Quote from: sjujohnnie on December 16, 2025, 01:14:22 PMAny word on how the search for two teams to fill the non-conference slate next fall are going for St John's? Has anyone heard of any changes in approach that the staff/team will be taking between now & next season to be more competitive?

Why would they need to fill two teams /games?

St John's website shows that there are two open dates to start each of the next two seasons. I didn't consider a bye week. I would love to see two non-conference opponents to start the season and a bye later on as opposed to playing one non-conference game followed by a bye or not playing in the first week of the season and then one non-conference opponent. If the team plays well enough they have the opportunity to be rewarded with a bye to start the postseason.

It's hard to understate the enjoyment I get from watching, following, and cheering on St John's football! I have no doubt all of the players and coaches pour everything they have into making each season as successful as possible! I'm appreciative of all of their efforts, the posters on this board, the Johnnie radio network broadcast crew, and the d3football.com team/coverage. The long wait for the first game of the next season has begun. Go Johnnies! Now my support's behind Bethel to upset North Central and reluctantly River Falls since they're the ones to end our season.

42-14, River Falls. Their fans are chanting, 'Goodbye, Johnnies!"

I was hopeful that we'd look like we had a chance to get deeper in the postseason, but that's definitely not the case.

Congrats to Bethel on advancing! Guess you're the MIAC's only hope.

Quote from: sju56321 on December 06, 2025, 02:28:57 PMRF is clearly better-but SJU still has a chance at half. The D front-not too much pressure and their QB has 88 yards rushing. Can SJU contain that in second half? Feeney needs to be better in second half.

We're gonna need a bag of extra fresh magic beans. It's never over until Hilda gets out the spear and shield.

Hilda is singing at the top of her lungs. Seriously always a gut punch when St John's season comes to an end.

Quote from: art76 on December 06, 2025, 03:00:16 PMJohn Carroll just knocked Mount Union out in OT.

Double OT! Only the 4th time in history that John Carroll has defeated Mount Union.

Pick 6 for River Falls. St John's trails 28-7 with 5:11 left in the 3rd. Not good for St John's. On a bright note, John Carroll upset Mount Union in double overtime to give John Carroll only their fourth win ALL-TIME against the Purple Raiders.

Quote from: sjujohnnie on December 06, 2025, 01:34:30 PMWe need to figure out how to stop the run! River Falls has 1st & 10 in the redzone when play resumes to start the 2nd quarter.

We won't figure it out..they're too good

Feeney is missing on some. They're secondary is blowing us up when he does connect with a receiver.

John Caroll took Mount Union to OT. Blocked Mount Union's FG attempt. Missed a FG attempt of their own that would've won it. Now in 2OT. John Carroll has only beat Mount Union 3 times in history.

And now we're down two scores. 20-7 River Falls with the extra point coming. Insurmountable?

Nice to see a sustained drive by St John's at the end of the half, but disappointing to not come away with any points to show for it. Hoping we can make the most of our possession to start the second half.

The moment each season I never want to come has arrived I'm afraid. Holding them to a field goal at least. Our defense is getting worn down and our offense is not moving it. They're pretty egotistical going for it on 4th down and faking the field goal.
