I need to correct misinformation I have previously posted when I said WHITEWATER'S 36 consecutive games winning streak broke the previous record held by Marietta and Aurora.

In 2008 Trinity College (Conn.) won the national championship finishing the season with a 45-1 record.  Their only loss came in the first game on championship day so their streak ended at 44 games.  They lost to John Hopkins who had beaten us 12-11 in the loser's bracket to advance to the championship. After losing the first game Trinity won the championship 5-4 on a base loaded walk.

My apologies for the error. When I goggled it that was the information provided. Another example of don't believe everything you read on the internet I guess.

Quote from: Mitch Hall on May 03, 2026, 09:05:05 PMCongrats indeed to the unbeaten Warhawks and to BW. Has anyone swept the slate before?
UWO swept the WSUC slate numerous times in the past, but that was when less conference games were played and you didn't play every conference opponent four games each.

My bad.  My first post included the fact it was since the change in the scheduling format but I didn't like the way it read so I deleted it and when I rewrote it I forgot to include that.  Didn't mean to neglect the Titans.

Thanks Mitch and Cubs.

The WARHAWKS current consecutive wins streak of 35 has established a new D3 national record surpassing Marietta and Aurora who each had 33 game streaks.

The WARHAWKS take both games against Stout today by scores of 9-1 and 16-0 (7 inn.) finishing the conference portion of the season a perfect 28-0 and running the winning streak to 35 games.  It marks the first time in WIAC play that the champion has finished with an undefeated record since the league has played under the current format.

Ben Lee (5-0) scattered 4 hits, surrendering 1 r/er while walking 1 and striking out 4 in 7 innings for the win in game one. Benjy Tucker pitched 2 hitless innings, walking one and striking out 2 in relief.  Andy Thies had a pair of doubles and drove in 4 runs.  Aaron Holland, Jackson Spring, Dominik McVay and Danny Hopper all had 2 hits. McVay and Landon Seymour had 2 rbi and Evan Olson had a single rbi.

In game two the WARHAWKS scored 2 runs in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th innings.  With 2 runs across and 2 outs in the sixth Stout changed pitchers. The move backfired as he loaded the bases and then surrendered a grand slam home run to Thies.  It was Thies second home run (2 run) of the game.  In addition to Thies's pair of homers Leyton Bowers also hit a 2 run home run. Olson, Jackson Koenig, McVay and Hopper all had 2 hits. In addition to Thies 6 rbi and Bowers 2 McVay and Hopper had a pair while Olson, Spring and Keli Grennier each had a single rbi.  Franklin Kirchner (5-1) started and pitched 4 innings allowing just a single hit and struck out 6. Skyler Sievert, Theo Zeidler and Gravin Taschner each pitched an inning in relief allowing a combined two hits, a walk with 5 strikeouts.

WARHAWKS clinch 3rd consecutive and 24th in school history conference championships by sweeping River Falls over the weekend. The wins extend the streak to 30 games shattering both school (24) and conference (25) win streak records.

Game One:
This was the most competitive game as the WARHAWKS Gradin Taschner and River Falls Shaun Gavin were locked in a pitcher's dual. Both went 8 innings and hits were scattered. The WARHAWKS got a pair of runs in the 3rd on Jackson Koenig's triple and Danny Hoppers sac fly and then added another run in the 4th on a Jackson Spring single. River Falls scored in the ninth but left the tying run on base.  The 3-1 was the final.

Pitching: Taschner (3-0): 8IP,3H,0R,1BB,9K; Franklin Kirchner (S,3): 1IP,3H,1R,1K
Hitting: Jackson Spring 2H; RBI: Spring, Koenig, Hopper

Game Two:
Koenig threw a complete game holding the Falcons to just 2 hits while walking 5 and striking out 9.  The WARHAWKS took the lead with 3 in the 3rd and then added 4 in the 5th to a take and hold a 7-0 to the end. Spring had a pair of hits and rbi. Hudson Turner had a pair of hits. Bowers crushed a pair of balls.  The first came within 5 feet of clearing the rightfield scoreboard for a double and the second completely cleared the scoreboard good for 2 runs. Aaron Holland homered and both Evan Olson and Landen Seymour had rbi.

Game Three:
Sam Steuber (7-0) went 6 innings allowing 7H,3R/2ER,3K and Ethan Wickman picked up his first save finishing the final 3 innings in shutout fashion while striking out 2. River Falls scored first with a run in the first for their only lead of the weekend.  But the WARHAWKS answered with a pair in the 4th and then scored 1-3 runs in each of the next four innings to build a 9-3 lead.

Hitting: Dominik McVay: 3H,2RBI; Thies: 2H,2RBI,HR; Hopper:2H,RBI; Holland, Olson, Seymour, Koenig: RBI.

Game Four (8 inn.):

The WARHAWKS scored 3 in the 3rd, 5 more in the 4th and single runs in the 5th and 8th to end the game by run rule 10-0.  Ben Lee (4-0) went 6IP allowing 3H,0R,1BB and 3K.  Benjy Tucker relieved him needing only 6 pitches to finish the 7th and Theo Zeidler finished the final inning with 1BB.

The WARHAWKS took both ends of Wednesday's twin bill with Oshkosh by scores of 14-2 (8 inn.) and 7-5.  Game one was 5-2 going into the 8th inning when the WARHAWKS put a crooked 9 on the board turning a close game into a rout.  Ben Lee started and pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing 3 hits and a walk.  Sam Steuber ((6-0) got the win with 3 innings of relief surrendering 3 hits with 1 r/er and striking out 4.  Skyler Sievert was credited with a save. Dominik McVay paced the 15 hit WARHAWK offense with 4 hits and 3 rbi. Leyton Bowers had 3 hits including a 2 run HR. Evan Olson, Danny Hopper, Andy Thies and Jackson Spring each had a pair of hits.  Olson and Hopper had 2 rbi, Thies, Spring and Hudson Turner each had a single rbi.

In game two the WARHAWKS jumped out to a 7-0 lead into the bottom of the sixth before the Titan strung together 4 hits and capitalized on a throwing error to plate 4 and then added another run in the seventh to cut the deficit to a pair of runs. Franklin Kirchner (3-1) got the win pitching 5 scoreless innings allowing 2 hits and striking out a pair. Jackson Koening was credited with his first save.  Aaron Holland had a home run and 3 rbi. Spring had a pair of rbi while Bowers had a pair of hits and a rbi and Evan Olson also had a rbi.

Quote from: badgerwarhawk on April 13, 2026, 05:15:31 PMSome question whether game two will be played due to threatening weather.  If the game is not played it will not be made up.

Game two cancelled in the top of second with the WARHAWKS leading 2-0.
The Whitewater website has the series finale as being "postponed after the start of the second inning. The make-up date is still to be determined."

I was relying on the information provided by the broadcasting crew.  I'd be more than surprised if we drive up to EC a third time
Safe to say you're surprised?  ;D

Yes, but I can understand why the league wants the game played.

WARHAWKS take a pair of close games over Platteville today 3-1 and 4-3.  The two teams were 3-1 after four innings before pitching put an end to any further scoring.  Jackson Koenig (W,4-0) got the start pitching 5.2 inning, allowing 4 hits, an unearned run with a walk and 4 strikeouts.  Franklin Kirchner (S,2) relieved with 3.1 hitless innings walking a batter and striking out 4.  Dominik McVay had a pair of hits and an RBI.  Aaron Holland and Landen Seymour also had RBIs.

The WARHAWKS picked up 3 runs in their first at bat on 3 hits, 2 passed balls and a double steal of third and home and held a 4-1 lead after the fourth.  Platteville pulled to within a run with a pair of runs in the sixth but Theo Zeidler (S,2) shut the door with 3 hitless innings in relief with a strikeout to preserve the win.  Gradin Taschner (W,3-0) started and allowed 5 hits and 1 r/er with a walk and 6 strikeouts over 5 innings before being relieved. Skyler Sievert pitched an inning. Jackson Spring had a pair of hits and an RBI for the WARHAWKS.

Because it may have some bearing in the conference tournament seeding the postponed game 4 against Eau Claire will be resumed on April 29. The WARHAWKS lead 2-0 with Eau Claire batting in the bottom of the second.

You can't minimize what the WARHAWKS have accomplished to date. Winning 22 consecutive games with a roster that includes 22 new faces and lost at least 3 of the projected starting pitchers to the portal and the fourth to an injury in the first game of the season is a significant accomplishment regardless of the state of the conference. The league may be down some but it's still 68-32 in nonconference play with only a single team sporting a losing record.

The WARHAWKS swept Platteville yesterday 9-6 and 12-1 (7 inn.).  Sam Steuber (5-0) went 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 2 runs/earned with a pair of walks and 5 strikeouts for the win in game one.  Gradin Taschner picked up his 5th save.  Andy Thies had 3 hits including a home run and drove in 4 runs.  Aaron Holland also had 3 hits and an RBI.  Dominik McVay had an RBI.

Game two was a run rule win for the WARHAWKS.  Ben Lee (3-0) got the win pitching 6 innings, allowing 3 hits, 1 run/earned, walking a pair and striking out 5. Skyler Sievert threw a hitless inning in relief and had a strikeout.  Holland and Thies continued their hot hitting with 3 hits apiece and were joined by Evan Olson's 3 hits. Leyton Bowers, McVay and Landen Seymour had a pair of hits.  Jackson Spring hit a 3 run home run and Seymour also had 3 RBIs.  Olson and Bowers each had a pair of RBIs while Holland and Thies each had a single RBI.
