Well, the offense looked terrible in 1st half in last nights scrimmage against the Mexican team, defense looked as bad.  2nd half was a different story but I also believe the Mexican team had sat their starters after the first half.  First half score 23-8, final score was 28-23 UMHB.  Got to stop this slow starting crap and put the pedal down to start the game. 

Positives--------UMHB has some good running backs and they only played 2 of them.  QB's had some flashes but mixed reviews on them and they have some good receivers.

Negatives--------Defense needs to put more pressure on QB---they did in 2nd half but I think that was against backups.  Secondary seemed lost at times.  Gave up too many completions deep and across the middle.  Gave up too many yards against the run.

Standout players-----jersey they were wearing in the scrimmage........on offense(0,1,3,11)QB's--- showed some positive at times.  Defense........#40---dude was all over the place, #24(2 picks) #47, #99, #91.

Joey Johnson got hurt during scrimmage but seemed to be ok on sideline, they were icing his elbow.

Any confirmation on scrimmages?

Im guessing the 22nd maybe?  According to the podcast, first practice isn't until the 12th or 13th so I would expect about a week of practice before letting them start smashing other people.

From the sound of the podcast with Coach Harmon, it didn't sound like UMHB offense or defense has many returning starters.  I thought they had more returning on offense than just 2 and they stated the defense only had 23 returning starters.

Typically UMHB has over 200 kids reporting to camp each year.  Not sure exactly on the breakdown numbers per class but incoming is usually over a 100 every year(including transfers)

Lol, no worries.  I know some of those guys you listed probably won't show up anyways.  Guess we will see when the roster comes out.

Any rumors on who the remaining opponents might be for UMHB?

If Dorien transferred due to distance, he wasn't saving much time, maybe 5-10 minutes tops.  Had to be other reasons he left.  He would have no doubt been a starter this year for UMHB.

Hated to see Morris enter the portal, he was important piece on defense and JJ Davis.  Now, when these guys enter the portal, if they have no takers, can they come back to the their previous school?

Well, this was the last year for the double round robin but they will have to find 5 Non-conf games instead of 4 next year.

Of those 8 games listed above, I see that 7 are realistic, but I'm thinking only 4-5 of those actually happen.  Will it be enough to lift UMHB.......what were the odds like last year?
