Nobody knows the absolute hell that was the 2022 Elmhurst season more than me.

Being told not to recruit and basically knowing the end was near was one of the most frustrating times of my life. We genuinely felt that if we had been able to actually coach and recruit, like a normal D3 football coach, that we could have been very respectable in the CCIW.

Hopefully the egos can be put aside and somebody who is willing to put in TIME and effort will be hired so that the kids and community can support a winner. Sadly I don't know if certain administration want to see that happen though.

Name coming back home to IWU after being away for a little while. Interesting hire but a good hire nonetheless.

No hints?  High school guy? College guy? IWU Alumni?

I'll just say that everyone's #1 choice was unfortunately not available due to the structure of the Illinois retirement system.

That was the one I was wondering about as I thought he would've been a great hire.

I would bet money that Norm keeps on office in the building...

Quote from: cciwman on October 29, 2024, 12:18:26 PMNorm has been an embarrassment for a long time and seems to be getting worse.  Wish I could make the Augie game but am working on getting over to see NCC and IWU.  He is always well behaved in that match-up.

Yet here we are with him still the HC at IWU and people still clamoring for his firing. Seems like it will never happen

Thorne has ZERO interest in Elmhurst University...I can promise you that.

Well when you suffer through a difficult campaign like Elmhurst has this year,  it's bound to happen that changes will occur.
Elmhurst is in a tough spot.  It's tough on them geographically which they have no control over.  But with the rise in North Central these last 15-20 years,  recruiting top candidates has been (even more) challenging.

Journell, Lester, and (even) Adam had Elmhurst starting to show signs of climbing into (minimally) the middle of the pack.  However recent years has seen Elmhurst sink back to the basement of the conference.  I am not sure what the answer is at this point.   I do hope the new hire will help to get Elmhurst back on their feet because it's a program floundering right now.

Why is Elmhurst a tough geographical spot?

It isn't
