MuleDaddy - geez, you must be old if you remember watching Jack Kemp play football!!   Are you turning 103 on this birthay?! ;)
Just kidding, have a happy birthday though I will be cheering against your favorite team.

Hooray, for the Eagles and their first victory over a team not constituted entirely of deaf players!  :D
I hope their new option based attack as well as their new 'Black Flag' defense can continue the improvement.
I am sure Mule Daddy will now insert a dozen posts about mule this and mule that leading into next weeks game.

It sounds like the Eagles had a tough time on offense versus the Gators on Saturday.  Hopefully, the defense can remain stout and the offense can limit the turnovers and kick the crap out of the Crusaders next week.

Negative karma?  I know how Murph feels now.

Let's hope those Clydesdales Warthog mentioned can open up some holes for that off-tackle play.

The limited action I saw last season had the Eagles having more of a passing based attack.  My hope for the season is that the Goal Post trophy remains on its extended stay in Huntingdon, PA after Week 2 when the Eagles face Susquehanna.

It might help if they worried less about sand kicking and more about blocking and tackling.   ;D

Let's hope the Eagles can do more than beat a school for the deaf this year.

Wilkes always seems to have a multitude of big guys on their team.  When I played against them their stud tailback looked as big as some of our OL and DL.  What do they put in the water up there?
Clearly, Muhlenberg's coach and/or  SID voted for teams that may be able to sneak up someone this season based upon the poll.  Aside from the very top and very bottom, the poll points to a pretty competitive league this season.

I always wonder who the coach of the team picked to finish first in the conference voted for if he can't vote for his team.  In this case I wonder who else did not vote for Muhlenberg.

GT - this has to be a smart kid football conference, when I looked at the MAC board they never used big words like 'ignorance'.  I do not know if it's the smartest conference, but it's probably up there.  ESPN had College Gameday at a school that claims to be in the most academic oriented conference.

Terrorizer - I looked at Westminster on mapquest and it did not seem too far from Baltimore, but I do not know where central Maryland starts.  I lived in PA, about 90 minutes from NJ, and called that central PA.

How far can Muhlenberg go in the playoffs?

I think I had hear about the railroad connection.  I guess the railroad was not goo at geography either - Westminster is still in eastern MD.  Since I had never been to WMC, I did not realize there was a caboose.  Why the change to McDaniel?

It sounds like the Mules have a decent case for being a #1 seed.  Although, looking at the losing playoff record of the CC posted on the front page the conference's history is against them.

I did not hope for petty bickering.

So Juniata lost to McDaniel...which used to be Western Maryland....which is in the eastern part of Maryland?  I miss when they played Delaware Valley, which was in the Delaware Valley or Wilkes which is in Wilkes-Barre.
Now they are playing Gallaudet...which is a school for the deaf and hard of hearing...go figure.

Weird year.

QuoteBe careful there #1 you'll have the Juniata Eagles fans breathing down your neck for making statements like "its apparent some moves need to be made for you guys to compete in this conference".
Hope this was not directed at me.  I actually agree with you on this note, I felt you were wrong for criticizing players.

From my understandiing, Juniata switched to the Centennial to play teams who were closer to them academically and therefore the Eagles would be on a more even playing field than with the teams in the MAC.  As someone who played at Juniata and lived in Huntingdon, there is not a whole lot going on - they did not even have a Wal-Mart while I was there.  Would you really want to pay that much money, I think tuition has gone up $15,000 in the 4 years since I've been there, and live in a place as 'exciting' as Huntingdon?

But hey, the women's volleyball team is good....

so the idea is snap to the qb who hands to the fb who passes the ball to someone else?  It's a pass play kinda like little league where everyone gets a chance to touch the ball.

murph - no one can criticize you for stating the facts.

As much as the 'here we go again' attitude might come out, Dickinson might also be pretty ticked off from losing after having a 17-0 lead and take it out on the Eagles.

Then again, maybe this will be Juniata's week to get off the goose egg.

Looks like Muhlenberg has 3 'Games of the Week' in a row.  This stretch will definitely show whether they're worthy of being conference champions.

mor- you can't punish those guys for being real good players on teams that are less than stellar.  I don't know that you came make the case that they are good because of the system because at least, from your comment, it seems they need to pass and therefore the defense should have an easier time defending the pass since the D know its coming.
Yankee - I'M 40, YOU WANT TO PICK ON A KID, NO PICK ON ME, I'M A MAN is my new favorite exclamation having just beat out SHOVE A RED HOT POKER UP THEIR A--!!  I know you would appreciate that.  Players at schools this siize, as opposed to the football factories in the  higher divisions, do not deserve to be harshly criticized for their play (possibly their behavior) on the field by people on an internet message board.
BT - please never tell me you're wearing something to bed in my honor again.  It's like when Rocky and Apollo Creed were hugging in the ocean in Rocky III, a little too homoerotic for my tastes.
