it's very obvious advantage in athleticism to start changing the tempo. Estimated half time score...point by 3 or 5.
Second half was all Parkside. They were able to do pretty much what they wanted. Of the estimated 30 points point scored in second half, at least 6 or 9 were on last second threes to beat the shot clock. My guess for Parkside in the second half was mid 40's. I heard one person in the stands say 46-30 as a score for the second half...probably about right.
Point misses Krull because they do not yet have a person to throw it to in the post that can score and/or get fouled. Krull was also high on the team in assists last year which created many shots for the others. Friday night, I can't remember many times a player scored on a post move. Point scored off of three point shots from penetration and kick or off penetration and then hitting a backdoor cut for a layup. They still really shoot it well. At least 10 threes were hit.
Parkside was picked to win the GLVC East by the coaches. They aren't tall in the post but have guards that are big and pretty athletic with good skill. LaVontayFenderson from Racine dominated the second half.
They played a third twenty with a running clock. SP JV vs. UWP walk ons. Not much to report.

Athletic Trainers are the people who collect documentation on injuries. SA's sign off on this issue when arriving on a campus. Medical hardship papers are filed by an institution on behalf on a SA. AD's must sign along with FAR's. Yes, the conference office people are the first ones to look at the papers, however they are instructed to forward anything questionable to the next level.
The Sneed Deedrick situation intrigues me. If true, it must be a DIII rule that I am not aware of. Again, if true, this would mean that a SA that has applied for a medical hardship year at DI or DII and been denied because they played in one game more than allowed could get an entire extra year of eligibility by transferrring to DIII. Doesn't make sense.

Sager,
The D3 bylaw is irrelevant. Valporaiso has to apply for the medical hardship so the DI rules the ones that matter. Don't know them off the top of my head.
You are correct that the concussion must be proven as "season ending." That could be difficult to prove. If the injury happened sometime in early January he probably COULD have played sometime in February. If it was a coaches decision for him not to play the last few games or if he intentionally did not play in hopes of getting the medical redshirt approved, he will not be granted the year. The NCAA committee that decides these has really tightened up lately on this point.
Example from real life...track kid pulls a hamstring in January...sits out two weeks and decides the injury will not let him compete...Medical is denied because he COULD have competed. Doesn't even matter that he would not have been at full strength.

Regarding Raymond playing his last year of eligibility, there is another option that has not been mentioned...transferring to another institution to begin grad school - and play his final year. This is perfectly legal by NCAA standards. I'm not suggesting he make a "basketball" decision to play elsewhere. I'm suggesting it be an academic decision. I know nothing about Wheaton's grad school programs but if they do not have the program he is interested in and another school does...
The only limitation on the school would be it could not be another CCIW school. Any other D3 would be an option, D2 would be an option. D1 would have been an option until the last January NCAA convention. This type of transfer was allowed and the SA was able to compete immediately. At the last convention the administrators changed it. Imagine if Kent would have decided to attend Northwestern for Grad school and also played his final year of eligibility there.

Unsubstantiated rumor from Kenosha... Bosko told some people at the Carthage Redmen golf outing that David Tolefree is not going to end up at Carthage next year.
I say unsubstantiated because I was not there and heard this information second hand, although from a usually reliable source. Take the rumor for what it is worth.

So am I to believe that a backup guard on a team that went 3-24 (1-15) in the POWERFUL mid-con conference is going to be the best player in the CCIW?
For a little perspective, ask yourself if Keelan Amelianovich would have been a starter at Chicago State this year? Heck, he might have been Chicago State's best player!
I have a lot more respect for the CCIW then to believe Tolefree will light up the conference. Yes, I have seen him play by the way...I will be shocked if he is an All-CCIW player.

Is Raridon's son on a tuition waiver at North Central? I don't know that he is for sure, but I imagine as a sibling of a NC employee that he is...Will he/would he have the same tuition waiver at IWU?
I believe that the normal process for these sibling waivers is that the employee would have to have worked at the institution for a minimum amount of time before being eligible for the waiver.
If his son does have to sit a year, does he lose that year of eligibility also?
I have no inside info on it Raridon getting the IWU job other than the two people (coaches) who contacted me telling me that they are preparing resume's for North Central because it is going to open by the end of the week.

No offense taken Sager. The other factor regarding trustworthyness (is that a word) is a persons history of being correct or not. If you look back, I was correct in who interviewed for the position at Lewis and I was correct in the way it all played out. I choose to remain anonymous and I realize that does effect credibility however that is my choice. I am careful that my posts only contain "truths" rather than "rumors" .
Two more "truths"...Al Biancalana wants the IWU job...Kyle Jeffrey is leaving Carthage.

Inside information on how the Trost hiring went down...
Mark Scherer was actually offered the job last friday and turned it down for family reasons. Lewis in turn offered the job to Trost on Monday. Meanwhile, Scherer had a change of heart and called Lewis attempting to accept the job. Lewis told Coach Scherer that they had already moved on to its next candidate and the job is being offered to Trost.
Trost takes the job on Monday night.
If Trost had not taken the job, Ben Wierzba would have been next. Jack Bennett tried to take a page from his brothers book and wanted to bring along his son as an assistant with the intention of him taking over the reigns in a few years. Lewis did not react very well to that request.

My guess on the replacement for Scott Trost is Jim Molinari.
Jim is currently an assistant with the Minnesota Gophers. He is looking to stay one step ahead of the posse as Don Munson has been rumored to be fired soon. He is also a IWU grad who played for Coach Bridges.
I'm sorry but John Baines has absolutely no shot at this job. If you think the premier job in the CCIW will hire an assistant from the CCIW, you do not understand the philosophy of hiring coaches.
Jim Molinari would do an outstanding job in Bloomington.

Ben Wierzba only was interviewed because he is the current assistant. He is not a legitimate candidate from what I hear. The offer to one of the other three could come today.

Jack Bennett is considering getting back into coaching. He has interviewed at D2 Lewis University along with Scott Trost from Illinois Wesleyan and Mark Scherer from Elmhurst. An announcement could come anyday.
