Lit up. LIT. UP.
Wow. What a disgrace for the best program in D3. We officially hit an all time low.
Was that our "baby Warhawks" out there playing?
Reasons why we lost:
1. The refs screwed us again. Just nonstop bad calls against us.
2. We don't have tall wide receivers. How is the best QB in D3 suppose to throw the ball down field.
3. It's unfair that we had to play against a QB that's 29 yrs old and probably gets drafted.
4. We need to pound the _ock more. Even down 30, we need to pound _ock. That's how we dominate. Have the best defense in the country and pound the _ock all game long. That's the recipe for success. Get back to playing like it's 2005.
Even though the WIAC has had almost 0 success the last few years letting the best 2 teams in the playoffs, the committee HAS to let in 4? maybe 5? teams in from the best conference. Odds are 1 should make the quarterfinals.
There's no question we make a deep run in the playoffs with a great QB, best defense in the country, and probably the best coaching staff in the country.
So please just let us in. We're probably the only ones that will give Mount Union a good game in the finals.
Silver lining to yesterday is the fact we lost to probably the best team in the country. That should only help with our Jeff Sagarin ratings when it comes to the committee deciding whether or not to let a 4th WIAC team in.

What an unbelievable performance by our Warhawks last night. To hold probably the 2nd or 3rd best team in the WIAC to just 2 points is a great sign for the best coaching staff in the nation.
Thought the refs were the worst though. So many calls going against us. Was thinking maybe Vegas made a call to the refs to keep it close.
But what a performance by our QB. He looked smooth out there. Real smooth. Completely on point. There's no doubt he's gotta be the leading candidate for the Gagliardi trophy.
Gonna run the table the rest of the season.

I'll bet on whitewater to cover every week. This team is the best. I love them. They will run the table. NCC and Mount don't stand a chance. Rest of the WIAC is so weak. This might be the greatest d3 team ever assembled.
Lets pound some _ock together!!!

Been following it for 24 yrs. You guys gave 3? 4? guys from 20 years. I'm sure there's a few more, but to say there's ALLLLL these from the past would make all this money is delusional.
But yeah, I smell what you're stepping in.

Lol. Every thing you 2 dopes just said is so far fetched.
Gotta be sarcastic, right?
Even before NIL, if a D1 school thought a D3 kid was talented enough to play at that level they would come to them with a scholarship. And a D3 kid can leave at any time and try to walk on somewhere else.
The kids of the past in D3 would be making 6 figures today?!? Good lord.
I'm willing to bet Blaha didn't come back for his 12th season because some donor tossed him some money.

Oh. It's "pounding the rock?"
Geez. I always thought it was "pounding the c ock." As in gamecock. And I thought the gamecock was the male version of a warhawk.
You'd think spending 4 yrs there I would know that.
Silly me.
Yesterday was OK. Building block to a great championship run. There is without a doubt this will go down as the greatest team in D3 history.

Yeah. What are they doing passing 27 times? And if you can't complete a pass down the field, just keep pounding the _ock.
They need to go back to the good'ol days of playing good defense and pounding the _ock. That's when we had the most success. Remember Lance's offenses? I don't. I was in grade school when he coached. But I heard he, the players, and fans loved it when they would just keep pounding the _ock up and down the field.
IDK. Maybe it's a recipe for disaster for today's game. I mean it's not 2005 anymore. Maybe we should just try to adjust to the times. Find a QB transfer from D1 that wants to come to Whitewater. Find a D1 O-coordinator that wants to run a pass heavy offense.  Is Don Beebe available?
I guess in the meantime, our best shot at winning the national championship is to just keep pounding the _ock.

Yeah that's all great. UWO played well. Mixed up the offense like I've never seen before. Even confused me. Sooooo many people coming in and out of the huddle. Still not sure what position AJ Korth plays. I believe he threw a pass, ran quit a bit, and caught a pass. It was fun watching him play at Menasha. Will be fun watching him play the next 3 yrs. Offensively they should be just fine. Nice senior QB. 2 very different, but solid RBs. 2 very good WRs that have been basically playing a lot since they were sophomores. And i would think the best TE in conference?
Defense played....solid. Feels like a lot of new faces. Feels like MLB Kyle Dietzen has been playing forever. So solid. So good.
Should be a great year in this conference. Probably wide open. Conference play should be fun to watch.
But I think we can take the preseason rankings with a grain of salt. I mean, isn't it just a "copy and paste" from the final rankings from last year? There's only 25 voters, right? Not quit sure who those 25 voters are made up of, but I'm guessing (lol) they really don't pay attention who's coming in and who's going out on all these D3 teams. So if I was to guess, it's a lot of final ranking teams getting votes. Then if your rankings aren't filled, you make sure  all the "purple teams" are in, the best team in the west "Linfield" is in, and AT LEAST 4 from the WIAC are in because of public perception of this being the best conference.
It's cute, but funny....these preseason rankings. But I understand. It's for us to say an unranked UWO team just beat a preseason ranked Linfield.
Look at just today. First week. #10 gets smoked at home. #13 loses to unranked opponent.

No. My post wasn't meant for you Papa. Didn't see your post when i was doing mine. It was meant as a whole. Past posts. Past beliefs. Past articles. From years and years of narratives that I'm suppose to believe.

OK. I think we can cool it on the WIAC being the best conference.
If I remember right, 2 yrs ago the top 2 teams in the "best conference" lost in the 1st round. I believe last year neither team made it past the quarters. And this year the 2 top teams in the "best conference" lost in what essentially is their 1st round.
Don't give me home field advantage BS. There is none in D3. Same size field and crowds not big enough to make a difference. Travel doesn't take any thing out of you. It's all make believe narratives. It's used as a crutch when you lose.
I've been watching the WIAC for 20 yrs now. And without a doubt this has been the best year for this conference (as far as parity). Top to bottom. Only 1 really bad team.  Today wasn't a good look for what I thought was the best year for this conference.
So based on today and the previous 2yrs, how can anyone justify this being the best conference?
Maybe it's just full of average teams?
So where did this narrative come from? Or start?

Had to have been a OL checking in eligible, right? Otherwise that is HIGHLY illegal.

I think the biggest surprise so far is Uranus losing.
I know i have always been a fan of the Uranus program. Follow it very closely. I guess that comes from my wife being an alumni there and her introducing me to the program. Very tight nit atmosphere there.
Hope this extra week of playing introduces the Uranus program to kids thinking about where to go. They might be surprised on well of a fit it might be for them

Game notes from UWO/UWP game.

Goofy game from beginning to end.
Turnovers killed UWO first half. Lovelace fumbled going into endzone. Barely touched. Touchback. Next drive a fumble by backup RB that resulted in UWP touchdown. Iladvised interception throw from Warren deep into UWP territory to no UWO wr in site. Looked like bad wr route.
Felt like UWO should have been up 17-0 at halftime. Instead down 10-3. Guessing they outperformed on total yds. Felt and looked like it.
Second half started with a nice drive, but freshman QB Cole Warren gets hurt. It did result in TD though
2 big td plays from WRs lead to a 14 point lead. UWP cuts the lead to 7.
Then came the most amazing thing I've ever seen in football. With UWO up 7 and 4 min left in the game, UWO had to punt on their own 30. UWOs punter shanked it for -8 net yards. Basically kicked it straight right. Came home and re-watched the 4th qtr. Turns out the punter blocked his own punt. YEP. As he dropped the ball to kick it, it looked like his hand came over the top of the ball. Long arms i guess. Funniest thing ever.
UWP had a great chance to tie it, but UWOs defense came up big. Especially on that very questionable 4th and 2 play by UWP. I don't know what that was. I don't even think their very good rb was in the game.
Anywho.
It was nice to see London Little getting more involved in the offense. This kid is special on his feet. I believe he took 2nd at the National Championship outdoor meet in the 100M dash. Team also took 2nd.
Trae Tetzlaff sets the all-time reception record (for  UWO) in this game with I believe 181. Should be able to get to 200. Which is pretty cool I guess.
It's going to be fun watching Cole Warren grow these next 3 1/2 yrs. Feels like he's got "it." Kinda reminds me of the path of what Nate Wara, Brett Kasper and Kobe Berghammer went through. Last two of those 3 guys started a few games into their freshman year and didn't look back. I believe Nate is on the staff. TE's coach? Nate led Oshkosh North HS to a state title. Then went to UWO and led them to the playoffs for the first time in what seemed FOREVER. Probably turned the program around into being competitive just about every year.
UWO has got some little things to clean up. But every week they seem to get a little bit better and better as a full team. Hopefully they can keep up this good mojo.
Hopefully Cole comes out of this game ok

Nice! I should have watched that UWL/UWP game or UWRF onslaught. Anything would have been better than that garbage in Whitewater.
Nice to see the beautiful parity in the WIAC.
Can't wait to see UWL in person next week. And UWP the following.

No. I disagree with "a much clearer picture" with UWW against UWO. UWO's defense was exposed against Tech. While the middle of their defense is solid, UWW should be able to run all day on UWO. And pass over the top of the corners and safeties.
The Wheaton and Linfield games could have gone either way. And to be honest with you, both of those teams handed the wins to UWO.
Combine all that and up against a freshman QB, and UWW shouldn't have a problem with UWO. If not....well then.
UWW will handle UWO nicely and ALL WILL BE RIGHT IN THE WHITEWATER WORLD. (Fart noise)
You wanna see where UWW stands in the WIAC? Then without a doubt it's the UWL game. They're legit.

Yeah. Sorry. Meant to check in. Just had a lot on my plate last few months. But always tried to follow. I'll be around next year.
And for the record, there were whispers/rumors this past summer that this might be it for Pat. No one took it serious because he's relatively young. I have a friend who played with Pat at Carroll college and was a couple years behind him. So he cant be more than 48 or 49.
Maybe just got burnt out.
Maybe has the desire to coach HS again without the headaches. I know there's a pretty prominent HS opening close to where he came from.
