There is still not a head to head sweep among the top five in the conference. Two more splits conveyed on Wednesday. One game to go Stevens Point at Oshkosh on Saturday night.

The difference is Whitewater did not suffer any upsets to the bottom three, yet anyways, and that's why they lead the conference.

Greek, I would say Whitewater, La Crosse, and Stevens Point are safe into the NCAA Tournament. They could suffer two losses and still make it.

Platteville and Oshkosh on the bubble.

Whitewater also all of a sudden could be in position to host the first weekend, forcing their women on the road.

And just like that Whiteater emerges from the pack and is just a home win against River Falls from the outright conference title.

Lost their first two in conference, both at home, and now the clear favorite to the win the conference. Whitewater has won five on the road. That's how you win a conference. Road wins.

Peyton Powers 6'2 G from Columbus committed to UW-Oshkosh for basketball AND football.

With one week to go La Crosse's Sam Grieger should be a run away for Player of the Year. And if that's confirmed he would attempt to become to third in a row to win back to back next year, following Levi Borchert and Logan Pearson's back to back wins.

I have Stout's Wesley Mboga currently in the lead for Newcomer of the year. But, Oshkosh's Aiden Hawkinson has been climbing and I would say he's second choice right now and with two big games he could still win it. Oshkosh's Oskar Kangas farther back third right now I'd say.

There is not one head to head sweep between the top five with three games to go.

Remaining games are Oshkosh at La Crosse and Whitewater at Stevens Point on Wednesday with Stevens Point at Oshkosh in the season finale on Saturday night.

The wins by the bottom three over the top five:

River Falls beat Stevens Point and Platteville at home.

Stout beat Stevens Point at home and Oshkosh on the road.

Eau Claire beat La Crosse at home.

These eight games are the key in deciding conference tournament seeding and tiebreakers.

The top five all think they should start with a home in the conference tournament, but only four will.

The top five all think they should be in the NCAA Tournament, but who actually will is TBD.

Easiest schedule left is obviously Platteville. They have the three team below them in the standings and two at home. While the top four currently tied are playing each other, Platteville does not.

All teams have been inconsistent, but especially Platteville. If they can escape 3-0 that probably is good enough for a home game in the tournament. All still in front of the Pioneers.

WIAC eating itself alive today. Not good.

All four favorites winners tonight. Three at home and Oshkosh picks up a win at Eau Claire.

Unfortunately Greek, Oshkosh handled business against River Falls and it wasn't that much of a game in the second half. Oshkosh tied with Platteville at 4-1.

Quote from: John Gleich on January 11, 2026, 03:40:11 PMIt was really a game of two contrasting halves. Half 1 was Oshkosh's style/page, Half 2 was Point's.

SP tried to run with Oshkosh in the first, and found themselves down 24-12. They managed to outscored the Titans 28-20 the rest of the half, but couldn't seem to stop Oshkosh, who were shooting blistering percentages from the field.

Good players will make shots.... but you defend to disrupt their rhythm, focus, and form. Point did a pretty poor job handling ball screens by the Titans, they weren't keeping drivers in front, and their help was late, which allowed the three-point shooters to hit in rhythm on the draw and kick.

The second half was a different story. It was played at Point's pace and this started with the Pointer defense. They did a MUCH better job keeping drivers in front, which led to less help required and allowed the off-ball defenders to disrupt... and Oshkosh hit only 1 three, compared to 7 in the first half.

Point also handled the press better in the second half. It wasn't perfect... but when they did beat it, the Pointers got layups (or dunks, like Isaiah Moore's).

This team seems different. They seems special. I'm not sure their ceiling, because of their struggles shooting from 3... but they have yet to play their best to this point, and if they get hot... Watch out!

I think Oshkosh played like the Packers did in the second half. Point played okay but not great; getting excited about put back dunks is fool's gold. When they start to shoot the ball from anywhere but point plank range, I'll get more excited. I see the WIAC as wide open with Platteville, Point, Oshkosh and LaCrosse all in the mix for the title.

I'm not ready to count out Eau Claire yet. Their two losses were on the road. They're still in it. Whitewater lost twice at home, they're probably out of the title race and are going to need some better results to make top four and a home game.

These teams are so even I think. I hope they don't beat each so much that only two teams get in the NCAA Tournament. They're going to take on losses, especially on the road. Like if Oshkosh beats Platteville at home Wednesday, then you 100% home court is massive this season. Hoping at least four can make the Tournament.

Wow water damage at new Sonnentag, so Eau Claire and Stout men's game is moved to Stout tomorrow.

Now at doubleheader at Eau Claire January 28.

Stout and Eau Claire men now have some major road stretches and homestands in their schedule.

Big game this Saturday as 2-0 Oshkosh travels to 2-0 Stevens Point. Almost seems impossible, but UW-Oshkosh has won seven games in a row at the Quandt Fieldhouse. UW-Stevens Point last won two in 2018 at Qunadt, both the regular season and conference tournament.

Per source it's an ACL tear for Cal Krohn. Seeing the doctors today to confirm.

What happened to Oshkosh and Whitewater in the second half? Frustrating for a far away fan. How can I properly evaluate these teams when they don't have any video?

Point almost choked, Platteville fended off Stout who didn't want to go away and La Crosse handled River Falls.
