OxyBob,

Been years since I've posted on here...Any word on why McCoy didn't start?

It's been quite a long time since I posted, but I just came back from Day 1 at the Lopata. Caught the 2nd half of the CMS game. They had an iffy call go against them with 6 seconds left and F&M got two shots to win the game. I was wondering why Blees was in street clothes, but now I know. Too bad.

Great atmoshphere for Tsinghua vs WashU. Too much size for Tsinghua to handle. They had two good players but didn't run much on offense. I'd say 2000 in attendance.

Took a look at the program for the Lopata.  In 2010 it looks like Wash U, CMS, Franklin and Marshall and Tsinghua University (China) round out the field.

Since I work at Wash U, I will be making the walk across campus to the games this weekend.

PP and CMS seem to be the SCIAC teams that make the trip here most of the time...should be nice to see how PP stacks up.

OxyBob,

Haven't posted in a long time.  Have you seen McCoy play?  Seems like he is doing well.

I'd like to say good luck to both teams.  Obviously, my loyalty is with the Tigers, but both teams are deserving representatives on the West Coast.  It's too bad that they have to face each other in the First Round...

When I look down the rest of the bracket and see some of the other teams that get to host a first round game, I get a little agitated, but the SCIAC and NWC island can't be moved.  Hopefully Oxy wins and gets considered for a 2nd Round home game.

What's the weather like in Salem this weekend, and do any of you think it will be to Oxy's advantage having traveled to the NW before?  I mean, does familiarity count for something here?  Whereas, they could have been sent somewhere none of them had ever been to (Wisconsin, etc)...

Last question, how much, if anything can we infer from the game in 2004.

Did Oxy (and the West) get the short straw again?  Is it true that Oxy was originally scheduled to host...and then have the bracket changed again (as it was in basketball?)  First time on the site today, so pardon me if I missed this if the point was already made/debated...

It has happened before to Oxy in the first round of the bball playoffs.  CMS @ Oxy...when I believe that CMS actually had the better record (could be wrong on that).

Also, in taking a few days off, I can't help but notice the departure of OB.  Whether that's a good or bad thing, I can't comment.

Also, someone was asking about the Mayan Riveria?  While the pools and all inclusive hotels are nice, be sure that you take some time to cross the main highway and take the "Mayan Express" bus into Playa Del Carmen.  Once there, the further inland you get away from "5th Avenue" (I believe), the less touristy and better (and cheaper) the food gets.  Our first night, we took a cab to Playa Del Carmen and it cost 20 bucks.  Soon found out that the Mayan Express bus cost less than a dollar and is comfortable too.  First night, we ate on 5th Avenue for 25 dollars, thought it was a great deal until we found more food at a cheaper price a few blocks inland...

Haven't posted in a long time here.  I'm finding out that a new baby takes a lot of time/adjustment!

Is it true that before the Oxy game, UR was allowing 2.3 yards per game?!?

They should put a link up on the website that shows the progress...

Are there any pictures of the renovation yet?

Just saw on the Oxy website that the Tiger Women have hired a new coach, Heidi VanDerveer.

I can understand the NCAA wanting to save money by pitting Pomona vs. Oxy in the first round, but the trip that bothers me is the one to Whitworth.  Don't tickets from LA to Spokane, or vice versa cost the same amout of money?

Who is the person(s) that control the budget aspect, shouldn't they be "in" on the discussion with the commitee before the bracket gets released?

Congrats to Wash U.  I'm trying to see if I have CSTV on my DishNetwork...Has the channel name been changed to CBSCS?  I'm assuming, CBS College Sports?

Any one know?
