Move it along, Rowan vs Stockton tonight! Rowan is the better team but lets see if Stockton can come out at home fired up and looking for revenge after that NJAC game last year with the goal that shouldn't of been!

Nice to see RUN win the title, it looks like it will be just them and Rowan from the NJAC going to the tourny. I don't think either will make it to the final 4 but we will see how it plays out.

Check out Rowan Men's Soccer instagram, they have two videos. The online video, but also a sideline version with the scoreboard and clock in the frame. The kid who scored the goal received the ball with 3 seconds left, took a touch and shot.
It's honestly too close to call and I've watched the video ten times. You could tell me it crossed the line or it didn't, and I would believe either version. I was convinced last night Stockton got robbed. Don't feel that way anymore.
yeah wow that video shows .1-.2 seconds left. again blame the goalie for not even looking
In fairness, that kid is the only reason they were in the game. It's brutal, and he seemed to be out of position, but he was one of many Stockton players that seemed to let their guard down. Nobody even thought of closing down the shooter.
I agree it was super close, here is a video link of the goal.

Stockton registered 1 shot on goal! And 5 shots attempted in 110 minutes. Shots where 26 to 5 and 10-1 SOG. Stockton came in hoping for pk's And almost got there. But let's not act like they came to play. Funny how you say how physical Stockton was but then say Rowan gets away with fouls. It's always tough to beat conference opponents twice but more so when they sit in. The post and a few great saves by Stockton's GK almost where enough. Not sure what happened after the game but I hate to see kids lose their cool. Now RUN comes back to Glassboro looking for the AQ. If Rowan gets the AQ could it be only one team from the NJAC? I don't think so! I think the winner on Saturday will host the first round.
There is a difference between physical play vs fouls I'll let you figure that out on your own. Yes Rowan was the better team tonight and this season. Stockton sat back and played for the tie and take a chance in penalties, not a doubt about that and it was clear to see that was their game plan. I also think Rowan didn't play as well tonight vs when they played Stockton earlier in the year and yes it is tough to beat a conference team twice in a season but we're talking about a national title contender vs a "pretender".
Saturday should be a good game and I think both teams will make the tournament regardless of the result but a win for RUN I think is more important. Will be interesting to see if Rowan has any issues adjusting to some players being out as they play a better team, I'm not sure what happened or how long some players are out if them getting in trouble is correct.

RUN and Rowan Final...I still say RUN must win that match to get in...Their resume is lacking a bit looking around at other regions
maybe Newark can get their first conference championship this year bc Rowan did not look impressive at all. AT ALL.
I agree, I thought Stockton rattled Rowan some which is surprising for a team that is talking national championship. Their lineup looked different than earlier in the year as well. Is Sjaastad hurt? I didn't see him on the field at all.
On another note, I thought Stockton put up a good fight, did they pack it in, yes but they still had some chances and seemed to frustrate Rowan. Stockton was also were much more physical than they were in the regular season match up against Rowan which was nice to see. I still don't know how Rowan gets away with some of the fouls they commit but don't get called.

I was there, no way that ball made it into the net before the clock was at zero!

Rowan beat Stockton 3-0 tonight, probably could of been more. Rowan definitely had the better of the play, Stockton did have a break away early in the 2nd half that could of made it 2-1 but the shot was wide left. Who knows if that would of made it a different game. This was my first time seeing Rowan in person this year, I didn't realize how tall they are. Stockton has had a good start to the season, there schedule isn't the toughest, hopefully they can brush this one aside and keep going because they could still finish in the top 4 of the conference and see what happens in the NJAC tournament. Would be interested in seeing the Newark / Rowan game, they are both the top teams in the conference this year.
Absolutely nothing to do with the game, but you have -- in my opinion -- the best username on these forums.
Thanks I try!!

Week 2 Poll...
1. Washington & Lee University
2. Rutgers University-Newark
3. University Of Mary Washington
4. Rowan University
5. Lynchburg College
6. Maryville College
7. Oglethorpe University
8. William Paterson University
9. Stockton University
10. Randolph-Macon College
few of these teams have some cupcake schedules...WPU has one legit win over etown. and same with stockton. i'm more of a NJAC tracker but i can tell you Newark is LEGIT. hopefully they get their first NJAC trophy. and a lot of these teams are teams i've never even heard of, which is awesome.
While I get that perhaps Willy P or Stockton's schedule hasn't been the best let's make sure we are fair with our assessments. The overall record of Stockton's opponents thru 6 games is 15-11-13 in comparison the overall record of Rutgers Newark's opponents thru 7 games is 16-25-3. I don't have the time to get into strength of schedule etc for every team but Rutgers Newark is off to a great start and is riding their ranking from the end of last year. I really don't see an impressive win on their resume yet (only beat 2 teams with winning records; Nazareth 4-2 & Elmhurst 3-1-2). Let's see how this plays out a little more before we dismiss or crown teams before more of the season is played.

So much NJAC hate. Everyone else keep throwing their marshmellow's and leave us to play our games.

are the refs around the country just as bad as the refs in jersey?! i attended the stockton camden game and the ref seemed to be playing for stockton. he called a pk which stockton won off of for a foul that a lot of you guys would laugh at. it's a joke that refs have the authority to do that. is it really that hard to find decent refs..
We must of been at different games, I think the ref was equally bad for both teams. The penalty was a penalty every day of the week with a good ref or a bad ref. I thought it was good game each team had the balance of play for stretches and Camden had a few chances they should have put away to tie the game up.
Nothing like late season / post season NJAC games!!!
he went down a little soft. i even heard stockton parents laughing about it. regardless i'm not making excuses for the loss either i'm just saying that the refs are very very weak. don't get me wrong i've had some good refs but even when i played in the ncaa tournament and even in the final four the refs were horrid.
Yeah sometimes you have to go down when a defender dives in, he fooled a ref that was fooled almost the entire night. It is almost a roll of a dice on how the refs will be when you show up to a game. Luckily we had some good refs when we won a National Championship!!

And JSPTB - Etown can't control how good the teams are in their conference each year...many teams in the Landmark under-performed greatly this year...Catholic (preseason favorite) Scranton, USMM all did not perform as expected...Drew had a good run til they played Etown. Unfortunately, Etown's conference SOS was under .500 which killed them. Then having the nscaa regional committee chair being from their league and the guy doesn't back Etown is just a slap in the face - but I guess he got intimidated by the other coaches on the committee.
And are you saying if Etown had gone 19-1 (loss being in the conference finals) that they would not be good enough to be in the NCAA tournament?
19-1 without winning the conference they should make it but they'd have to sweat it out. Unfortunately unless you are in one of the more powerful conferences from top to bottom you are going to be on the bubble without winning the conference. Also I believe their out of conference scheduling should be better. Yes you cannot predict another teams season, like Messiah this year but if you schedule better you don't have to rely on one team to help you. I also get the budget constraints for traveling but there are plenty teams not too far, NJAC etc that they should schedule 1 or 2 a year. It's all done and dusted but in the end they had one game that was a must win this year and they lost. Maybe next year that will be the chip on their shoulder and continue to grow on this season. D3 soccer is better with programs like Etown in the mix!!

And yet Etown wasn't good enough to make the tournament...makes sense.
Nope, have to win the AQ w/ that conference.

2001 Stockton team was legit, would of loved to see them play Messiah in the final at Messiah but Redlands got past the Falcons in the semi's. I believe Messiah had a couple injuries that game that might of hurt them.
Stockton had 0 goals against the whole tournament until the final. The final was played in some sloppy weather as well so that made the game quite interesting. They went 25-1-1 that season and the 25 wins I believe still stands as the most wins in a season for any division. Their loss was a regular season 1-0 loss against Rowan @ Rowan but went along and beat Rowan twice that season, once in the NJAC tournament and once in the NCAA tournament. Their tie was to Ohio Wesleyan in the final four that they got through on pk's.
NJAC was crazy that year Rowan, Stockon, and Kean all ended the regular season conference schedule with an 8-1 record.
