Quote from: HSCTiger fan on November 24, 2014, 05:10:54 PMthe only for sure 1st and 2nd team odac players are Nance, Walker, Moore and Dogget the maybees for 2nd and 3rd are Potter, Rohle, and Stack in my opinion ( Nance could even be the first team punter lol)Quote from: tigerfanalso on November 24, 2014, 05:06:17 PM

Will be interesting to see how many kids from HSC get picked first team odac. Given they way we won the odac my bet is not many. Without naming names, how many will be named first team? My bet is no more than four, five tops and this includes both sides of the ball and specialty teams.
I agree with 4 or 5. I don't think more than 7 on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams combined.

I could not tell you how frustrating it is to see him stick to his guns when it is just not working, especially when we were averaging something like 8 yds a carry
I also forgot to mention that Favret probably had bad gameplans in your losses. He refuses to run the ball.

November 16, 2014, 08:38:58 PMQuote from: CMR on November 16, 2014, 05:10:21 PMBut it doesn't count when HSC also dominated that same 8-1 team, back when they were 5-0?Quote from: duck on November 16, 2014, 04:47:03 PMIn one week, GC dominates a very good 8-1 team and HSC is dominated by a 4-5 team. But, it's more the last three weeks, GC and BC are the two best teams and HSC loses badly twice and went to OT in the other! Not the best way to end the regular season, but hopefully they prove me wrong next week.
How did the Quakers get so much better in one week? last week they lost to the Tigers now they are the best team in the ODAC?

November 16, 2014, 12:39:53 PMQuote from: HSCTiger fan on November 16, 2014, 11:20:58 AMI don't know why it is everyone dogs on our oline so much, they've really come in to themselves the last few games, and they definitely do not deserve the blame for the Macon game, in fact they had one of their best games facing a very good RMC dline. Also a lot of those sacks come from Nash's happy feet when the pressure isn't especially bad
ODACSuperFan I disagree with a few of your assessments. First the OL is not nearly as bad as you make them out to be. They gave up 10 sacks in ODAC play - 5 of those came in one game. Shenandoah and RMC combined to have 31 sacks in ODAC play this fall. They combined for 1 sack against HSC. You also mentioned how the HSC defense struggles to sack the QB. That is a true statement. But in the end they finished 2nd in the conference in scoring defense and tied for first in turnover margin at +6.
I doubt anyone has sang Nash Nance's praises or came to his defense more than I have on this board. Sometimes even great players have bad games. So what. It happens. He's had sub par games before. EVERY time he has responded with a spectacular effort in his next game.
2012 at Averett 16/39 169 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs Next game vs. CNU 25/31 5 TDs 0 INTs
2013 at CNU 45/72 345 yards 0 TDs and 5 INTs next vs. USCGA 20/34 282 yards 2 TDs in first half!
2014 at BC 15/34 204 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs next vs. GC runs and throws for 375 yards and 5 TDs
2014 RMC 16/44 171 yards 1 TD and 2 INTs - next week we'll see.

I was really impressed with HSC's oline play this week compared to the rest of the season so far. GC definitely challenged us to run the rock on them by emptying the box, and the line executed very well and with a guy who's never played before starting at left tackle (and Nash Nance being the superstar he is) they looked the best I've seen of them in pass pro too gave a solid pocket 99% of the time. The issues with the dine I think are mostly just issues of size, Tyler palmer is shifty and can pass rush real well, but his arms are so short he has yet to be able to break down and make a play on the QB, Bazemore is just so skinny that he is man handled all too often, and Freddie potter, playing cclassic nose tackle in a 3-3 stack is double teamed constantly.

CUACARD, Can one of you clarify for me, I had heard that Coach Favret was a player at Penn State? Is there any truth to that?

consequences of opposing players/teams placing a bounty on certain players via social media ?
I don't know, but they should be massive...
I'll just leave this here: https://twitter.com/ThePayneTrain99/status/524681972854304769 no actual bounty or anything, but this kid needs to be shut the hell up. Although I have my reservations about the physicality of HSC's O-line, someone needs to step up and make this guy eat his words
Maybe something was taken down but I don't see much here. Just a single ill-advised post. It IS the d-line's job to sack the qb. Now if there really was talk about a bounty or injuring someone, that would be upsetting. But I don't really see any of that in the one post that is up there. This is just putting a marker on your own back. Not real smart, but not real bad either in my opinion. Of course if I was a coach and it was one of my guys, I'd be irritated.
