Does anyone know, has any WIAC team given up more points in a conference game than than the 73 the Blugolds allowed Stout today?

89 points, LX scored on Superior in 1918

Most Points by One Team (Conference Games Only):
89--La Crosse vs. Superior, 1916
76--Stevens Point vs. Oshkosh, 1993
73--Stout vs. Eau Claire, 2022
72--Stevens Point vs. Superior, 1989
70--Whitewater vs. Eau Claire, 1958
70--Platteville vs. Stout, 1970

For only the second time since 1996, there were no ties in the final WIAC standings. Every team lost to the school above it in the standings and beat those below it.

A Dan Arnold touchdown! The former Platteville Pioneer scored for the Cardinals yesterday with a back of the end zone catch. https://www.azcardinals.com/video/kyler-murray-dan-arnold-reaches-high-for-epic-td-grab-browns

I can't imagine the road trips that SNC (and consequently opponents) have endured. Almost 400 miles to Illinois College and Grinnell. That's a lot to ask for student-athletes on busses for regular-season games.

If we don't encourage Superfan, will he/she remain quiet for another 12 years? Just hoping. asking.

Does anyone know UWW's travel plans? Do they make plans to stay in Texas for the week if they win or do they come back Saturday night regardless?

Nice day/night for the WIAC. Platteville's Dan Arnold makes his first career TD catch (http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/0ap3000000991467/Drew-Brees-throws-absolute-DIME-to-Dan-Arnold-for-TD), and Whitewater's Jake Kumerow gets some love in Ian Rapoport's RapSheet (https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1065972243707109376).

WIAC trivial pursuit: this is the first season since 2008 that every team had at least two league wins.

ICYMI 18.1 percent of the Saints' players on the field when Drew Brees broke the all-time passing yardage record once played in the WIAC. Platteville's Dan Arnold (85) and Stevens Point's Ryan Ramczyk (71) were lined up next to each other on the play.

Here's one for ya:

Why did UWW take a knee to run out the clock in a victory...from the pistol formation? I've never seen such an asinine play. Well, they did at La Crosse last week. After that, nothing they do or don't do on offense will surprise me anymore. On second thought, taking a knee from the pistol formation is the second most asinine thing to report today...first by a landslide, trumps presidential wireless emergency alert system test notification.

I don't know that this applies 100 percent to UWW, but if you use pistol exclusively, why would you do something that you are unfamiliar with, a direct snap, to put the game away? The direct snap may be more of a risky play in that sense than a pistol snap.

I think you probably hit the UW-W reasoning spot on.  You've got to appreciate the intensity of Whitewater fans, though. Even with a 23 point lead and the team in victory formation, no scenario is too small for some good old fashioned hand wringing.

OK, that's pretty funny! Thanks for the laugh today.

Emma,

On my never ending quest to figure out how your brain works, I have a serious question for you.  If Alex Peete had broken off 4 or 5 runs of 20 or more yards so far this year, which UW-W "shortcoming" would you be focused on right now?

In no particular order:
Why is there no motion or pre-snap shifts by the O? This is offensive coordinator number 2 under Coach Bullis that has scrapped that aspect of the previous championship teams. Maybe, just maybe, motion and shifting gives UWW the numerical advantage every now and then, along w the possibility of the slightest alignment confusion by the D, and maybe, just maybe, UWW running backs might have just a slightly greater chance of breaking longer runs.

Why doesn't the offense use more shorter passing routes like slants, crossing, outs and tight end routes? Again, all plays used very effectively two OC's ago.

Bombs are fun, but completion percentage is low and once UWW faces more athletic defensive backs, the percentage will get lower.

Why doesn't UWW employ the hurry-up offense more consistently?

After UWO I'll probably have more.

Interesting video from the Saints training camp about former Platteville player Dan Arnold, now playing tight end.

WIAC in the Northwoods League

Jensen Martin (UW-O): Green Bay
Gotta love the fact that they can't even get his name correct, unless there was a formal name change since the end of the season?

I'm assuming that is Catcher, Jensen Hinton from UWO?

Maybe he's the infamous "player to be named later" you see in trades.

I suspect you're correct cubs.  He is listed as a catcher.  I doubled checked this morning just to make sure it wasn't my mistake.  It wasn't he's listed as Jensen Martin.

We haven't kept it a secret and have been doing it long enough that at the least the conference commissioner should know about it.  I don't know the rules that well but I'm doubting your understanding.  We simply purchased advertising from Fox Sports.  I suspect Oshkosh could do the same.

WARHAWKS take two ten run rule shortened games with Stout 14-4, 11-1 today.  Bryden goes 4x5 with 4 RBIs and Jones gets 8Ks and the win in game one.  Rentz allows 4 hits and strikes out 6 while Sontoro gets 3 hits and a pair of RBI in game two.

A balmy 33 was the best it got today.  Two more tomorrow.
It’s a violation. You can’t recruit athletes via advertisements on TV. If you could I guarantee you would see every D1 school doing it. Especially something like UW-Milwaukee basketball.
I think it's only a violation to advertise during high school sporting events. That's why you don't see those types of ads during the state tournaments.
