The Big Red continue roll on! The win at Centre has promoted incremental notoriety & last night's game at Capital was another notch. With NCAC conference play beginning this week, Denison has certainly generated a lot of momentum. Wooster & Kenyon continue to move into positive territory. Oberlin, Wittenberg, & DePauw, round out the middle. Hiram and OWU are struggling for points, and the biggest surprise is Allegheny.

Denison continued their winning streak against Otterbein, Baldwin Wallace, & ONU and leads the conference. A big test for the Big Red will be at Centre on Saturday. Wittenberg goes 1-1-1 with the L being delivered decisively by Centre. Wooster plays 4 games in a short stretch and ends up 4-0-0 with an ending win against W&J. DePauw claws back to .500 with a defeat from Centre (ugly trend).
Hiram 1-3-0 started strong but ran aground against Mount Union, John Carroll, and Heidelberg
OWU loses 2 tight ones to Baldwin Wallace & Otterbein.
Allegheny finally scores & wins, but drops 2 more (1-2-0)
Kenyon reverses course and wins 4 straight!
Oberlin gains some points with 1 tie and 2 wins (Defiance & Waynesberg)
All in all, a better round of 18-9-2!
This coming weekend could be season defining moments for NCAC as conference play draws near!

Denison
Allegheny
Kenyon
Wittenberg
DePauw
Wooster
Oberlin
Ohio Wesleyan
Hiram
It appears that Denison's returning "recognized veterans" hold the most promise to win the conference. Never count out Allegheny with Thiessen on the roster and although Romaine graduated from Kenyon, she didn't leave - she's the new assistant coach!. Wittenberg & DePauw never rest on their athletic laurels and can be counted on to unseat any rival. Wooster has a very large incoming class that could surprise everyone. Oberlin, under Coach Palmer, is gaining ground. Hiram has a new skipper and OWU looks to build back to prominence.
Let the fun begin!!!

The Case/DU game was perseverance paying off. The 1-0 losses to Centre, Allegheny, and Kenyon, suffered by DU were fodder for Saturday's win. DU has been a formidable contender in each of these derbies but struggles with finding the back of the net. The conviction in the win my be timely as their momentum is building heading into the conference finals.

gobash83,
I concur.....although anything can happen, preliminary results of the Big Red & the Gators make for a good argument. The outcome of the conference title may occur in the first weekend of conference play!

The inaugural weekend had a mixed bag of scores and results. Denison posted several baseball like scores with a team that's predominately Sophomores & Freshmen.
