https://athletics.ithaca.edu/news/2025/12/14/head-football-coach-michael-toerper-to-depart-ithaca-college.aspx

Closing the book on the Toerper Head Coach era at IC:

35-10 overall
23-2 in the Liberty League
3-2 in the NCAA playoffs
2-2 in Cortaca

Of his 10 losses, 7 of them came to teams that finished the season ranked 9th or higher in the final D3football.com poll.

And before the "he did his best work with Swanstrom's recruits" comments start, it's worth noting that he was the team's defensive coordinator through the 2019 season, and that the 2020 season giving everyone extra eligibility means that quite a large number of the defensive players who were part of the 2022/2023 playoff teams were indeed still "his" guys

A great run. Aside from Hopkins OC, who else might IC consider? Coach Green at Hobart?

Curt Fitzpatrick headed to Colgate. Was a historic run for him at CState.

So we can stop pretending Boyes is better than Lehnen now. A little different when you don't have two NFL WRs on the outside.

Quote from: NEd3ALUM on November 28, 2024, 02:21:48 PMWelch may have the bigger tree then Butterfield as previously stated. Welch himself is part of both the Butterfield and Ford trees.

Glenn Caruso - HFC @ St. Thomas
Brian Angelichio - NFL POS. coach
Mark Raymond - HFC @ Williams
Mark McDonough - DC @ Williams
Mark Ross - Previous DC @ Bloomsburg
Mike Hatcher - Cornell WRs
Dan Puckhaber - HC @ SLU
Jack Mrozinski - HC @ Hiram
Mike Cerasuolo - HC @ Springfield College

I thought Cerasulo was the GA in 1993 with Siriani (W&J).  I could be wrong.

No I think you are correct, or he was there for 2 years now looking at his Wiki. 1993-1994 it states. Either way I believe when you look at IC as well as the rest of the current LL schools, a lot of great talent has grown from the trees of former coaches in the league.

No he isn't.

Glad to have cleared that up

Northeast Bias. Lehnen is the better player and has played against better competition throughout his career. It's close though.

Quote from: IC798891 on November 14, 2024, 02:34:01 PMI think any non-fluke Cortland talk will star next year.

I've argued in other places with NCC supporters, but I truly believe he's the best QB in the country. It'll be interesting to see what Cortland does when they don't have a 1 of 1 at the most important position in football

Boyes is good...Lehnen is better.  Cortland offense is a juggernaut, but the playoffs will reveal that it is not the same Juggernaut without the speed of Laap and Burgess on the outside.

I don't think Toerper will be going anywhere. The pay difference would likely not be substantial enough to get him to move. Especially when he can continue to dominate the Liberty League in hopes of something bigger and better.

Sounds like Union will be looking for a new Head Coach again.

Union is getting plenty of recognition from the Liberty League weekly in football and other sports. Nationally by D3football? Other  than the O-line Week#6, RBs Michael Fiore, Jonathan Anderson, K Max Gluck and LB Spencer Goldstein have had outstanding weeks but have not been chosen by D3football.com. My question is have they been nominated. Pat?

I think this is kind of a testament to the team-first nature of the squad this year.  #4 in total defense, #8 in rushing offense, but all about 22 guys doing their job rather than individual star turns.  Love it, actually.

Playing Hilbert and Worcester State helps too...

More trouble in Shocktown...? Nick Dunnemen in the Transfer Portal.

Ice Bear asks who?

So far I have seen Avery Turton, Azarai Lewis, and Diavon Clements

Have seen multiple Dutchmen tweet out today that they have entered the portal...what is going on over in Shocktown?

Have not followed the NESCAC very closely but when did they start having spring practice?

not out of the box at all.

Right, hiring an Ivy assistant as NESCAC HC is out of the box?
