Phil ,
You are not the only LION on the board... I was at the game saturday ..... great homecoming ,  the crowd , activities & tailgate parties ,the campus never looked better , the vibe was upbeat , old friends & a huge victory over Montclair .... unlike the Kean game , were the better team did not pervail , this time we got it right....the  Kean game , ....we outplayed them from the 9 min mark of the 1st qt until we missed our 2nd  chip shot fg from inside the 5 yr line in the final 9 mins of the game... this time we got the job done... TCNJ was the superior team saturday afternoon.... we took it away from in the 4th qtr... stopped the run , pressured the qb , the punt return that set up the final drive that lasted 7:48 was key.... this is a special group,i sensed it while on the sideline w/ the team for the willy p & kean games.....what they do not have in size & numbers they make for with smarts, confidence & an inner swagger.... montclair is better then kean , rowan i haven't seen.... cortland this week will be very very tuff

oh btw , the fake punt in the 3rd period was the punters read , his call, that play did not come from the sideline... tyler olsen , i love ya kid , you've got balls

mwafb,

you seem to have a lot of first hand knowledge regarding the tcnj program & coach hamilton....very interesting..... so do i..... my real name is joe serino, i graduated from tsc, i played football for 3 yrs, i was an a 1st team njac offensive lineman , i wore #68 & the only 2 guys that i can think of that have attended more tsc/tcnj games, attended more football alumni reunions, football golf outings over the past 40 yrs  are coach bones & coach hamilton... there see how easy it was for me to tell everyone my real name ..... not its your turn... whats your name ?

phil,

did you know that ronnie devingo passed away suddenly a few years ago ... he was a workout fanatic... i remember steve washuta, but i have  fonder memories of his sister karen

red hawk,

my entire family, including my father, his brothers & my mothers brothers , myself , my sons & practically all my friends all attended wohs... i  also taught in the system for a few years.... i know that jacobs is a good man & is doing the best he could & i truely hope that you all prove me wrong about the program ... i have been attending games since the early 60's... i remember when richie cataldo connected w/ joey hannon & beat freehold to end a very long losing streak in 64, pete karavaras returning the kickoff to beat columbia the last time the teams met, in 73... serino blocks extra point & wohs hangs on to beat lodi 19-18 after leading 19-0 in 68... the goal line stand vs irvington to open the 67 season w/ a 6-2 win,1965 dave delugash intercepts bloomfield in the endzone on the last play of the game  secures win 18-14... mike arnot picks up fumble & runs for td  1st game of the 69 season , it turns out to be the only points that team scored all season, heppy phillips 25 yr qb sneeke to beat dover in 67, maury sutter , bobby lyons, blues barbato, billy dalton , pauly barbato, derek morrison ,marty damato,  arty miller an so on... i could go on & on ... i still go to games & i will continue, but the administraion of this school system stinks...what goes on the bubble & what goes on the board of edu are two different worlds... hope they prove me wrong , hope to see you at the games

Phil,

steve dolce, rick avagene, matt mangino, ronnie devingo, steve & greg lennard, bill rooney , billy hoatson, d'aries, i grew up w/ all these guys , they played at mountain , i played at west orange... i remember driving out to hofstra to watch andy salerno(wo) & rick avagene play for potomac state jr college against nassau community college, when they were freshman & had dreams of tranferring to wvu to play big time football... they didnt ..... i played for tsc from 68-72...i'm the 1st name on the njac list.... tried  to get rubbino & morrison into tcnj, but they couldn't muster up, but i know that coach ham voted for them to make all  conference, he was well aware of both & wanted them , but it just didnt happen, the rubbino family had already had a son or 2 attend msu prior to rocco , so there was a natural connection...west orange.... will continue to stink, the school  now has a large population of dysfunctional pop culture creeps....not a lot of football players among them !... soccer & track will be ok, but football is way down

Bennie Borsequot... Watched him at west orange hs his senior year, yes he ran wild, but that team had 3 maybe 4 d-1 /& d-2 linemen & a tight end that were very good blocking ahead of him...also wohs plays a weak group 4 schedule.... what did he do his freshman year at rowan that would set him up as the best running back in the njac coming into this season ?...don't get me wrong , i am not down on him, i am a w.o. guy, but in 40 yrs that high school has had only 4 players make all  /njc - njac... joe serino, chris smith, rocco rubino & derick morrison

p.s  i remember them all..... i am getting old

tcnj has a lot of graduation holes to fill on defense... the o returns many players, but special teams & defense are a big question mark.... also i notice that they are traveling up to buff state for the 2nd year in a row.... rich alercio is gone... i think that due to budget situations the position will be shared / absorbed by the remaining assit. coaches... overall they will be a good team .... last years magical run will be hard to duplicate .... msu, cortland, brockport, tcnj & rowan look to be the class of the conference

what a headache i have.... tight game, so many opportunites to score, missed field goals, red zone mishaps, but d'alessio put it thru w/ 18 secs remaining... ...lions take the long ride to alliance next week .... great win fellows.... have drink on me phil

Phil / JT,

I've seen 5 tcnj games this season... they can be very good & then again they can be very sluggish... seemed impossible for them to get up for last weeks game, then when they started a nice comeback & drove inside the 15 w/ a chance to get within 2 points early in the 3rd period , they fumbled it away.... tomorrow if that stuff happens they will lose... if the team that showed up against rowan , montclair, w-conn & cortland  shows up in troy tomorrow they should be able to win, if last weeks team shows up, i doubt it.RPI is be no means a push over, or overrated team... the qb & wr are very good, rb is a freshman, their defense hasn't given up much all season.... if the lions stay away from the penalties & turnovers we should be on our way to ohio.

phil,
wohs 3-7 this year, pulled one comeback upset of passaic valley, but very little talent....the qb ran for his life on every play , no running backs, no recvrs, boys soccer team was down also....a lot of problems in that school , lousy admin. ultra p-c, gang infiltration (yup thats right).... scores way down , in fact 7 newark high schools had higher sat scores then wohs last year, enough said ?

What a beating !.... I have seen 4 TCNJ games, they are improving every week... going into the season , i knew the d- was be good, but the offense  was questionable....they have developed a couple running backs & recvrs. The qb is good, so are the special teams. The defense is very good. Cortlands biggest play today ended w/ them fumbling inside the Lions 15 early in the 1st quarter,... outside of that they didn't come close to scoring.., actually from point on they got slapped around..they took a huge beating , the score could have been in the 50's.... one more conference win & it's back to the playoffs....good for them, they deserve it ....this is a good group, an overachieving group, hard workers, very focused , well coached...

Hey Phil,
How are things down in Texas ?.... Hope all is well.... Lots of golf I bet... great win tonight for the Lions...I saw their game vs FDU , & I have been talkin to coach Ham , so I have to tell you that I am not really shocked.... the defense is good, they have developed a few young rec'vers, even though De Zutter is out for the year... they have opened up & spread out the offense...good qb for this type of spread .It's always good to beat Montclair.

Phil,
how are things down in houston ?...hope your adjusting ... i cant wait until i can get my family out of new jersey...  we will be south carolina bound !!!...youngest son at w.v.u. tells me he doesn't want to come back to nj after he grads...i know what he means & agree w/ him....as far as tcnj goes, this is their weakest team in 15 yrs, no offense, since ross went down i think they have completed 3 passes to a wr, seniors did not step up at all... their special teams look like the  jersey city , willy-p & kean special teams from a few years ago... but you just don't want to debate or cross slide rulers with these guys, they can really kick some butt when it comes to those activites.... btw,  sorry to say....it is not going to get better...impossible to get top leval d3 talent into the program
